  1. Auberon (412) Says:

If the relationship between Barack Obama and John Key is such that Barack can pick up the phone and ask for something (a commitment of more troops in Afghanistan for longer, as he did two weeks ago) then why doesn’t John pick up the phone and say “sure, old buddy, old pal, quid pro quo – we’ll give you the troops if you drop these absurd market skewing dairy subsidies.” Better still; why not negotiate troops-to-Afghanistan for a Free Trade Agreement?

  2. billyborker (1048) Says:

Maybe because there is no such thing as a free trade agreement with US. All they want is free access to your markets, not the otherway round.

An FTA with the US would be the end of Pharmac and affordable medecine.

Better to pull all NZ troops out of Afghanistan and let the US solve the problem it created.

  3. Patrick Starr (3499) Says:

The promoters of this mornings hikoi have been quite clever in soliciting support. Very little mention that the hikoi is actually about maori seats on the super council, but a lot of inference that its a protest against the Super City.
It will get a lot of support and it’ll bring Auckland CBD to a standstill – most demonstrators however wont have a clue why they’re really there

  4. Neil (321) Says:

Can someone explain to me what that bikers/walkers protest yesterday at the Auckland Harbour Bridge was all about.
Living at the bottom end of the South Island, it looked like a Greenie stunt to promote themselves.
The police’s laid back approach was sensible but weren’t the protestors breaking the law.
That fellow McDonald who was in charge of the bikers/walkers on Morning/Report this am seemed a very slippery individual denying assurances given to the police and NZTA. Sounds like a Greenie !! Stretch the truth !!!!!!
You sure seem to have some very strange living people north of the Bombay Hills.

  5. alex Masterley (333) Says:

    Patrick,
Agreed, Also most protesters will be wet cold and miserable by midday.

  6. Dave Mann (323) Says:

This bloody Hikoi thing makes me sick.

Why is it that the only race in this country that seem to have continual problems adjusting to life on any plane at all is the fucking Maori race? Why is it that they think that democracy has to be continually adjusted to cater for their bloody demands? Why does New Zealand put up with ongoing and unceasing race-based agitation from these pricks?

Do we see Polynesians marching up and down the country demanding additional influence over the democratic process? What about The Indians? The Chinese? Would we tolerate this as a country if it was continually happening?

Why do we put up with this shit?

(Of course, this opinion of mine that all people should be treated equally in a democracy will probably mean I am branded as a ‘racist’! ha-fucking-ha…)

  7. Murray M (455) Says:

Billy, I am a pharmacist now working in Aussie. The subsidised medicines available to the Australian public are generations ahead of what is available to the New Zealand public. Pharmac are not as shit hot as you think they are, and quite frankly have fucked pharmacy in NZ to the point where the majority of NZ pharmacists wish they didn’t have to work, or failing that are coming to Aussie in their droves.

  8. big bruv (5415) Says:

Yeah that’s right Borker, the good old USA created terrorism all on their own didn’t they.

  9. EverlastingFire (132) Says:

Dave Mann – I don’t think these Maori (the ones protesting) believe in democracy. They believe in a separatist country. I like to just sit back and laugh because what they’re really protesting for is charity.

  10. paradigm (507) Says:

What a shame, its going to rain on the hikoi….

  11. Murray M (455) Says:

What Dave said, top of the list of the many reasons why I moved to Aussie.

  12. dime (1797) Says:

i heard an ad on the radio this morning, some maori guy talking about their loss of democratic rights..

are we taking the vote off maori or something?

  13. goodgod (1363) Says:

Why is it that the only race in this country that seem to have continual problems adjusting to life on any plane at all is the fucking Maori race?

If you listen to maori polticians you could get this impression, but generally maori don’t have any more difficultly than non maori. Just like the Left need an easily invented but difficult to pin point fragment of society to maintain socialism, so do race based politicians lump perfectly adjusted people in with their non-stop activist rabble. They protest because they’re given air time on TV and radio and in papers. They demand attention because of a liberal attitude that brown skin is oppressed, permanently, and at a disadvantage, permanently, regardless of reality. And the media, and our current bunch of ruling polticians, being liberal in their outlook, let themselves be played in exchange for power. It’s just dog chasing tail stuff and should be seen for the sham it is.
This latest bunch of protestors seem to have very good adapted media and communciation skills (regardless of the veracity of their message) and seem to be at an advantage to an average joe who has to work all day today; whose argument eloquently supports the supercity without maori seats; and who is expected to stay silent because he does support it. A culture of accepting protests at face value and negotiating new terms with protestors gives an advantage over and above those who would make silent submissions, operate within a democratic system, and merely place votes in booths. Caving-in to small groups of protestors is anti-democratic.

  14. Dave Mann (323) Says:

Don’t laugh, EverlastingFire. What they are protesting for is apartheid, pure and simple. They believe that they deserve more than everybody else based on their race.

  15. Murray (4521) Says:

Ask them, its what they shamlessly claim is their right.

