Shock horror: SST turns on PM

August 25th, 2008 at 8:18 am by David Farrar

The Beehive must be in crisis mode. The Sunday Star-Times launched a savage attack on the Prime Minister in yesterday’s editorial.

Their editorial was full of praise for the Prime Minister and her handling of Foreign Affairs. It was an editorial worthy of a nobel peace prize nomination. But they ruined it towards the end, with just two words. They conceded the Prime Minister was “not perfect”.

Such savage press criticism can not be tolerated. I am sure the PM’s Office will be complaining to the Press Council and asking the Sunday Star-Times to justify its editorial position that the Prime Minister is “not perfect”.

Yes…but with a little “digital dentistry” she will (again) be perfect when her pledge cards roll out and the election campaign proper begins.

It’s a hard road to find the perfect PM but as the Speights ad said there’s time.

“Their editorial was full of praise for the Prime Minister and her handling of Foreign Affairs. It was an editorial worthy of a nobel peace prize nomination…….”

I’m sure the same was said about Neville Chamberlain’s “handling of foreign affairs” in his day, too.

“They conceded the Prime Minister was “not perfect”.”

I am getting quite happy with the increasingly absurd transparent bias of much of our MSM. I am sure that it is too late for them to actually suck people in this easily any more, and that all they are in fact doing is destroting their own credibility. Here’s to “New Media”, it’s time it took over. Some columnist I read recently reckoned that 2004 was the year the MSM in the USA lost their ability to set the agenda. That time must be almost upon us in NZ.

Sunday Star Times are ever so clever. They write stories so well, so as to convince skeptikal Kiwis that this is managed manipulated, and censored just like in China.

Like at the Olympic Games, Helun is the front person to sing and dance, because the real power is much uglier, fatter, and nastier!

Well a the only government in living memory to have laid charges of sedition, I expect Labour will now see to it that the editor of the SST will be hauled before the courts on treason as a result of those comments.

I cancelled the SST some months ago.

Am I correct that the Editor is “leaving” (after disasterous circulation downturn)

BUT has a lovely State Services role with Palmer’s Law Commission as a a sinecure for her govenment support?

I see that left winger cate Brett is off to some over paid semi government role.

No doubt to be replaced by another member of the screeching sisterhood.

I only buy the SSTs for the full on belly laughs it provides as an excuse for unbiased reporting
