A few weeks back John Key commented to an audience that NZ had not won a World Cup since we had had a woman Prime Minister.
Wellington has not held the log since 1982 which goes back to the days of Rob’s mob. Now there are two things about that.
1. Is the returning of the log to Wgtn. a sign of more important things to come this year. i.e. National will return with enough “guts to do the right thing”?
2.In the last week some academic has released a study on which Govt’s. past and present have carried out their spoken election promises and the winner was Muldoon’s.
When one reads about the Stephen Jennings, Owen Glen’s, Graeme Hart’s and many other of our countrymen then we must surely recognize that we have been on the wrong track for quite some time. The world has many wealthy Kiwi’s just crying out to build our nation to what it can be. Time we harnessed that energy.
( Oh yes and we can forgive Owen for his slight lapse of judgment in giving to Labour. Obviously lulled by the lefts be nice brigade.)

Good thing it was not a prop, a shield would have to be a bloody sight larger 🙂

Heh. Waikato RFU lent the Shield to some buddies of mine in late 1999 and there are some similar photos… not that we earned the right to get naked with the Log o’ Wood, mind.

Without wishing to burst Mr Key’s bubble, could someone tell him that NZ hasn’t won a world cup sionce 1987, so there is 10 years of male PM/no world cup action going on there as well.
