Jordan’s election scorecard Add this story to Scoopit!.

Jordan Carter is helpfully blogging a daily analysis of the campaign, and which party won the day. The summary is:

Day 1: Labour
Day 2: Labour
Day 3: Mixed
Day 4: Labour
Day 5-8: Mixed
Day 9: no rating
Day 10: Labour
Day 11: Labour
Day 12: Labour
Day 13: Labour
Day 14-15: Labour by a nose

So in Jordan’s world, National hasn’t won a single day of the campaign. Oh the rose tinted spectacles must be surgically attached.

Why would you blog a daily contest just to declare the party you are a candidate for the winner (or mixed) every day?

Why would you read Jordon’s blog? It doesn’t change.

  2. Redbaiter (8811) Says:

“Why would you blog a daily contest just to declare the party you are a candidate for the winner (or mixed) every day?”

Just another day in leftist la la land. They’re all the same. Mindless believers. Propagandists and power seekers, detached completely from the realities of everyday life. Unable to know the difference between an assertion and a fact. Troglodytes- utterly past their use by date.

  3. 16a Highbury Rd (27) Says:

    Hilarious.

Does he do a scorecard for which candidate in his electorate is winning? If he does I can guess how it goes… me, me, me, me, me, me, mixed (I spent the day at home dancing to the Village people , Kylie Minogue, and shagging fellas) me, me…..

  4. Lindsay Addie (846) Says:

The left are so busy trying to smear Key they cannot see the wood from the trees anymore.

  7. Adolf Fiinkensein (1370) Says:

He did the same thing for Saddam as the Yanks were rolling into Baghdad, you know. Ended in suicide.

  8. alex Masterley (333) Says:

    LA, your 4.23.
Just had a look. Is that all? 20+ years ago for gods sake? They must be desparate.

  9. Lindsay Addie (846) Says:

    Alex M,

Exactly, when I first read it I was bitterly disappointed. I was hoping for something saucy and salacious. not yawn inducing stuff like that!!

  10. expat (2968) Says:

And sending Mike Williams ‘in person’ to Australia to research records! Roll out the big guns!

Or is he going cap in hand to the Australian Labour Party Strategists….

  11. Murray (4521) Says:

Are the pages of his score cards stuck together because I’m sensing a lot of jerking off in his assesment.

  12. dave (688) Says:

You can be sure on November 8 there will be “no rating”

  13. Redbaiter (8811) Says:

Why don’t the leftwing media ever provide an expose of Helen Klark’s antics 20 years ago, including her links to terrorist groups and murdering left wing insurgency groups?

    Bernard Moran wrote in 1999

“When Filipino Intelligence officers raided an underground safe house in Manila on the night of March 24, 1988, they not only captured leading hard liners of the Communist Party of the Philippines New Peoples’ Army, but also 97 computer discs. I have in my possession a photocopy of a three-page document from one of those discs. It is headed ‘Workshop 1: Party to Party Relations, June 13, 1986′.

It deals with overseas work and those who are in consultation with the International Department of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). On page three, line eight, Helen Clark is listed as the ‘individual link’ for New Zealand.”

  14. jackp (348) Says:

Gosh, when they think they can trash John Key suddenly the news looks like it is doing some “investigating reporting.” I can’t read the article because it is too complicated but they won’t publish Fitzsimons ties to the communist party in Australia. I just can’t believe this crap!!

  15. J Mex (67) Says:

At least nobody can ever accuse him of being inconsistent…

Jordan earlier blogged that he hadn’t had time to actually watch the leaders debate but called it for Helen anyway.

  16. Rex Widerstrom (2406) Says:

Jordan is to blogging what the Sunday Star Times is to journalism… a self-indulgent load of twaddle lacking the self-awareness of, say the Sunday News. As a result the people whom it desperately wishes would read it think it laughable and the people who might otherwise read it think it pretentious.

  17. Murray (4521) Says:

Thats a round about way of saying what I said Rex.

  18. spector (131) Says:

Am I missing something with the Herald story?

As far as I can tell all it says is that someone in a company that Key was working for was involved in something dodgy. But that person wasn’t John Key who left the company either before or in the middle of the dodgy stuff that someone else was doing.

Seriously, the Herald article had the phrase “Smoking Gun” in the title… but the article didn’t contain any gun or any smoke?

  19. Spam (418) Says:

Gee… So when Winston Peters was telling anyone who would listen that dirt on Key was forthcoming, he was actually just telling us that his campaign strategy is inextricably linked to that of labour.

  20. ben (627) Says:

Why would you blog a daily contest just to declare the party you are a candidate for the winner (or mixed) every day?

Because the man is convinced politics is entirely about perception.

