Backbenches Tonight

November 12th, 2008 at 1:45 pm by David Farrar

The election may be over but carries on. Tonight:

They’ll be talking about the new Government, and voter turnout. So come along to teh Backbencher by 8.30 pm for a 9 pm start. Or watch it on TVNZ7.

Should also serve as a good excuse for people to have a couple of drinks to celebrate or commiserate the election outcome.

I find it has a very wellington focus (yes, not just as it is filmed in wellington). Any chance it may go on the move? Y’know, film from other cities and provinces? Much in the say way as the BBC show Question Time. I also tend to get pissed off with one group of supporters constantly trying to take over the show.

    And that matters how?

Maryan Street, Grant Robertson, Chris Carter oh and that other guy I can’t remember. That would be 9.1% of Labour MPs are gay. Still I ask, why does that matter?

National is 1.7% while the Greens are 12.5%. Still I ask why does it matter?

Having a pulse can get you a lifetime ban at the strandard. I apparently got for the crime of existing without even having ready the sad little jerk off rag.

Even though I helped pay for it.
