  1. Biggest Wretch: Winston Peters
  2. Biggest Flirts: Margaret Wilson & Rodney Hide
  3. Best Valedictory Speech: Katherine Rich
  4. Best Smile: Sue Bradford
  5. Best Impersonation of Eternal Youth: David Parker
  6. Cruellest Wit: Michael Cullen
  7. Best Debater: Michael Cullen
  8. Most Acute Ears: Bill English
  9. Best Reply: Tau Henare

That reminds me I must start the traditional Kiwiblog poll for Best MP shortly.

Don’t agree with Katherine Rich for 3, Swain gave the best valedictory speech.

Who the hell is Steve Braunias?? Probably just another commie propagandist posing as a journalist. Example-
(His [Winston's] apparent failure to disclose the $100,000 gift from Owen Glenn seems a far lesser sin than John Key’s self-serving and brazenly dishonest attempts to conceal his Tranz Rail shares.) Whaaaat???

This is (IMHO) an embarrassingly weak article.

Having read his work across several publications over a number of years I was prepared to write off any political awards by Steve Braunias as being hopelessly tainted by Labour-loving sentiment. But to be fair, apart from the crazy sentence that Redbaiter points to it’s a good read.

Loved his allusion to Winston Peters being a “A mad gorilla beating the jungle floor, crazed and incoherent, deliberately obtuse”. A mad gorilla crazily beating the jungle floor is just right for Winnie.

    And this is priceless …

“BEST IMPERSONATION OF A MAD AND CONSTIPATED POTENTATE WEARING WHAT LOOKED LIKE A BEATLES WIG: HELEN CLARK.
Actually, that was just on Wednesday. Maybe it was just a bad hair day.”

  8. 3-coil (1,144) Says:

Steve (“did I tell you my father was imprisoned on Soames Island?”) Braunias is one of the weakest lefty hacks, only surviving becuase of his editor/partner’s favouritism.

He would have seen no wrong with Winston’s undeclared secret cash payments as Braunias himself was caught out soliciting freebies while writing one of his puerile articles recently.

And did he mention…his father was imprisoned on Soames Island you know…

I can’t believe Rich gloated over the supposed great work of Sue Bradford.

I don’t know what you see in Rich DPF. I think she is weak, dilusional and ended up in the wrong party.

    National is better without her.

  13. Rodders (1,790) Says:

Talking of Winston Peters, did many people witness his eccentric performance on ‘Agenda’ this morning ?

He complained that he had been assured that he would be allowed to have the last word and objected to Nevil Gibson and Bevan Rapson staying on after his appearance. Rawdon later announced that Mr Peters had agreed to leave on the condition that he would not be discussed by the panellists during the remainder of the show.

Truth really is stranger than fiction !
