I wonder, if it was a US evangelical Christian Group and no doubt there are many groups there who say the same thing, whether you’d headline it as:
“The true sign the US is heading back to the dark side?”
I know it’s only humour, but many a true word….
BTW Ryan, Evangelical does not always equal Fundamentalist.

Next they’ll be setting up missile-defence networks in countries neighbouring the US. Warmongers!

I’m aware, though the distinction is tending towards obsolescence. Pentecostalism attracts/inspires far more fundamentalism than many other forms of Christianity.
Having said that, the Catholics tried to get a Southpark episode banned too, so who knows.

It would be easier to judge that if we knew what time they were currently showing South Park. If they are showing it at 7:30pm I can certainly see the problem. If it is at 11pm, when the children should be in bed anyway, that may be a different matter.
For that matter, if there are only a couple of free to air channels so little alternative for parents who don’t want their children to watch it that could be a problem, but if there are 20 free to air channels with other options for children to watch at the same time there would be much less of a problem.
We don’t have the full story, there may be more in behind the request for a ban than we realise when we consider it from a NZ perspective.

Actually, the fact that you even have a Russian Union of Christians of Evangelical Faith shows that Russia has come a long way from “the dark side”, in the bad old days they would have been shot.

Mr Dennis is a Communist sympathiser. Pass it on.

Mr Dennis, I doubt there is anybody on this supposedly independent committee who is not deep in the pocket of the KGB.

Good point pushmepullu, you could well be right.

The KGB using their resources to get South Park off cos the Christians/the parents don’t like it? Mighty —> Fallen.
Incidentally they’re the FSB now.
