On another note…wouldn’t now be a good time to raise the Anti-Smacking Bill referendum?

We need more contentious issues being discussed right up until the election, that really keeps Labour/Greens on the back-foot (other than shower heads). Behind closed doors I’ve heard that JK is really all for repealing it.

And while we are at it, let’s get rid of Civil Unions or at least make sure that in these marriages they are NEVER allowed to adopt!

Eco Bulbs – though they rattled on about something other than toxicity.

everything else mostly ignored. So if he says it’s the biggest of all of them, they’d be hard pushed to ignore, but they’ll certainly try.

Expat – I’m starting to get a little concerned with your focus on meat and BBQ’s.

You’re home now, relax, let the outdoor cooking flow, it will come to you.

Beercan chicken is my favourite barbie dish BTW.

You need –

1 Chicken (free range size 20 is good, 2 meals for our family)
1 can of beer
1 BBQ with hood

Open can of beer, drink 1/3rd
Insert can of beer up chickens bum. ie sit chicken on can of beer
Pre heat BBQ to around 175
Place chicken upright on BBQ plate with the burners on either side going but not the one underneath chicken.
Cook for around 80 -90 minutes.

Enjoy the sweet, moist loving that is Beercan Chicken.

Homemade ones! Buy some good pork, beef, or lamb, mince it roughly and add herbs and spices as needed. My favourite is Toulouse sausage:

“A small coarse textured sausage, originating in France, made of pork, smoked bacon, wine, garlic, and other seasonings. It can be eaten on its own or added to other dishes. Toulouse sausage is generally prepared by braising, frying, or grilling.”

The Maori seats issue is not important this election
Once they get past 5% of the vote they won’t need the seats anyway

So why did it become an issue again yesterday?
Because John Key performed so well in the debate.

National are having to fight this election against the media as well as Helen Clark
Yesterday, where was the line by line, word for word interrogation of Helen’s recent massive blunders?

What exactly was she inferring by telling John he might get away shouting at home but not at her
Why was her only response when asked during the debate about 50% of Maori boys leaving school without even level 1 NCEA to say that Labour are organizing more apprenticeships etc
Under Labour, aren’t Maori kids allowed to aspire to professional jobs or university?

These are the real questions
Not trying to second guess a conversation between John Key and Pita Sharples
Although you have to say, if the Maori seats are now a back issue, the Maori Party have just got out of National something they would never get out of Labour – a concession.
Which is why they would have much more power getting together with National after the election.

Speaking of Peters, i was having a chat last night and i recalled that after the 96 election it appeared that Labour/NZ First were going to do a deal, but it fell over due to them not getting enough votes to govern and NZ First ended up going with Bolger.
I only raise this because i think it’s time we put to bed any notion that NZ First is anyway representative of “the right”, but is instead another bunch of lefties in drag. It also reinforces the idea that a vote for NZ First=Labour government.

Actually Neil labour did have enough votes. Peters was negotiating with both parties and both thought they had a deal until he announced he was going with labour. I was driving his brother around during the six weeks we hung in limbo. My wife meanwhile who worked in money moarkets was told to expect a lot of over time if he went with labour because they’d be busy processing all the money going offshore.

Winston First is neither left nor right, they are the party of complete self interest and baubles.

Talking about BBQs …
Here is a right cullenary delight for a November barbeque.
First give the circling mallard a king hit before it gets the drop on you. You will not need to hang it for long – you will find it’s already has an unpleasant air about it.
Next find your clarking chicken in the street and quickly put paid to its squawking. You will not need to remove the feathers because it’s already well and truly plucked. Don’t bother trying to sex the bird – you will find that too confusing. Carefully detach and remove the tizards.
Place birds in a roasting dish and park er to one side for the moment.
Dys on some mindless vegetables as supporters for the dish, then and er ton of salt to improve the taste.
Place your birds on hot hobbes to make them sweat, then turn up the heat some more.
Cook until well dunne.
Cart er up and serve – a meal fit for a king!

