All three goals achieved
November 8th, 2008 at 10:43 pm by David FarrarI had three goals for tonight. In order they were:
- Winston gone
- John Key is PM
- Nikki Kaye wins Auckland Central
All three have happened. Commiserations to those who supported unsucessful candidates and parties. It is nice to win, and has been a while!

Not sure my husband will be happy as he was working hard for a National electorate win in Rimutaka.
Vote:I’m also sad that Stephen Franks didn’t get his electorate seat.
On the bright side the result around the country has been great!

From tvnz online:
Over and out from Helen Clark
“Helen Clark has conceded the election after National convincingly took the party vote and says she will be standing down as Labour leader.”
YES!!!
She’s fallen on her sword.
Let the in-fighting begin. [Go Goff Go!!!]

Take a bow DPF, given the agenda’s of the MSM, you and other key figures in the VRWC (Blogoshere) should be under no illusion as to how much of a force for good you have been.
I raise my glass to you all and cannot adequately express my thanks that you provide what is frankly an Oasis of rational reasoned commentary and debate in what, without you, would remain a sea of left wing bias.
That we can all tap into, reflect on and comment in forums that reflect the values that we as Kiwi’s believe in and stand for is fantastic, a sign of the times and technological advancement to be sure but also a sign of the outstanding commitment you and others have made to promote the betterment of our nation.
Thank you DPF, thank you, all of you.

BOOYAA!
Excellent acceptance speech, humble and gracious towards clark, reaching out to the Maori party, a true statesman, well done John, well done National, well done Act also.
Thank you David for your efforts, thank you Whale Oil for your efforts. A truly happy moment for NZ, I cam home early from the pub to write this, I will wake up a very happy man tomorrow.
Guys: Let’s show some class and go easy on the standard, tu meke et al, follow Key’s lead, be gracious in victory.

I had four goals:
1. ACT 5 seats and in a position of influence. Tick.
2. Clark gone. Tick.
3. Winston gone. Tick.
4. Stephen Franks to win Wellington Central.
Stephen’s is the tragedy of this election, being pipped in the seat and missing a list seat by one. Maybe that will change with specials.
But the man who has achieved the goal of a lifetime is John Key, and he is understandably euphoric. An inspiration for goalsetters everywhere.
May he run the country as well as he has run his life.

Strategic vision and communication thereof will be critical in the next several years. Inexperience in a new field is the enemy of that.
Key is undoubtedly our best hope for the future, bar none.
Is he a Winston Churchill though, because that’s we have to have.
Vote:November 9th, 2008 at 12:43 am
An excellent result. Very glad to see Key reaching out to Maori – indicates that National finally ‘gets’ MMP. budgieboy we echo your thanks to DPF for his big contribution to understanding the issues.
And of course from a completely self interested point of view best result of the night is not having to listen to Winston ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My job is done!
Thanks for your Kiwi Hospitality.
See you in 3 years!
Take care and enjoy the result for common sense!
Thanks to all the Labour staffers who made my job so easy. Wonderful when they get drunk and boast.
Thanks to all the dickheads who are so pathetic, that they think they are immune from prosecution.
I will be handing my tapes to the police before I go home, sorry I will be handing them over to the
National Party, because the Police here are corrupt in HQ.
Labour have got to recount their strange support of Winston First soon.
I predict a number of criminal cases based on secret recordings!

3 Goals this election:
1: The left to win, Bugger
2: Greens to increase their share of party vote: Wohoo!
: Stephen Franks not getting the Wellington Central seat: Out on electorate, hopefully out on party vote. Happy that that disgusting bigot, the only MP who I truly dislike, and the only one who I believe honestly intends to harm others, has got whats coming to him. I truly hope the postal ballots do not favor National another seat, I want this bigot gone.
Well fought guys, see you in 3 years time.

Mike Jones & Inga…you sellouts…I’m not a Christian But I’m damned sure God didn’t come up with your plan.
The jafAs are happy….here’s trouble.
If you guys had clue you could have worked “Winnie” taught everyone how MMP works from day 1…like him or hate him.
Campaign contributions….who gives a toss…look in the mirror, where’d you get your money currency speculation? the markets? advertising? buy low sell high?……very clever. Ever produce anything? Too much like hard work, eh?
The gap between rich & poor is still growing but that wouldn’t be an issue would it? Sounds like everybody in here voted ‘personally’…thanx 4 that…glad your petty bullshit got sorted for you.
I’ll be back….I hope that sounds like a threat ‘cos it is one…Bring it on!

YAY
Now the hard work starts, Key and his team have a huge task, not only do they have to repeal a lot of crap legislation EFA etc, they have to guide NZ thru troubled times. I hope people remember the most important thing HC said last night, whoever won was going to be in for a rough ride (about the only sane thing she’s said in years). The problem for Labour is HC will be beavering away behind the scenes to ensure she appoints her successor. However NZ has finally come to its senses and rejected her failed ideology, so if Labour were smart, they’d lock her in a dim cupboard in the basement until she retires.
Ding dong the witch is dead, the witch old witch the wicked witch ding dong the wicked witch is dead

Big thumbs up.

I thought it odd and jarring that she surrounded herself only with nieces – does she have to hate males that much or is she nephewless? Nice touch with parents on stage. At HEC’s age you are doing well to have them around to support you. Life’s been good the the Clark’s. Good to see someone humble with the reins now, who knows true hardship.
Hopefully, JK can right most of what was a wasted 9 year opportunity preoccupied with envy and social engineering.

Oh what a night. Rodney is a star, John Boscowan deserves the victory and we all deserve a better Country. They have to deliver now or they will get what Winston Got – the big A.
I think Winston was gracious in his defeat – he had a slightly different attitude to that of his behaviour on Agenda last week when he put the last nail in his coffin over his Helicopter outburst.

I have just finished watching eye to eye on TV One, while watching it became clear to me that the left are in a sate of shock.
They were talking and making points as if their opinions mattered or counted, the news for all pinko’s is that it does NOT.
Comrades Trotter, Bradbury (what a cock that guy is) and MMMMMMMatt McArten seem to have real problems coming to terms with the fact that their ideals and ideology has been rejected by a majority of Kiwi’s.

For me the biggest goal was seeing National take West Coast-Tasman. Ever since Clark referred to Coasters as ‘feral’ i’ve wanted to see her gone. The current day Labour party bears little resemblance to the workers party that was born on the West Coast.
Vote:To see that seat go blue was somehow the icing on the cake – perhaps if Labour had acknowledged their roots they might not have got the arsekicking that was long overdue to Ms Clark and her motley band of interlopers.
