People may be amused to know that originally they wanted all three of us to be photoshopped as “Che Guevara“. I said that I didn’t think me dressing up as a left wing torturing and executing revolutionary leader would go down too well here, so they made me Uncle Sam instead

I’m surprised no-one suggested Kitchener … I’d have thought that would be better known than the Uncle Sam knock-off in New Zealand.

You could have been done up as that mass murder Kissinger instead. Or that great torturer of modern times, Rumsfeld.

Always knew you’d be more comfortable dressing up as a right wing torturing and executing counter revolutionary leader.

Interesting – I thought Ari said they weren’t going to be using mass murdering revolutionaries in their marketing anymore.

Uncle Sam’s a good choice DTF.
It looks especially appropriate on the eve of Anzac Day, when we should spare a thought for the US Navy carrier dive-bomber pilots who saved NZ from Japanese occupation when they sank the Japanese prize carriers at Midway. Also the US marines who died in the long wade onto the island (Tarawera?) where the Imperial Japanese earlier beheaded young NZ coastwatchers, and the young GI’s who completed their basic training with live warfare in the jungle of Papua New Guinea. A lot of these young Americans never went home.

“I said that I didn’t think me dressing up as a left wing torturing and executing revolutionary leader would go down too well here”
Well said, the left need to be reminded more often of their legacy of destruction death imprisonment and slavery and just what inhuman swines their heroes really were. You should have asked the stooges who wanted to dress you as Guevara if they had any Thomas Jefferson outfits.
I can imagine the reaction-
“Who?”
“Who the hell was Thomas Jefferson??”
“Does he look good in a beret??”
