July 2008 Public Poll Averages
August 9th, 2008 at 3:15 pm by David FarrarLater in the weekend, the July 2008 polling newsletter will be released. The two main graphs for NZ are below:
The gap between National and Labour narrowed from 23% to 18%. National is hovering at just over 50%.
NZ First is at a two year high, having broken past 4%. Most of the polling was prior to revelations over funding, but regardless they have been going up since the budget.
The full newsletter is only available by e-mail. If you would like to receive future issues, go to http://listserver.actrix.co.nz/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/polling-newsletter to subscribe yourself.

“..and this all pre-secret agenda revelations..”
Ask Ruth Dyson about the hidden social agendas she’s promoting for Labour. Why have one wife when two will get the job done better?

Spiteful Prig, Could you please write “fewer full stops”? As you would probably say, it’s correcter.
Meanwhile, back on thread, I’m picking the August polls to show NZ First and ACT picking up support at National’s expense, with Labour steady.
Vote:August 9th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
I’d agree about Act JP, but I don’t know if there’ll be a bounce for Winston First.
Vote:August 9th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
Following the trend of the graph, it looks like National will get roughly 55% of the vote come the election.

Phil no-one but people who already support Liarbore or the Greens thinks the secret agenda story is anything but a beat-up.
Every step that Liarbore takes down the nasty vicious path Clark promised she would (see Bassett), is a step away from their pre-Clark reputation, as a somewhat naive but nevertheless principled player.
The nation will trash Liarbore because their only, repeat only, card was the economy and the Emperor’s new clothes have been exposed.
Clark’s wisest strategy if she has any love for the vehicle that bought her to power is to play a strong but fair hand in order to salvage what she can, not for her, but for the party. She won’t do that though because she’s proven by her actions to be the most self-interested underhand unprincipled PM NZ has ever had. She has trashed Parliamentary tradition by appointing the two most biased speakers in history, proving she doesn’t care about that. She has trashed the economy by permitting the majority of her spending programs to favour not most people but rather those particular demographics she needs for her own re-election. She has spat on our democracy via the EFA. She has spat on our most treasured and important institution by her social engineering programs specifically designed to attack the family unit, the latest example of which featured in a previous 4:43 post on this thread.
I can’t believe principled people in the Greens and Liarbore haven’t seen through this and I can only therefore conclude that such people are either thicker than a whale omelet or they are just as power hungry and unprincipled as Clark and the entire Liarbore caucus.

There are huge column inches in the papers that will make the Polls move the ‘right’ way again.
The last ditch effort by the activist with a wire, was novel.
Think Labour must be starting to get very wobbly now.
All the economic indicators are all going exactly the wrong way for the Government.

Glutaemus Maximus: “All the economic indicators are all going exactly the wrong way for the Government.”
Interest rates. Employment (if not unemployment). Income levels. Inflation’s still lower than Aussie, US, etc. Exchange rate’s coming off the high…
Them’s facts. You’re wrong.