A privilaged position based on their race.

Yeah that’s right Borker, the good old USA created terrorism all on their own didn’t they.

I did not say that, but the shithole of Afghanistan is more their fault than anyone else’s.

had the US and its running dogs supporeted USSR in 1979 on, the Taliban would have neen eliminated aNd Afghanistan would be a stable democracy by now, or at the very least, no haven for terrorists and no threat to anyone.

  17. Murray (4521) Says:

What a load of shit. Afghanistan has been a tribal battleground since adam was a midshipman.

Learn at least a tiny smidge of history before opening your yap bonkers. Actual history, not sociaist revisionisam.

  18. billyborker (1048) Says:

Poor old muray, just fuck off and play with your toys while the grown ups have a discussiion.

  19. Murray (4521) Says:

Ooo good come back brain cell.

  20. dime (1797) Says:

LMAO the yanks should have backed the USSR invasion of Afghanistan?

Cause the Russians were so nice to the locals lol

  21. Murray (4521) Says:

Socialism good everyone else evil dime. Get with the program.

  22. Fisiani (210) Says:

    On a brighter note

Susan Boyle blew the competition away again and is in the final of Britain’s Got Talent

  23. Patrick Starr (3499) Says:

read his other ‘WTF?’. They should have backed it to become “a stable democracy” – like everyone knew that the USSR was promoting “a stable democracy” in 1979
Of course Chechnya is no haven for terrorists ………. is it Borker?
    whadda dipshit

  24. Murray (4521) Says:

Well I have to get back to preparing my “toys” for a two year exhibition as well the lectures I have to deliver with it so I’ll leave the rest of you to your “grown ups” talk with billy bonkers.

Although his reposnse seems to have been reduced to just giving negative karma without answering which is apprently the grown up reponse along with name calling.

  25. emmess (686) Says:

Hey guys, let me help here
I think we are misunderstanding what Borker is trying to say

Translating from leftist language to English the word democracy means socialism or commuinism

  26. big bruv (5415) Says:

Apparently the watermelons will vote for their female co leader this weekend, I am sure that all of us on the right would want to offer Comrade Bradford all the best for the election.

  28. big bruv (5415) Says:

    MT

Did you feel you needed to wash after meeting Red Russ?

  29. Murray (4521) Says:

Sue Bradford is the best cadidate for the job.

If you’re an Act or national supporter.

  30. Right of way is Way of Right (756) Says:

I see the Green Party has issued a pres release in which they state that the Co Leader, Russell Norman, and MP Keith Locke, joined the marchers across trhe Auckland harbour bridge on Sunday.

As this march took place without the assent of the Transit board, and it is, in fact of law, trespassing, then these two members of parliament have BROKEN THE LAW!

As in Shane Ahern’s driving a tractor up the Steps of Parliament, I expect and demand an immediate arrest and prosecution.

  31. Rex Widerstrom (2406) Says:

    goodgod notes:

Why is it that the only race in this country that seem to have continual problems adjusting to life on any plane at all is the fucking Maori race?

If you listen to maori polticians you could get this impression, but generally maori don’t have any more difficultly than non maori.

That’s an important point to bear in mind. My ex-partner is Maori (and unaware of any European ancestry. She certainly doesn’t look as though she does). My children are part-Maori. None of them, nor any members of their extended whanau I’ve ever met, have a chip on their shoulder.

Despite some suffering the kinds of hardship that other NZers encounter from time to time (disability, unemployment, death of a spouse etc) I’ve never heard one of them express an opinion that they ought to be in receipt of anything more than that to which anyone in similar circumstances is entitled.

By criticising “Maori” for doing something of which you disapprove you are in fact strengthening the position of (and playing into the hands of) a few people who stand up and claim to “speak for Maori”. In fact it’s as arrogant as any politician claiming to “speak for all New Zealanders” but for some reason many people assume that similar racial characteristics = similar outlooks. It doesn’t.

  32. Right of way is Way of Right (756) Says:

    Rex,

    Amen brother!

  33. llew (1518) Says:

    Well said, Rex

  34. joeAverage (311) Says:

Tell me did Kentucky fried ,burgher king and Mc Donalds offer a discount on typical Maori food to keep the marching unemployed going up there in dorkland

  35. billyborker (1048) Says:

JOHN KEY – Where the FUCK is my cycleway? Stop playing games in stupid eating contests, get on and govern and DO something real. BUILD

  36. village idiot (748) Says:

billyborker – do you count the Harbour Bridge? It became a cycleway for a while yesterday! At least the people have made progress! It seems they are more powerful than Key!

  37. thedavincimode (599) Says:

Go away for five minutes and before you know it, Borker/MNI Jerk is back again. And in the maelstrom of this identity crisis he’s representing himself as a “grown up”.

    Sheesh.

Go polish Daddy’s medals borker. Whoops, he didn’t get any did he. Go varnish the chip on your shoulder then.
