These people need to learn from NZ. All that is required is to get a gagging order for the press, tell the people to move on and pretend it never happened. This resigning over personal integrity/honesty or morality issues is just soo not the way it should be done. Idiots – they have no idea how to simply ignore the pubic perception their actions create and move on.

I wouldn’t call it inappropriate – calling it innappropriate becuase it’s not what I choose to do is like calling it inappropriate to open shops over easter because “somebody” wants them closed for reasons that I don’t agree with.

It’s about honesty, if I were an MP and I got caught with a $1,000/hour hooker then I would probably say – piss off to anybody who thought it was their business. If however prostitution was illegal and I was caught with a hooker then it’s a different matter. This is the point. In some contries MP’s are expected to be pillars of society – in NZ we don’t seem to have any set standards for them. They can appoint mates to govt health boards, short circuit public tenders, be dishonest about their own dealings and all we do is get more and more restrictions on the information that lets us know what is going on.

I totally agree burt. Politicians should not keep skeletons in the closest and they should adhere to principles of integrity.

Seriously though, the story behind Spitzer’s outing and the possible reasons for the timing of it, is very interesting.

those top ten lists always have a few that are just stupid on them – you would have thought they would have paid their writers enough to not screw it up.

Yeh it was pretty weak GNZ, but thought it was topical. Certainly not as good as DPF’s original video segment.

Maybe the writer’s stike isn’t over, after all??
