Ron Mark for Carterton

Roar Prawn reports that Ron Mark is planning to stand for Mayor of Carterton.

I think Ron will win easily.

Ron Mark is cashing in on his political career. He was always known as a cowboy on law and order and with a very prickly personality. Going out to protest about toilets is no great recommendation for a future mayor.
Carterton aren’t gaining of worth I think.

Can’t he get a real job? If anything, this is a great advertisement for why there should be a super-council for Wellington, Kapiti and the Wairarapa.

Someone once said we get the representatives we deserve. I recall Carterton as pleasant, relaxed and friendly place, so it certainly doesn’t deserve this odious, cowardly ignoramus as its Mayor.

Yes, Ron, I’m still waiting for you to man up and apologise. Perhaps I should pop up at a candidates meeting and ask you there, shall I?

Ron and Gary are good mates

Gary is the reason there is strong talk for the proposed amalgamated Council which does not include him. So if Ron stands the Wairarapa super council would be a clincher. The man is a carpetbagger .Give him what he deserves ‘Leadership of that wanking outfit NZF and make Gary his deputy.

I’ve always thought Ron Mark was a man of integrity, more than others, both inside his party and outside.

I think sometimes he got it wrong in a serious way, and I doubt he will ever publicly admit it.

I wish him well.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm in the footsteps of Georgina Beyer …. and pretty small footsteps at that.

Gives some credance to the saying ‘from the shit of the kings to the king of the shits’ (ooooooooops sorry Carterton).

But surely the good honest burgers there have got more sense.

Rex Widerstrom in his 5.43 post obviously has an axe to grind when he describes Ron Mark as a “odious, cowardly ignoramus.”

Ron, an ex special forces man in the Middle East, is no coward. Nor is he an ignoramus nor odious.

Go Ron. You would be a bloody good mayor, and I for one am sorry you are not still an MP.

I don’t think Ron Marks has the temperament for a mayor. He runs a fairly short fuse and is not very good at working with or listening to others, both skills which are required for a good mayor.

If you think the munter Ron Marks would make a good mayor then get him to stand in your local body electorate but I live in the Carterton District and are sick of idiots been foisted on our District or been told by That if he stood he would win easily.
I for one would commit funds to make sure this prediction will not happen.
There has never been a better reason for One council for Wairarapa.
As Marks is portraying himself as a Honest and trustworthy person would Ron like to explain if NZ First has paid back the money yet, How much was it again???

Dead right – I wonder why in hell Key is not pushing this and in the case of Snakeoil DUNNE – why not tell state services to attach his ministerial earnings and tell Dunne that failure to pay up will cost him his warrant.Come on John the taxpayer will punish National if you don’t recover our stolen tax dollars.

I’m a bit concerned Terry J (27) would commit funds to interfere with an election campaign? Whose funds would you dip your trough in to, to undermine a democratic process? And who pays, pays and pays to keep these funds afloat?
