Looks like H1 has dusted off the old sustainability issue again.

That makes Dail Jones assertion that Clark had “no chance at all” about remaining PM correct. New Zealand is heading for a recession and the last thing the voters want to hear is some happy clappy rubbish that requires them to dig deep into their own pockets and pay even more than they are now for food and energy. Clark really is out of ideas. She’s desperate to lose by as much as possible.

The lack of a “Budget bounce” shows that New Zealanders are tiring of Clarks’ Government and Labour is running out of options as it heads towards Electoral defeat later in the year

I didn’t listen to Winston but Justin on Wellington ZB was able to read the emails he was receiving. He quoted one asking why he was up to his old tricks non stop criticism of National MPs while refusing to justify his support of the corrupt Liabour creeps. I thought Tau was poor value on Monday why on earth National didn’t put up KEY or English or Collins I don’t know. Rodney was as usual very good on Tuesday.

Yes for gawds sake calm down people. There are solid, reliable signs pointing to a Labour defeat but this certainly isn’t one of them. In fact Jones is so consistently and so deeply idiotic and completely wrong in every other statement he makes, it almost makes me wish he’d confidently predicted the triumphant return of the present government with an increased majority.

Unfortunately Dail’s views don’t really stack up. With:
– some assumptions that Helen will offer Winston more than John will (we know already that Winston can be bought)
– some assumptions that Dunne will go with Labour again
– knowing that Anderton, the Greens, and the Maori would prefer to go with Labour

you need National + ACT to get more than 50%. At the moment they are polling higher than that, but will that really stay all the way to the election? I’m sure there are some dirty tricks, some missteps, some policy announcements all yet to come.

Sure, it wouldn’t meet anybody’s definition of a stable government. But does anybody have any doubt that Helen would do it, even if buying off all those parties destroyed the country’s finances?

Dail is still a fool, even when he is saying something that I want to hear.
