Back Benches tonight Add this story to Scoopit!.

Back Benches is on tonight live at the Back Bencher.

The MPs are:

  1. Sue Kedgeley, Greens
  2. Rodney Hide, ACT
  3. Chester Borrows, National
  4. Charles Chauvel, Labour

And the topics are the budget, tax cuts and leadership. Sounds fun. TVNZ also tells me they have a special mystery guess!

The show starts at 9.00 p.m. but best to be there by 8.30 pm if you want a seat or want to offer yourself to ask a question. It is, of course, at the Backbencher on Molesworth Street.

  2. Mr Dennis (348) Says:

a special mystery guess? how exciting!

  3. ISeeRed (217) Says:

A mystery guess? The colour of Sue Kedgeley’s panties?

  4. kiwitoffee (382) Says:

So TVNZ are going to have a special mystery guess. That’ll be interesting – they haven’t got a clue.

ISeeRed: Nice one. That would be the only reason for attending and certainly more interesting than the main topics of discussion. I dare not suggest a colour. What about Mr Chauvel’s panties?

  5. Murray (8,734) Says:

    Shaved for this one DPF?

  6. micheal_warren (19) Says:

Chester does a great job at the backbenchers…Its good to see a MP stand up for what they believe. He is a real asset to the National party

  7. 3-coil (1,064) Says:

ISeeRed – my mystery guess would have to be: hessian (natural of course).

  8. David Farrar (1,560) Says:

    John Tamihere was the guest.

  9. ISeeRed (217) Says:

3-coil: better than au natural. *shudder* *convulse*, *haemorrhage* Not the kind for green bush I like to go adventuring in.

How do I get to see this latest Back Benches? I’m not in NZ. Is it available online for later viewing?

  10. kiwitoffee (382) Says:

    ISeeRed

You’re not in NZ. Nor am I. Is anybody?

  11. reddeath26 (97) Says:

I am in New Zealand, although sadly I was caught unawares. Annoying assignments taking up my time >_>. Although I too would like to know if it will be online.

  12. expat (3,684) Says:

I am 1 of the 35,000 as well. If it does become a YouTube whatsit can someone post it?

  13. kiwifruit(1) Says:

http://www.tvnz.co.nz … on the on demand tab

  14. ISeeRed (217) Says:

kiwitoffee: Yes, left in 2001, after seeing the writing on the wall early in the game, if I may mix idioms.

kiwifruit: Thanks! I did try http://www.tvnz.co.nz, but didn’t think to click on that tab, just did a search for Back Benches.

Update: “This video is for New Zealand viewers only.” *sigh* I blame Labour. ;-)

  15. OECD rank 22 kiwi (2,528) Says:

I quit New Zealand back in 2007. If only I had flown to freedom earlier. At least now with paying NZ$0.00 tax I’m not funding TVNZ’s efforts at spreading into the digital spectrum.

Maybe on demand isn’t available outside New Zealand less valuable state secrets are revealed. Or Labour might want to hide just how bad it is in New Zealand at the moment.

  16. kiwitoffee (382) Says:

    ISeeRed

I don’t think you are mixing idioms. Mixing metaphors perhaps? So, I guess you’re in the States then.

  17. expat (3,684) Says:

its because tvnz are too tight to pay for the bandwidth.

  18. Murray (8,734) Says:

Pull finger reddeath26, I got mine in early enough for them to be coming back this week leaving me three clear weeks to prep for the exams…. I’ll start next week.

So John Tamihere was the guest. That is a mystery.

  19. ISeeRed (217) Says:

kiwitoffee: No, Asia. And why would TVNZ not make this available New Zealanders overseas? TVNZ won’t ever be selling the series overseas.
