More Spencer Trust details

September 6th, 2008 at 10:26 am by David Farrar

Firstly remember this quote:

When NZ First leader Winston Peters was asked in July if the party was funded by a trust that sometimes paid party bills, he said through a spokesman it was “a lie”.

Now read the latest details:

  • $50,000 donation in 2005
  • $17,000 of NZ First bills paid in 2005
  • $87,648 of NZ First bills paid in 2006
  • $80,000 donation in 2007

The says it has paid $234,000 to or on behlf of NZ First since 2005. And during that time NZ First has filed three nil donations returns.

Helen presumably still says it was an innocent administrative error.

perhaps the spokesman made a verbal administrative error… he/she should have said it was a liekley (sic) scenario.

Pooh has incurable mythomania. And 5% of us think he’s fit to determine our country’s future. Incredible.

As a Mr W. Peters once said “The more we dig into the paperwork surrounding these affairs, the more dirt we find. It’s time something significant was done to stop abominations like this”.

If she says it’s an innocent administrative error then it IS, boy, and don’t you dare to contradict her. Ever.

This sorry show demonstrates just how hard it is going to be for the centre right this election. Clark is up to the eyeballs in this. She is as hypocritical as Peters, she is clearly running interference to secure another shonky piece of legislation and making a mockery of the democratic process. But where is the media. Sure a few references hear and there but when the PM of a country is behaving the way she has recently ,the media should be all over her. Short of actually being prosecuted herself, the media will give her an easy, easy ride. Very sad. Time to bring out the bananas.

Will the police and other authorities actually prosecute Winston & friends, or will they ignore illegal acts as has been the usual practice over the last 9 years? Apart from Taito Philip Field, every other Labour criminal, including Helen, has either got away scot free or made laws to make the illegal legal.

I think that Helen will throw Winston to the sharks if she has no further use for him. In that case the sharks will probably exercise professional courtesy and leave him alone.

kiwipolemicist – It will be famine or feast for those circling sharks. I believe that the key players have varying levels of dirt on each other, nicely stashed away as rainy-day leverage. Picture Clark, Peters, Broad each holding two handguns pointed at their other two…

Unfortunately the association with Winston, and the fact Helen knew from February that he is lying, has not been reflected in the latest polls. So he won’t be thrown to the sharks yet.
Your only hope at the moment is that Owen Glenn isn’t coming personally out to New Zealand to just make a few jovial remarks and smooth things over.

Yvette, His ego is equal to the others and there is no way he is going to made the fall guy for them. What has he to lose other than his Monaco title. There is only one boss in his company and guys like him don’t get that big in business without a few tussles along the way so you can bet he is fired up over the crapping on his reputation. He will exact revenge on both of them unless of course they both (Helen & Winny), get their heads together and arrange a deal to his liking. Most unlikely I would say.
