Anonymous Donations 1st quarter 2008

The Electoral Commission has released its quarterly report of anonymous donations received by them, to be passed onto parties.
No donations have been received. Also no donations of over $20,000 have been filed with them which means since 1 January 2008 there have been no donations at all to parties of over $20,000 – either directly or indirectly.

So does this mean that donors are no longer making anonymous donations to political parties.
Or does it mean they have found a (cough) way to cut out the middle man ( and the PC woman)
I think we should know but Im not holding my breath
April 16th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
I would say Labour has received donations of these sorts of amounts, but will claim they did not know they had to liaise with the EC. (Despite ramming the EFA through.)
April 16th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
Well its going to look a little odd if they all have no anonymous donations thru the EC but all go into Election 08 with full war chests.
However given their low standard of ethics and morals that wont be a surprise.
Even asking them to sign a stat declaration is a waste of time as they cross their fingers behind their backs whilst they are doing so and think this gets then off
April 16th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
When are the twisted lefty liars going to blame the Exclusive Brethren again ?
Helen Clark thinks “ethics and morals ” is the name belonging to one of the Dames racehorses in the stable, doped up and ready too go at the track.
April 16th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
They can do whatever the hell they like, no one but the phools and other leftist trolls will be voting for them.
This nappy is full.

I read/heard that National put out an appeal for all their big/secret donors to put their money into the secret trusts last year before the EFA kicked in this year…is this wrong or not? I would rather not have opinion on this…i.e. ‘blah commie lies blah’
April 16th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Have Labour or NZ First received any `Loans’ from Own Glenn or any other benefactors?
April 16th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
The reason there have been no donations over 20 grand is quite simple – National hit the streets before Christmas before the EFA came into effect and built up the war chest while their donors could still remain anonymous.
And of course these donors prize their anonymity for 2 reasons: firstly donors such as the insurance industry don’t want their or National’s true agenda to be known publicly: in this case privatisation (National code word ‘choice’) of ACC. Secondly, the donors knees tremble at the thought that Labour may actually win a fourth term and would hate to upset an incumbent government by having their partisan support for National revealed.
All power to the EFA – it will be interesting to see how John Key goes when National have to fight on an even playing field.
April 16th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
BS – How will Labour be able to fight without the stolen $800k?
April 16th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
“All power to the EFA – it will be interesting to see how John Key goes when National have to fight on an even playing field.”
brandonsheehen ; do you bowl underarm on a tilted wicket ?
April 16th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
brenden – having someone else come up with your talking points shows a lack of intelligence.
all this means is Labour is hiding their cash, and if they get caught pre-election, they’ll ram through legislation. corruption is contagious – once you start lying and stealing and get away with it, it’s hard to stop.
April 16th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
brendensheehan, how many things can you lie about in three paragraphs?
1. Do you have any evidence that National pushed for donations whilst still anonymous, v’s the usual experience that a party doing well in the polls also does well in donations (note the direction of that cause and effect)
2. Do you have any evidence that there are donors from the insurance industry? Are you suggesting that the executives donate out of their own pockets, or that the companies themselves donate? If the companies, do you not think that would turn up in their company statements? How exactly do you think this works? In short, this has been a lie for a long time, and repeating it doesn’t change that. I thought you were a Labour candidate – surely you should be a bit more careful about what you say?
3. Privatisation of ACC? I’m still worried about the nationalisation of ACC that was carried out by Labour. Do you have anything you really get upset about around lower premiums and better service? If I remember correctly, the studies of the last time ACC was opened to competition was that it improved things quite substantially. Are you just trying to hit the buzz words and the secret agenda allegations? I also note that John Key has explicitly ruled out any privatisation, so I guess you’re lying here as well.
4. Worried about the incumbent government. And well they should be, you are just another example of the petty minded reaction that the Labour party have to anyone with the temerity to support a party other than Labour. Do you think that people shouldn’t be allowed to keep their political opinions secret?
5. Even playing field? You mean one where the Labour party have the full resources of the government and the unions behind them, and National are pilloried if they have any supporters at all? Interesting definition of level.

