Don’t laugh bro. This time last year you might have said the same thing about the EFA. Personally, I’ve always said that the logical next step of the EFA is to ‘reform’ the press during elections. So like I say – it’s too soon to laugh…

Winston Peters is “mentally compromised” and the fact that he remains an MP in NZ causes me some embarrassment. One expects this stuff in Crapistan but not NZ. I have some sympathy for his associates, but not much. A couple of the brighter(or windier ones) have bailed out. The others are so keen on “pay for nothing jobs” that they could only be shifted by a ton of kryptonite, delivered anally.Do we have any decent journalists in NZ? Where do they hide?

Thank goodness for the Germans. If they hadn’t invented “schadenfreude” I’d have no word to describe my emotions.

But there’s also a part of me that thinks back to the many, many fine people who were drawn to this party when it began in 1993 and in the subsequent few years, who genuinely upheld the principles on which it was founded. For them – and the good people, embodied in George Groombridge, who are still hanging on hoping this is some sort of bad dream – I feel genuine sadness.

Such promise… sacrificed at the altar of egos of first Michael Laws and then Winston Peters.

I been always telling you NAT that the Winston wedge is still there. Electoral finance is a rat nest as you know. Winston says theirs spending was legal and here he protest. Its news farrar. Sam – sadly, it can’t be enforced. The A-G had no power to require money to be repaid, nor does the Speaker. It was just left to the integrity of the parties, and their perception of how much the fallout would affect them. On that count, Peters has greatly underestimated the mood of the electorate.

It would be quite a laugh if NZFirst were made to still repay the debt owing to Parliamentary Services, having already paid it all out to unnamed charites. Actually, this should be the case anyway, why isn’t it being enforced???

David – the optimist in me says that the Nats are keeping their powder dry and they are waiting until they have a date to work to. But the $50 announcement sounded purile and a waste of time – a number of others have said the same to me today. It is a wet bus ticket approach and we already have that so why change.

I think this is a really good decision of NZ FIrst’s. I support giving money to charities. Its enouigh to make me vote New Zealand forst and I cant think why anyone else would imagine otherwise. What on earthi s wrong owth youj all!
