Well done Ron
May 27th, 2008 at 4:45 pm by David FarrarThe Dom Post reports on how NZ First MP Ron Mark helped save a man’s life after his motorcycle was hit by a trailer in the Terrace tunnel.
Ron hasn’t said anything about it, but the crash victim wrote to the PM and others informing them of what Ron, and his partner, did.
Ron is my favourite NZ First MP. And no that is not like being my favourite form of cancer – I have always had a lot of respect and regard for Ron, despite my well documented views on his leader.

I gotta agree DPF, while I cannot wait to see the back of NZ first the house will be a lot poorer without Ron Mark.
What are the chances of getting Ron to stand in Tauranga on the National ticket?

I have to feel sorry for Ron I think he could have gone further but when you sell your soul to the devil payback day will eventually come.

Ah yes, the political titan who stands astride our Parliament, demonstrating daily his acute grasp of today’s pressing issues, such as his recent pronouncement on Hoodie Day. Clothes really do maketh the man (or the gang member, in this case) according to our Ron.
Without such an intellectual Colossus making our laws (not to mention setting new standards of behaviour by waving his middle digit around), whatever shall we do?

gee..!..mark eh..?
he really annoys me..
i dunno if it’s the preening..the posturing..the crocodile tears..the prisoner-bashing..the immigrant-bashing..the naked opportunism..the smirking..
or any of the many other annoying aspects of mark..that annoys me the most..

I went past the scene not long after it happened, not a nice sight. Firstly, I agree with the other posters with the “Well done Ron!” here, but from the riders perspective, he was only wanting to thank the person that saved his life, not turn it into the media circus it has become (unless of course it was in the form of driver education or something more along those lines).

I like Ron Mark. I like his ideas on crime and prisons. He is a politician who generally talks sense. I’d like to see him in National.

Well done Ron. And well done Kate Wilkinson too. It is great seeing democracy served by National saying what it plans to do to the country even if this is unpopular. Democracy requires honesty and openness.

When do we get the “Well done Kate” comments?
Or has she been done over?

I like the thought of Ron Mark as Police minister.

On the face of it, I like Ron Mark too. He’s had a life full of interesting experiences. But like all politicians, I’m left wondering whether upon assuming the power of office, (and like a camellion aka. personal ego and pack mentality), he’ll also change his colours??

Winston will now prowl the dark streets of Wellington waiting for car accidents to get his personal poll ratings up. Imagine how he must be seething…”Fuck Ron, I’m the leader. Couldn’t you have called me? I know about turnakays…or whatever they’re called…tourniquets? I think I drank about 20 of those with Owen in Monaco.”

Good job, better his finger blocking a severed popliteal artery than flipping the bird in Parliament.

I agree with the above — Ron Mark seems to be a decent Kiwi bloke.
Commenting on Rex Widerstrom’s link to Rod Marks comments about hoodies I would actually agree with Ron Mark. Sadly many youth today pick up their norms from the gangs of East Los Angeles. Hoodies always seem to me anyway to indicate a person is trying to hide their identity? They seem a mark of rebellious youth rather than law-abiding young people. So I would agree with Ron that celebrating hoody day seems a little naive and misplaced.

Nah Scott
that’s not fair
Hoodies are protection against things at the side intruding on your sight and making you try to think of more than one thing at once.
After all. When you’re driving your unregistered, uninsured and warranted unfit vehicle at max revs down the middle of the road, seeing something out of the corner of your eye might make you think about letting someone else share the road, instead of just expecting them to get out of your bl**dy way!

Ron is a decent kiwi bloke. A great man.
First time caller…. Have you actually met Ron Mark? I beg to differ with your statement that he is an angry man.
