Zoom in on Obama Inauguration

This is amazing. Someone took hundreds of photos of the crowd at Obama’s Inauguration, and has stuck them all together on a site where you can peer in from any angle, and also zoom in to see individual faces and people. The VIP section is especially interesting.

“The VIP section is especially interesting.”
If you just zoom into the right angle, you can see someone who looks a lot like Paul Holmes kneeling under the dais that Obama is speaking from. Dunno what he’s doing there, but it looks like he’s got something in his mouth.

I was looking at the group up on the mezzanine behind the podium. The group all wearing bright red beanies and scarves.??? I know they’re the wrong colour for Hamas – maybe Helen and friends?
Borker, sounds like you’ve got your keyboard wet. – Suggest you stick it in the hot water cupboard for a coupla days

I only got one pic of the bog picture with Obama speaking. But it was fun.

Are they the guys with the hats. Spectacular!
I always remember George Costanza wishing hats were still in vogue. Very stylish.

I thought it was a gathering for Al Capone lookalikes.

If you zoom right in on the rear of Obama’s head, you can see the chewing gum holding his ears back.

Where are all the “redneck assassins” that the left said would be there?

“Where are all the “redneck assassins” that the left said would be there?”
I thought I saw one right up the back with some kind of pistol, but on closer inspection it turned out to be Monica Lewinksy holding a cigar.

CNN did something similar, but in 3D, using Microsoft’s Photosynth and Silverlight2 software, and using digital photos submitted by people.
Here were the instructions –
1. Take one photo of the moment when Obama takes the oath. If you have a digital camera with a zoom lens, take three photos (wide-angle, mid-zoom, full-zoom)
2. E-mail each photo as soon as possible to themoment@cnn.com (one photo per message, 10MB size limit). Don’t forget to include your name in the message if you’d like to appear in the list of the contributors. Please only send in photos you took yourself.
3. Go to cnn.com/themoment to see all of the photos in our photosynth
and –
Photosynth is a Microsoft technology that creates 3D spaces from anyone’s 2D photos. Hundreds of thousands of synths are viewable on photosynth.com, including the best inauguration synths.

wish there was something like this for the review parade. There was some great moments in the march past the family.

Its great- but unfortunately still got some flaws – either that or there were some heavily deformed people there.
in the VIP to Obama’s left -Ginga woman in red scarf immediately above Obama’s head – bloke sitting behind her has four eyes, look along his row to the woman without a mouth – (hey – now there’s an idea)

Intrigued by the autocue glass at the podium.
The media never ever showed that on the reports. Although they were rarely so polite for other speakers.
I actually thought he was speaking from the heart, and was an orator of the highest calibre.
Now, I can see he is an actor just like Reagan.

Only if you believe.