Sheehan’s a dumb prick, it’s fun to have him around. Being a failed australian union flunky he’s a perfect example of the trash that makes its way into the Labour ranks.
The big power bill episode that he rode all the way to candidate selection is a classic example of a power hungry twit happy to hearse surf his way to fame.
He seems to be upset that National may have legally solicited and received donations. He doesn’t seem to care that Labour illegally obtained and spent 800k last election. He’s a moron.

I bowl overarm on any wicket presented by the curators.
Those unfamiliar with Australian politics may be interested to learn that Greg Chappell is a long time National Party (Australia) supporter and one time potential candidate. On the other hand his brother Ian Chappell, a strident critic of the underarm tactic, is a long time and vocal Labour supporter.
Proof perhaps that sport and politics do indeed mix? And perhaps that values are a greater determinent of actions than race.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
Don’t ask Brenden for evidence. He doesn’t have any.
Don’t ask him for help with your power bill unless there’s a TV camera around either.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
Brendan – Yeah, the Chappells are both wankers though aren’t they? (and let’s not forget Trevor… him of the “yes bruv, anything you say bruv” attitude)… If there’s one thing capills_enema has learned, it’s that Ozzie cricketers are usually complete tossers, no matter what their politics are. Goddam socialists.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
….And australian politicians are usually tossers as well, especially if they play cricket?
April 16th, 2008 at 6:39 pm
Hate to be the one to tell you this Helmet but have you noticed that the practices of the whole electricity industry have changed a bit recently. Guess I might have helped plenty of people with their power bills.
If the Ruahine Trust and the Waitemata Trust would stump up with details of who gave them $1.5 million last year I am sure I could provide you with plenty of the evidence you so desire.
Funny that the spend allowed under the EFA is $2.4 million and in the 2005 election year National only received just under $1.9 million in donations. Allowing for inflation you guys will still be ok, so what the heck is the problem?
Speaking of free speech, at least I post under my own name. Who the hell are you Helmet?
PS: I was actually a pretty successful Australian union flunky!☺
April 16th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
“Who the hell are you Helmet?”
Maybe he’s German?
April 16th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Sheesh Brenden I’m Graeme Davidson, but I post under the pseudonym of Helmet. Thanks for asking.
“Guess I might have helped plenty of people with their power beells.”
Hmm Nobody got helped more by that power bill than you though I bet. It was obvious when we saw you on TV all full of lies, bullshit and bluster where your ambitions lay- then surprise! You’re cuddling up to Labour. It’s pretty transparent bro, and very tragic.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:53 pm
I cannot see how it can be claimed that because no reports of donations of over $20,000 have been filed with the Electoral Commission it means that “since 1 January 2008 there have been no donations at all to parties of over $20,000 – either directly or indirectly”. With respect, I think it pretty certain that some donations have not been declared “yet” because the need for declarations was “forgotten”.
And I’ll state that I don’t think that it will be one of the two major parties that has forgotten.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
OK, as we’re all introducing ourselves — Hello. I’m Capills Aloysius Enema. Nice to meet you all.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
And you too. Couldn’t think of anything worse than being Capill’s enema myself! Keep on truckin’ Graeme.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Brendon Sheehan- My power bill is really high this month and I haven’t paid it. My kids will die if I don’t have power because our food will go rotten and they will get food poisoning. Will you help with a few dollars like you helped your rellies in South Auckland? Our only other choice is to get the guitars out and sing for our supplier.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
Capill’s enema
““yes bruv, anything you say bruv”
That’s the story, now while you are in this mood can you rip down to the local supermarket and purchase a block of cheese for me, even us “rich pricks” are feeling the belt tighten.
Interesting that we have ministers of the crown on 250k (no wonder people like Sheehan want the job) wasting time trying to rort the EFA or singing stupid fucking songs while the rest of us struggle with the mortgage.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
BB, you need a mortgage nowadays to even buy a block of cheese at the local supermarket.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
I wonder where Winston’s $158000 came from then. Don’t think it was a whip round of party supporters down at the telephone cubicle.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Personally I had stilton last night, and wensleydale with cranberries. Can’t you lefty dole bludging socialists just make do with Ches & Dale? Or cake?
April 16th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Immmmm CAKE
April 16th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Ah Capill’s E – your real identity is revealed at last – you are Marie Antoinette!

