Ironic

The ODT reports:
Drunken teenagers at a party funded by a high school’s anti-drink-driving group have trashed a rural Southland hall.
Bottles were thrown at passing cars and into a children’s playground during the out-of-control party, organised by high school pupils using money from the St Peter’s College SADD (Students Against Driving Drunk) committee, last Friday.
Good old Gore never disappoints

Lot of in-breeding down that way I hear. I put it down to listening to far to much country music and being snowed in over winter.

But did any of them drive home drunk, afterwards?
December 3rd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
“Gorons” is the commonly used term, I believe……….

“But did any of them drive home drunk, afterwards?”
They couldn’t have, for if they had, they’d all have been killed. I know this, because Labour Party ‘public good’ advertising tells me so.
December 3rd, 2008 at 2:54 pm
It cracks me up how people just believe whatever the Labour Party tells them about drinking and driving. There’s no evidence of manmade drink-driving accidents. But that little truth is a bit “inconvenient” for lefties and MSM drones.

Can you clarify what that means Ryan?
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Driving accidents are caused by a great number of complex factors, but it’s become trendy among leftists and their mainstream-media sheep to claim that alcohol consumption is directly related to driving accidents. But those claims are based on BAD SCIENCE. Leftists will happily parrot the claims of biased scientists in order to demonise alcohol, which serves their secret agenda of undermining business – like the alcohol industry.
Hell, 20 years ago, “scientists” were all worried about alcohol improving driving!

Took me a while Ryan, but I get it now
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Should have started off with a couple of drinks Llew, it improves blooging.
We have scientific evidence from a panel of science talking guys.

I’ve always been a much better driver after a few grogs.

“Took me a while Ryan, but I get it now”
Applause..!!!
Actually funny thing is, ol redneck Ryan’s quite right without even knowing it. Government agencies quite often lie or misrepresent stats in pursuit of what they perceive as “public good” ideals. Global warming is only the tip of the iceberg. (to coin a phrase) Passive smoking. Exhaust gas. Drink driving. Speeding. OSH. Air pollution. All liars and lies. They even admit it. The end justifies the means they say.

Gore’s my home town so back off
Fact is there is little to do now that the council removed the centre parks – ahh the endless fun of playing “watcha gunna do when they come for you” on the car stereo every time the feds show up, over and over….
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:03 pm
So they are gay AND drunk?

Poor Gore !!. I know DPF has spent one night in Gore, that terrible election night of 2002.Don’t punish us for that. See the National voting figures for Gore- 4-1 for National.
Gore has had its oddball, like one idiot lady as mayor. There are a few individuals who live on raw swede but probably we are behind the eightball when it comes to p labs, drugs and violence.
I like to think that we in Gore are free of some of the idiocy of Wellington and Auckland, where the biggest desire seems to be one of the “pretty” people sitting around the cafes and wine bars naval gazing about their adventures on waters of the Waitemata or struggling to stay alive in some of their ethnic ghettoes..
I am a district councillor in Gore, lived here all my life but have been to 50 different countries. I love my town, I love learning about the rest of the world but equally I am looking forward to go home to Gore.
I am not a Goron,in bred or a total nana.
Just a reminder, so much of the nations wealth comes within one hundred kms of Gore.
Come to Gore- we have one of the largest Rita Angus and Ralph Hotere collections in New Zealand,a lively arts scene and we don’t all sing songs about a dog with a sore stomach.

RB: “Government agencies quite often lie or misrepresent stats in pursuit of what they perceive as “public good” ideals. Global warming is only the tip of the iceberg. So just to clarify here RedBaiter, you believe:
a) passive smoking isn’t bad for you
b) exhaust gases dont’ pollute the atmosphere
c) drinking alcohol doesn’t impair your driving ability;
d) neither does speeding
e) (I’m unclear what the lies are around OSH…its existence?)
f) the air isn’t polluted…at all?
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:41 pm
“So just to clarify here RedBaiter, you believe:”
Believe? What do you think this is? A matter of religion?
Should government agencies be free to lie if they claim that the ideas they are promoting are in the public good?
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
That is the fucken question you twerp. What’s your answer??
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:46 pm
No it’s not the question at all and don’t call me a twerp. What are you? 85 years old?
For your statement “Government agencies be free to lie” to be sound it relies on the presupposition that all of the things you listed are lies, which I elaborated on.
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:49 pm
David, Chuck Norris doesn’t answer questions, he asks them.
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:59 pm
“it relies on the presupposition that all of the things you listed are lies”
Idiotic assertion. Go away. You’re a moron. BTW I never speed. I merely rely on the logic that if everything is under control, then I’m driving too slow.
