A hotel out on Queen’s wharf would PROBABLY be quite cool, and a real drawcard for the city. But a Hilton-less Queens wharf is not quite so bleak and lifeless as Poneke makes out. That area already has plenty of “24-hour life” doesn’t it? What with Dockside & Shed 5 and the rest by night, and the events centre, the helicopters and the kayaks by day… And I’m sure the Auckland Hilton is lovely if you’re staying in it, but when you’re outside at wharf level it is still just a big cold lifeless building, albeit a nice new white one rather than an old grey one!

Poneke laments how Waterfront Watch’s campaign against the Wellington Hilton, has meant no waterfront development is likely for a decade. Instead we are left with those awful tin sheds.

I’m also surprised that DPF should promote the odious whaleoil site. Pasting a teenager’s head onto porn is puke-making.

In addition, the response from Lynn was very detailed and since Lynn has been known to share a beer or two at NZ’s best brewpub, I can confirm many of those details myself. Whaleoil hasn’t turned up anything new.

In relation to DimPost. I recommend watching the Chris Rock youtube video on Gun Control.

Chris Rock has a great theory that gun control is not a problem, all you need to change is the price of bullets.

As he says if a bullet cost $5,000 then the person who got shot had to deserve it

As I don’t write for the Standard and am not a member of the Labour party BB how could I confirm or deny that accusation.

Also I dont see how calling Whale Oil’s blog a “train wreck” is abusing him. If you log onto it and have a look it is a self-evident truth!

Oh dear Sonic, it seems that once again the Labour party have been caught stealing tax payer money to fund the Standard and you defend this by abusing people, I also note that you do not deny the accusation.

What you fail to understand is that public money is NOT your money, it belongs to the tax payer and as such should not be used to push the lies and propaganda of the Labour party.

Labour are simply corrupt.
