New Green billboards

October 29th, 2008 at 3:10 pm by David Farrar

The Greens have a facility to create your own Green billboard. I have not used it, but a reader has been, and sent me these:

I’d say Blanket Man is definitely a Green voter.

What may happen if Keith Locke is Minister of Finance in a Labour-Green Government!

So if the one on the right is meant to represent Jeanette, does that make Russel the one on the left?

Their spokesperson is Fitzsimons though! I think Cullen would rather put an old fish in his jacket pocket next budget time than let a Green be the Minister though :-D

  15. Rex Widerstrom (4,971) Says:

Sonic, has it ever occurred to you that the people responsible for the present financial mess are not capitalists at all? The capitalists are the people helplessly watching their investments go down the gurgler, or watching the small business they own become precarious and possibly uneconomic. The money shufflers and the corporate CEOs aren’t capitalists because they’re insulated from risk. They receive their salaries (and sometimes even bonuses) even when they lose money.

Shareholder power has been being lost to the managerial elites for centuries now, accompanied by loss of political power by parliament to the executive.

As they stand at present, capitalism and socialism (if you can call what Locke would practice if in a position of power socialism, which I doubt) have become competing ideologies about the distributio of other people’s money: capitalism thinks it best done by salaried speculators insulated from risk and consequences (unless they go so far as to break the law) while socialism would have it done by salaried bureaucrats insulted from risk and consequences.

We need a far more fundamental change than see-sawing back towards more “socialism” now “capitalism” has failed again.

Also, it’s not really as if we could get much worse than the mess G.W.B. and friends have landed us in right now.

edit: I also find myself agreeing with Rex. We don’t have capitalism in any meaningful sense at the moment, as Contact has shown, we have managerial oligarchy :P

You stupid uninformed prick. If the Democrats hadn’t blocked Bush initiated legislation, the “mess” might never have occurred. If prominent Democrats hadn’t been running most of the institutions that precipitated the collapse it might never have happened. As usual, all you have are cowardly smears and a strategy based on the old Hitlerian maxim that if you tell a lie often enough it becomes accepted as the truth. Contemptible slimy cowards without a skerrick of honour. That is all you ever are.

Blanket man is accepted in his state because he is Maori.

A white man in this state would never get the exposure this man does.

a white man would be an embarrassment to the establishment and never got to see the light of day.

But none of this is why I would crticise Blanket man.

If he was educated I would really respect his stand. and that’s why the wizard is really tolerated. he’s actually a university graduate. hE CAN SPEAK PROFOUNDLY AND ENLIGHTEDLY.

I’m willing to state blanket man really hasn’t got much to say.

After all these years his following should be visible.

Probably doesn’t understand a thing that’s been written bout him.

All he knows is, he’ll never submit to an employer.

    4) the best lobster is a dead one
    5) if you look at the picture you’ll see that it’s using an antenna as a mind control device.

I like the comments on Clarke and Cullen and how they were around at the last financial world crisis. You all have to remember, and maybe some of you were not around then, that when the [deleted by DPF and 20 demerits] (Clarke) was in her early years of Parliament that she became the Minister of Health. When she took over that portfolio everything turned to sh*t. Still today things within th Health system have not recovered. Clarke needs to get over herself and work with other parties!

As for the comments about the blanket man getting coverage because he is Maori….WHATEVER! He gets coverage because he is who he is regardless of colour. I thought all the racists left NZ! Remember the Bucket Man….yeah that is right he was WHITE
