Its just round the corner from my house, and it looks like absolute shit, especially at night. Very hard to tell what it is from the road – terrible design.

That said, Askew’s writing looks great!

LOL, I’m another who doesn’t get it. I presume the billboard was put up last? Mimicking the “Here Comes Trouble” that was already on the wall below?

Or has somebody tagged the wall below copying National’s billboard?

It just looks like National has descended to the level of tagging either way – not a clear message at all 🙁

I suspect there is a point to “outsiders” (most probably those OLDER than the taggers) not being able to read it.

Yes. In a huge contrast with the last election, National may win despite its billboards. I get the feeling they tried so hard not to be controversial “like last time”, that in the end they have no punch at all. You can just see a disaffected Labour voter reading them and going “You know what? That makes perfect sense. National it is.”

And “get them into training not into trouble” is a very laboured way to reinvent “a kid in sport stays out of court”. (Yes, I realise it also covers vocational training).

Just like last election’s National billboards had near universal praise of its SUPPORTERS, it seems to be the reverse this time.

If you can’t read that then I’d suggest you get your arse down to the optician, quicksmart. Take your eyes with you though, he’ll need to see them.

Do you all have the sight of a deadbeat, 57 year old, drug addicted troll?

I think it’s ok as a billboard, better than some airbrushed picture of the bearded lady.

Petal, this is the tactic for the entire campaign. No offence to anybody or anything at all for the campaign. Ineffective billboards that cannot offend anybody, policies that cannot upset the mainstream populace and supporting whoever seems the most safe and non threatening.

Nope, as Zippy says, they improved on the font. One font looks authentic, the other don’t. But then, I would say that.

This wall has been painted for many years by the graffiti artists in the picture.

National posted the bill board strategically above the graffiti with their pointed message.

The graffiti in the picture above was done after the billboard was erected; so the graffiti is in response to the billboard.

Billboard reads: “Get them into training, not into trouble. Nationals youth guarantee”.

The kids tell me all the billboards around here that feature the great one have been “touched up”. Seems Dear Leader looks great with horns, missing teeth, glasses, warts, all manner of beards and many unspeakable words. Such is the love for our leader.