Talking about Winston Raymond Peters soon to be ex MP for anything, can someone tell me the rules regarding election signs?
Specifically, what authorization statement is required? Will Winstonpeters.com suffice?
More specifically, if you are standing as a list candidate (as Peters is) are you allowed to confuse voters by displaying signs that clearly show big tick Peters and big tick NZF.

Now I’m no expert but to me these signs are not correct and should be ordered down. So perhaps someone in the Act Party or the National Party may wish to have a look at all of Mr Peters signs around Tauranga for they display two ticks, one to Peters and one for the party and as far as I can see no authorization. (last elections bill boards.)
wouldn’t it be fun if Winston Raymond had to spend a couple of days taking down his signs. No campaign committee left to do the work. He He.)

Paul: third way policies. Isn’t there normally another word in that phrase? Ah, that’s right. FAILED third way policies. Like those in the US that tried to combine capitalism with the government directing banks who to lend to. How did that work out?

Key pissed nearly everyone off this week. Hmm. Let me list who he pissed off:
– Labour and all the labour cheer squad – by winning the debate
– Helen, by not breaking down and crying in the debate
– the Maori party, by agreeing that abolishing the Maori seats after all historical grievances are settled isn’t a bottom line policy
– NZers in general, by suggesting that the Cullen fund would be forced to invest 40% into NZ (gazumping Cullen’s upcoming policy, so he had to do a flip flop)

You’re right. Clearly he is toast what with behaving like this.

No, Lab/NZF had 54 seats. The only way they could have formed a government was with the Alliance. As much as many NZF voters thought they were getting rid of National by voting NZF the only viable option was National/NZF with 61 seats. It’s a salient lesson for this election – you must vote for the party you want in power because you never know what some other whack-job is going to do to screw up your choice.

No, as soon as you turn up the heat they spit vile stuff at anyone and everyone. Look at Helen after making a fool of herself at the leaders debate – not her fault of course because Key wouldn’t let her run the show and neither did Sainsbury.

Both of these gentlemen should have known that Helen is in charge and she is always right – how stupid of them to expect her to act like a reasonable human being.

It’s desperate because, apart from being untrue, it shows he can’t make any ground promoting his own policies.

Perhaps we should be a bit careful now. Audrey Young of all people has coined the phrase of John’s “tranzrail lying eyes” in reference to the Sharples thing. Could be a bit tricky for John. And there are questions being asked about the actual job of a money exchange dealer. What is it exactly? Anyway John did well in the Leaders Debate but I hope that they don’t find a way of turning off the mikes when things get dodgy.

Thanks for showing me the lengths the left go to. It brings up so many questions as to why?
What caused the left to target him in such a manner?. Was his statement incorrect about Obamas tax policy? Was it the simple fact that Joes statement (which is a real worry for alot of people) was a threat to Obamas election campaign?

Character assasination works so well for the left that they end up not having to debate the issue.

Reminds me of Palin,Key,Brash…etc etc etc

In fact, I will give you “Pinch Yourself”, by Melanie Phillips, because she says it so well:

“The contrast between, on the one hand, the huge amount of material about Obama’s radical associations that has been published in on-line journals and in a few brave newspapers, and on the other the refusal by big media to address it and to vilify those who do, becomes more astounding by the day. The Obamaniacs are spinning the relationship between Obama and William Ayers, former of Weather Undergound Terrorism Inc, as of no consequence because this was supposedly a chance acquaintance and because the educational project they worked on, the Annenberg Challenge, was a worthy one.

Stanley Kurtz now nails that canard by showing how, through the Annenberg Challenge, Obama and Ayers channelled funds to extremist anti-American Afrocentric ‘educational’ programmes which were a carbon-copy of the world view of Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s black racist mentor who, under pressure, Obama was forced to repudiate. These programmes promoted, amongst other radical ideas, the ‘rites of passage’ philosophy which attempted to create a ‘virtually separate and intensely anti-American black social world’ in order to ‘counter the potentially detrimental effects of a Eurocentrically oriented society.’ One such teacher taught that

‘The submission to Western civilization and its most outstanding offspring, American civilization, is, in reality, surrender to white supremacy.’

