Comedy Central here at last
April 2nd, 2009 at 4:49 pm by David FarrarI am loving having Comedy Central now available on Sky. Colbert Report, Southpark etc etc.
Best of all it is part of the overall Sky package so no extra charge.
Now all Sky has to do is get the SciFi Channel here. Heaps of people would pay for it.

Who needs the Sci FI Channel
My mother in law just spent 26 hours in the A+E department at Wellington hospital during the week.
It was like being in another world
A THIRD WORLD
and not very funny

Haven’t they renamed the Sci Fi channel to something ridiculous?
Oh, yes.

I love the things people get paid to do.

What all these pay TV providers should do is unbundle their channels and charge a per-channel rate (with maybe a minimum number of channels to ensure it’s viable for them to supply the service).
What I’m never going to do (are you listening, Foxtel?) is pay for a bunch of sports channels I’ll never watch, then pay extra for things like sci fi and world movies just because I’m a pseudo-intellectual effete and not a Neanderthal bogan (that may not be their exact marketing demographics, by the way).
Do you walk into a restaurant only to be told “you have to order the tofu and lentil hot pot, and if you want side orders we’ll charge you extra”? I don’t bloody think so.
Harrrumph.

Ryan: I’d pay the average marketing person for SYFY. Shut Your F***ing Yap. *rimshot* Thanks, I’m here all week.

I notice that despicable lefty propaganda rag The Daily Show does not rate a mention, despite being one of the most painfully funny things on TV
Sci Fi channel? I tried watching Battlestar Galactica when it was on C4 recently. It was a political drama all about the woman president (a bit like Sarah Palin might have been if she were smart and competent) heroically trying to break a strike by the ungrateful Mexican workers of the garbage disposal space ship or something. Waste of time…
[DPF: You are turning into a troll. Next time will be demerits. Daily Show has been available for years on NZ screens, which is why I did not mention it]

Good grief, you’re no fun at all tonight. Signing off…

To nitpick, Southpark has also been on for ages but was mentioned. But really who cares.
If the colbert report could be moved to a time when Friends isn’t on that’d be fab.

Oh, and
WHY THE HELL IS ‘SEX AND THE CITY’ ON COMEDY CENTRAL?

Tsk Ratbiter it wasn’t really the Daily Show thing that got to DPF, it was the crack about Battlestar Galactica. You know he he’s sitting there wearing Cylon pyjamas, on a Viper duvet cover and a picture of Starbuck (the new one, not the old one, lest anyone get the wrong idea) as his computer wallpaper, and you come here and disparage the show?!

Yeah all for the Sci fi channel !! any thing that doesn’t have Coro street or bloody Mcleods frigging daughters. Anyway I thought you computer geeks had the ability to watch ten thousand channels or any TV program made in the last sixty years. I know of one guy who claims it is now possible to access around 1600 channels by satellite receivers , don’t know why one would bother. Have heard that some computer geeks in Auckland have manged to descramble the sky signal by running it thur their computers, installed with the right software, and are now selling subscriptions on the black market, would this be possible?