  21. dime (1797) Says:

spector – i had to reread the thing…

key says he was on gardening leave

turns out he left 6 months after the scandal but ummmm how long was he on gardening leave?

they also brag our mike liar williams flew to melbourne to dig up dirt HAHAHAH

  22. side show bob (2168) Says:

I think I’ll send Jordan a couple of meters of strong rope and a shaky three legged chair, he will need them on the 8th.

  23. Ratbiter (1265) Says:

“Why would you blog a daily contest just to declare the party you are a candidate for the winner (or mixed) every day?”

Quite unlike anything that would ever happen on “kiwi” blog!!!!!

[DPF: When have I ever made a post like that? I think I called the debate for Key but other than that I don't go in for the "Team X is winning" crap. Partly because professionaly it is difficult for me to do so, but also because I think declaring your own side as "winning" all the time is silly]

  24. Murray (4521) Says:

    Whaaa whaaa.

    Didums ratly.

  25. Craig Ranapia (1784) Says:

Why would you blog a daily contest just to declare the party you are a candidate for the winner (or mixed) every day?

Because Jordan would like a long-term career in the Labour Party, and political suicide by blog isn’t a pretty way to go?

  26. Murray (4521) Says:

Pretty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I’d call it pay for view Craig.

  27. Craig Ranapia (1784) Says:

Am I missing something with the Herald story?

Lunchgate? This has serious backlash potential if National and Key doesn’t fuck it up. After all, what do you think John and Joanna Q Citizen really want the focus of the campaign on — the biggest shitstorm to hit the global economy in eighty years, or whether John Key had perfect recall of a lunch date twenty years ago? And I note that this story was very careful NOT to allege any criminal wrongdoing on Key’s part.

Murray: Bitch! Your Michael Cullen impersonation is almost perfect, just don’t do it around small children, pregnant women or open flames. :)

  28. Murray (4521) Says:

It wasn’t careful about bugger all else.

Is their editorial department registered as an election expense for labour?

  29. Gary2 (9) Says:

    “No tag for this post.”

I could suggest some – Delusions, Wishful thinking, Denial…

  30. Redbaiter (8811) Says:

“Quite unlike anything that would ever happen on “kiwi” blog!!!!!”

Once again your thinking is woefully simplistic and juvenile. There is no opportunity for comparison at all. Kiwiblog has not embarked upon any similar undertaking, that by its very nature implies that Jordan would need to be objective, when its is so patently obvious he is not.

  31. sonic (2674) Says:

Key told the Herald he left the company in 1987, the allegation is that he did not in fact leave until June 1998 (in other words a he was there during the fraud)

If it checks out we have two possible explanations

    1. He is too stupid to remember when he left

    2. For some reason he lied about it.

Of course you guys can blame the evil media, but most ordinary people would like an answer Craig.

  32. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

So as well as John key being personally responsible for the current Global Economic meltdown, after he left Merril Lynch 8 years ago.

Labour are trying to pin him on the ’80s economic fisaco?

Pity he didn’t have lunch at Kermadec. There would have been no payment receipts?

    Scampi anybody?

  33. Ratbiter (1265) Says:

“Kiwiblog has not embarked upon any similar undertaking”

  34. Cactus Kate (228) Says:

Oh please….this is the same Jordan Carter whose is rated so highly by his own Party after years of butt kissing that his list ranking is exactly equal to Sir Roger Douglas’ age?

  35. slightlyrighty (1322) Says:

Given that this story was put to bed in August, I can only assume that Labour have run out of ’scandals’

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10459777

I mean the man was, what, 25 years old at the time.

Labour are obviously dumb and desperate. One can only wonder what labour’s internal polling is telling it!

  36. sonic (2674) Says:

    So slighty it’s a non-story.

Therefore why did Key lie about when he left the firm?

  37. slightlyrighty (1322) Says:

    Sonic.

Dates can be easily confused. For example, one could be typing June 1988, and type June 1998, like YOU JUST DID!

    Dumbass….

  38. GPT1 (1025) Says:

Sonic – or 3. he left, as he said, before the transfers and was unaware of a previous transfer in Australia with today being the first time he had heard of it. There will inevitably inconsistencies. There always are. People have different recollections – who is correct may not even be evidence of who is telling the truth. This is bottom of the barrel stuff and an example of just how desperate Labour are.

  39. sonic (2674) Says:

    Poor John is very forgetful
” He said in the interview last year he was able to back-up Mr Richards’ story that Mr Jarrett was in the country because he – Mr Key – had paid for the lunch and had the credit card bill to prove it.