Kurtz concludes:

However he may seek to deny it, all evidence points to the fact that, from his position as board chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Barack Obama knowingly and persistently funded an educational project that shared the extremist and anti-American philosophy of Jeremiah Wright.

No surprise there, since back in June Kurtz pointed to evidence that Obama shared the black racism of the Trinity United Church of Christ. In this article Obama was reported as rejecting ‘integrationist assimilation’ and wanting to channel black rage more effectively into political organisation. Kurtz dug out a chapter in a 1990 book called After Alinsky: Community Organizing in Illinois in which Obama sketched out how radical black churches could be harnessed to help radicalise the black population. As Kurtz wrote:

So it would appear that Obama’s own writings solve the mystery of why he stayed at Trinity for 20 years. Obama’s long-held and decidedly audacious hope has been to spread Wright’s radical spirit by linking it to a viable, left-leaning political program, with Obama himself at the center. The revolutionizing power of a politically awakened black church is not some side issue, or merely a personal matter, but has been the signature theme of Obama’s grand political strategy.

Those few brave souls who do try to enlighten the public about all this come up against the kind of intimidation by Camp Obama charted here by Michael Barone:

Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg’s WGN radio program in Chicago. Mr. Kurtz had been researching Mr. Obama’s relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers in Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers in the Richard J. Daley Library in Chicago – papers that were closed off to him for some days, apparently at the behest of Obama supporters. Obama fans jammed WGN’s phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest e-mails. The message was clear to anyone who would follow Mr. Rosenberg’s example. We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.

Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Mr. Obama that were ‘false.’ I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-’02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Mr. Obama’s ties to Mr. Ayers.

No such threats, of course, will be made against this new book whose publication is tactfully timed for next year so as not to frighten the horses — Race Course Against White Supremacy, by none other than William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

Meanwhile, it turns out that not only did Obama do favours for convicted Chicago fraudster Tony Rezko, but as this story reports Alexi Giannoulias, who reputedly bankrolled Michael ‘Jaws’ Giorango, a Chicagoan twice convicted of bookmaking and promoting prostitution, became Illinois state treasurer last year after Obama vouched for him, and has now has pledged to raise $100,000 for Obama’s campaign.

You have to pinch yourself – a Marxisant radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it’s considered impolite to say so.”

Your article is either rhetoric or garbage. Could easily be a Republican Recruitment Brochure (in fact it probably is)

You ought to broaden your mind and read some more balanced bloggers/reporters. Try RealClearPolitics.

BTW: Have you actually checked out who else was on the board of the Annenberg Foundation and are you going to suggest they are all palling around with terrorist?

And are you as upset about McCains associations, specifically Gordon Liddy?

Some of you guys are complete hypocrites. You barrack for your side of the political debate like they were a league team regardless of who’s playing.

Besides, your turn of phrase is far too generic to constitute any meaningful description. Try being a little more specific.

That is not to say that generic descriptions may not be applied when describing members of the media generally. For example, the phrase “indolent, sycophantic and particularly stupid pinko git” has widespread application at this time. Nevertheless, it doesn’t readily identify the person to whom such criticism is directed.

On a completely different topic, the TV One News editors prove they really are a bunch of fuckheads by airing in the very first 6:00 segment tonight, in the midst of both a US and NZ election and the worst financial crisis in living memory, a story on how Tom Cruise is rumoured by some blogs to have died at Kauri Cliffs. Not that he has, it’s just a rumour.

FFS you fucking fuckity fuck fuckhead moron fucks.

How about giving us a modicum of NEWs?????? It’s called journalism.

Yes it would Paul, and I rather suspect the fact he hadn’t was known by the editors prior to their slot-placement decision.

I agree it was a thrilling roller-coaster of a story but I and I suspect others have many other important things I’m currently giving a shit about and that wasn’t one of them.
