Ok, I have to ask: has Philu (whoar.co.nz) left the blogosphere?

His two-week Kiwiblog ban (fully deserved – for trolling, repeatedly insulting the blog host etc) ended on 19 May. I found it rather curious that he hasn’t posted here since (most unlike Philu) and thought I’d check out his blog – it’s not there anymore!

wot fisher & paykell have to do..to satisfy their new chinese financial overlords..(um..!..the boss is fired..for starters..)
May 28th, 2009 “..Fisher & Paykel Appliances has again put its finance subsidiary up for sale and is foreshadowing substantial board changes.

It appears from information provided as part of the company’s capital restructure yesterday ..

.. that F&P Finance was put on the block after F&P Appliances’ announcement in February that its debt had blown out to $570 million.

However, there does not appear to have been any official announcement from the company..

.. nor was there any overt reference to the proposed sale in the public announcements yesterday.

He was caught last week in a police bust called Operation Punctuation where he was found to be growing his own commas for supply. He was even baking his own hyphens in a small shed.

An ignoble, but not entirely unexpected, end to his grammatical career.

“Labour MP’s have furiously attacked Prime Minister John Key over expectations that planned tax cuts will be scuttled in tomorrow’s budget.”

Is this the same labour party, that a few months ago, was telling anyone that listened that they would support the government NOT giving tax cuts, as to do so in the current climate would be irresponsible.

Time for politicians to show the way in the saving of taxpayers money ?
Examples, why the need for ministers to have state houses, why the need for expensive bloody cars with a driver supplied, ministers have plenty of so called media people to can drive them around in normal cars.

Or should we be understanding about NZ politicians spending taxpayers money, in other words we should not be as demanding as the UK public has become ?

Another day and we move yet closer to the inevitable bankruptcy of General Motors.

It cannot happen soon enough, the only way that GM can even hope of surviving is by declaring bankruptcy and then renegotiating with the predatory unions.

Yesterday I noted that while the Goat killer deservedly got 2 years jail time Wife beaters et al get a lesser punishment of home detention.

Today I note that a policeman is only worth 4 goats.

Was just about to post about that.

How does a youth with his track record get to stay in the community after ANOTHER round of violence based offending? Pleading guilty to assault and four parole breeches and the judge thinks it is a good idea to give him a 12 month supervision sentence.

IF this paragon of reform offends in a violent manner again in the next 12 months can the victims sue this judge for malpractice / gross misconduct / gross stupidity?

When are the judicial branch in New Zealand going to get a clue?

This will be eclipsed by talk of the Budget, but the Netherlands’ drug policy is causing havoc! Jobs are being lost all over the place as they close eight prisons for lack of crime. Some jobs may be saved, however, by outsourcing their prison facilities to Belgium’s surfeit of criminals.

That is remarkable, but can you tell me how certain you are that this is directly related to drugs policy? I see that they had shortages of cells in the 90s – when did they liberalise their drug laws? Ol’ wiki says that Belgium is moving towards the Dutch model too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_policy_of_the_Netherlands

Good on Muzza,
I see the the UN Humans Rights lot that are based in beautiful Switzerland have decided that there is no need to look at the possibilities of Humans Right problems in Sri Lanka because the government of Sri Lanka said that they had not violated any ones Humans Right in the defeat of the Tamil Tigers.

We owe Murray McCully a debt of gratitude that we did not get involved with this bunch of deluded dipsticks. If Israel had made the same declaration after their recent problems with the locals in Gazza do you think that would have got the same free pass. Well they didn’t did they Israel was hounded with falsehoods and out right lies. We are so lucky that our Government is not a member of this body.

I am worried though at reports that recently New Zealand fronted up to this body to explain how we were doing in the area of Human Rights. If I was involved with the Justice Ministry I would have told this collect of despots and clowns were to go. We do not need their oversight in this area.

Just seen the Masterton chap who ‘died’ for 25 minutes (while his heart wasn’t working…) on Campbell Live. Quite an impressive feat! He’s was asked about what he experienced during that time and said that it related to his family and for that reason wanted to keep it private. Various international media are chasing him for the story, so my prediction is that TV3 wouldn’t pay enough.