In fact, the court records show that Mr Richards paid for the lunch, not Mr Key…Mr Key said today that he always held the belief that the credit card used was his, but conceded it could well have been Mr Richards’”

  40. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

Labours internal polling is getting worse every day!

    Nicey.

  41. Rex Widerstrom (2406) Says:

    Murray complains:

Thats a round about way of saying what I said Rex.

Not quite, but if it was, I did it with more panache :-P LOL

  42. Lindsay Addie (846) Says:

    sonic,

Have you not got better things to worry about than who paid for Key’s lunches 20 years ago?

And the Standard 2.0 has managed to be consistently diplomatic and even handed?

This is unashamedly a right wing blog. WTF do you actually expect.

FFS if it upsets you, go away in short jerky movements and don’t darken our blog again!

However you are being paid to come on here and distract us, so I guess you will continue reading our rubbish!

  46. Redbaiter (8811) Says:

Same old same old- forget about the policies. Dream up some means of making a false allegation, a smear and get your media plants to run with it. Make the election all about that rather than the fact that Labour are crooks who have squandered NZ’s good fortune in a display of mismanagement that is always so typical of political parties that rely on university lecturers, union leaders and school teachers to develop policy. This is just Don Brash and the Brethren all over again, and its about time the media were seriously called out on their attachment to the Labour party. Just dishonest smearing cowards. Anti-democratic frauds liars and cronyists the lot of them.

  47. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

“Just pointing out that you glorious leader seems to have the memory of a senile goldfish”

    tsk tsk tsk.

And the AXIS of Weevil has the sharpest memory banks? You are pathetic.

Pity your internal polling consistently shows National over 55% and gaining this week.

Situations Vacant has never been so interesting Sonic?

  48. sonic (2674) Says:

Poor Ratbiter, sounds like he needs a cup of tea and a nice lie down.

  49. Nefarious (398) Says:

Who the fuck remembers exactly when they left a job 20 years ago and who bought lunch?

I’ll be fucking lucky if I can remember much at all about what happened when I was 25, but I do remember I was banging a smoking hot 19 year old.

  50. kaykaybee (68) Says:

the man is shamelessly a Labour toady, and he’s also braindead.

  51. Nefarious (398) Says:

    Or maybe she was 20?

    I forget.

  52. sonic (2674) Says:

“I’ll be fucking lucky if I can remember much at all about what happened when I was 25,”

I’d guess that your CV is not to be trusted then?

  53. sonic (2674) Says:

“Pity your internal polling consistently shows National over 55% and gaining this week”

I don’t know how to break it to you but I don’t actually have any internal polling. However since you claim to have access to Labour’s internal polling it is you that is working for the party, or you are just making stuff up?

    Which is it GM?

  54. Nefarious (398) Says:

Nefarious has no need for a CV for he is nefarious. That is all you need to know.

And what’s a fake doctorate or two amongst mates? eh?

  55. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

“The former Serious Fraud Office (SFO) director, Charles Sturt, said on August 25, 2007, that Mr Key was not involved in the H-Fee scam.

The SFO interviewed Mr Key about it, and Mr Sturt said he was one of many innocent people in a massive fact-gathering exercise.

“It should not need to be said that John Key was completely innocent of any wrongdoing whatsoever,” Mr Sturt said.

“For any politician to hint or suggest otherwise would be absolute rubbish and pure mischief-making.”

    - NZPA”

So Sonic, and the real story is mischief making by a desperate Labour/Winston First AXIS.

    Awesome.

The Internal polling has your sphincter twitching? Ah Bless!

  56. NeillR (323) Says:

Jordan’s been a spinner ever since the days of usenet. I see he hasn’t changed.

  57. Whafe (366) Says:

My heart bleeds copious amounts of puss for these lefties…….

it seems people in the land of the long white cloud only make voting choices on whats in it for themselves, not the greater good of the whole shooting box….

  58. PaulL (3090) Says:

I’m missing the point of the Herald story at all – other than to prove Chris Trotter’s mistake in suggesting the media are supporting National.

So far as I can see the story is:
    – John Key asserted he left before the payment in question
    – He did leave before the second payment
    – He didn’t know about the first payment, and therefore didn’t know he hadn’t left before it
    – He didn’t know about it because someone in Australia processed it
    – So there is no question that he was involved – basically the story is that he didn’t comment on something because he didn’t know about it.

What a waste of everyone’s time.

  59. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

Sonic, am I accountable to you in any way whatsoever?

Do I care what you think or do at all?

As a taxpayer, I believe that you are my employee.

Just do as you are told, and fuck off!

  60. Redbaiter (8811) Says:

“I’d guess that your CV is not to be trusted then?”

You’d have no such memory problems with your CV would you Sonic?