You wouldn’t know an even playing field if you were squatting down shitting on it!
April 17th, 2008 at 2:48 am
Brian Smaller – you’re a disgrace. I hope for your sake you’re not using your real name.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:42 am
Waaaah poor Tane!
Sheehan needs to keep being nailed for this. This family could have sought the help of WINZ, their church, or, yes, their union. They chose not too. And the vultures only gathered after it happened.
He is a scumbag of no integrity who capitalised on the tragic, but preventable death of a woman. Lefties cannot take the moral high ground on this. She died not because the power company were bastards, but because the people who claimed to care for her… all of them… neglected her, and tried to capitalise on it afterwards. Sheehan et. al. are scum for doing this. People need to be reminded of it, and I will hoe in with a kicking again and again if that is what is required.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:15 am
“Brian Smaller – you’re a disgrace. I hope for your sake you’re not using your real name.”
May I suggest it is you TANE who is the disgrace as the owner of a flea infested blog that is a sub standard contagious disease.
You are the typical communist coward that needs to be eradicated so this country can move forward. You are more than a disgrace TANE – you are a disgusting broken arse creep.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:44 am
PaulL, that was very well said in your 5:49pm comment. I personally would like to see Brendan Sheehan address those points. As a Labour candidate, he should be able to provide the proof of his allegations. Otherwise, I’d have to concur with you – he is lying.
April 17th, 2008 at 7:47 am
Ahh it’s THAT Brenden Sheehan. The same fulla who exploited the death of a woman to advance his own political career. Nice. Well he is in good company then with Labour and the union clingons like Tane etc. Tane is still in la-la land denying that unions have large assets and will cause more than a ripple against National/ACT in the election campaign.
April 17th, 2008 at 7:55 am
is there any reason why in even the half fucked society we have now in NZ that someone who clearly and deliberately profited from the death of a family member and milked for all they could is even allowed to show their face in public?
what’s worse than an ambulance chaser? surely someone using a coffin as a soapbox has to be the lowest of the low.
rather than getting your face in the news and a labour candidacy, you could have all put all the effort you put into the crocodile tears you had after her death and helped her not die. like either;
a) paying the bill yourself to get it back on – you are a union parasite, they pay you well
b) doing a whip round at the church
c) doing a whip round at the husbands work and or his union if he was a member
d) buying an extension cord and plugging it in next door
e) calling the power company and getting it sorted.
of course doing that would not have gotten you on tv and a bit of publicity to run for parliament.
so where were you before she died? nowhere, that’s where. but the moment some time for a tv spot came up you were right in there, not much help to the family then are you.
I have to believe even the useless toads like gnome and tane must have at least the humanity to not try to profit from some ones death but you are the lowest sort of filth, a total and utter parasite.
and since when have we allowed the lie to become truth? it was quite clear and made clear that the power going off had nothing to do with her death, that the respirator did not keep her alive. the hospital said they would not have let her leave if she was that critical. but you lot keep repeating the lie often enough and suddenly its now true.
absolutely sickening. i for one hope the people in the electorate you are pushing for show you exactly what they think of your actions by giving you absolutely no votes.
April 17th, 2008 at 11:00 am
AND it was a GUMMINT-OWNED POWER COMPANY. DON’T FORGET.