Born 1928 in miserable colliery town in UK

1933- Went to skool and learned to hate kapitalism

1950- left skool and went to university on bursary provided by kapitalist

1970- left university with degree in hating kapitalism

1980- After short period on dole began work for the dole scheme as gummint bureaucrat

1981- Realised that the socialists had fucked the UK and emigrated to New Zealand

1995- After short period on dole began work for the dole scheme as gummint bureaucrat. Also worked voluntarily for the Labour party implementing same policies in NZ that had fucked the UK.

2000- Retired from work for the dole scheme

Plans for 2009- Realize that the socialists have fucked NZ and emigrate to Australia

  61. Glutaemus Maximus (2207) Says:

PaulL you are wrong because our faithless liitle drone Sonic says so!

Helen Clark has a lot to answer for by approving 500+ pipsqueeks to harass the media and us.

Do I go on the Commie blogs? No, because I do not care about their deluded view of life!

Can I be bothered trying to convince hordes of taxpayer funded spindoctors that I have the right view? No because they are paid to lie, obfusicate, dent, denigrate, and prejure themselves

  62. Dyannt (8) Says:

SlightlyRightly wrote: I mean the man was, what, 25 years old at the time.

Now SR, I would suggest you get your facts straight. It is mentioned in other parts of the media Key was actually 26 at the time. You are obviously trying to mislead us or you are outright lying.
I suggest you come up with a good reason for the action you have taken and make a note of your amended story, because, who knows you may need to remember the details and explain yourself to the national media in 2028.

  63. double d (37) Says:

nefarious – that was funny man!
for gods sake – the labradors ARE desperate if that is all they have. Neutron bomb – what a joke

  64. David Farrar (1282) Says:

    Redbaiter: Very funny.

  65. clintheine (862) Says:

Remember, Jordan is refusing to blog about his Hunua campaign as well. If we did a report card on his campaign it would read like this:

Day One – Helped hand leaflets in Auckland Central for Auntie Judith
Day Two – Put up election hoardings in Auckland Central
Day Three – Cry about internal polling that has Judith losing to Nationals Nicki Kaye in Auckland Central
Day Four – Deliberately walked around the edge of Hunua boundary to avoid being caught electioneering in his own electorate.

That boy doesn’t have a clue. I suspect he has been told by HQ to give up his election and get on board saving Judith from political extinction!

  66. Lindsay Addie (846) Says:

Has anyone asked Jordan who won the campaign battle today?

Sure wasn’t Helen or her Poodle!

  67. OECD rank 22 kiwi (2143) Says:

Why would you blog a daily contest just to declare the party you are a candidate for the winner (or mixed) every day?

    Because Jordan Carter is retarded.

  68. Craig Ranapia (1784) Says:

Key told the Herald he left the company in 1987, the allegation is that he did not in fact leave until June 1998 (in other words a he was there during the fraud)

Sonic: I worked at a company while, as it turned out, one of my co-workers was stealing thousands of dollars from the company and committing welfare fraud. Charges were brought well after I left, and fifteen years later I don’t have a fucking clue whether the offenses were committed entirely or only partially during my tenure. If you even implied I had anything to do with his offending — or that my less than perfect recall of events fifteen years ago — means I was a party to his fraud, you’d be getting a curt letter from Sue, Grabbitt and Runne in short order.

Meanwhile, I think people are rather more concerned about the shitstorm going down today than who John Key had lunch with twenty years ago. Why doesn’t Labour want to spend, effectively, the last week of the campaign talking about their achievements and their agenda for the future?

  69. Sushi Goblin (412) Says:

Jordan has such a track record at picking winners.

    http://jtc.blogs.com/just_left/2007/07/akl-again.html

  70. Gooner (663) Says:

    Sonic, you’re totally wrong.

H-Fee involved two payments. The first never went through Elders. Therefore Key couldn’t have been involved even if he had wanted to.

However the kingpins decided to put the second payment through Elders. It went through *after* Key had left. Did you get that? Key wasn’t there when the fraud was committed. So you are factually wrong to the tune of 100%.

  71. NeillR (323) Says:

Day 16: Labour shoots themselves in the foot. Nose becomes irrelevant.

  72. dave strings (608) Says:

    Glutaemus Maximus

    gud on yer gurl

  73. OECD rank 22 kiwi (2143) Says:

Jordan is a terrific job of being a sad case loser. Learning from Hels me thinks.

  74. Redbaiter (8811) Says:

    “Redbaiter: Very funny.”

Thank you Mr. Farrar. Actually, I think Sonic did have a bit of a fling with private enterprise once, when he had the brilliant idea of starting a lemming farm. Soon went broke tho because the stock kept offing themselves. Michael Cullen helped him with the business plan.
