For starters: Redbaiter thinks National are socialists. He often hates on libertarians, particularly those within the ACT party. Clearly he is not center anything or moderate anything.
Obviously he sat the test and discovered he’s so top right that no party is fit for him.

Think I prefer this one which is less American focused, http://politicalcompass.org/ which I done before, but results similar.

Foreign policy and culture I am pretty heavily negative, which is not surprising either.

This sort of thing can get anyone mixed up. Nothing will ever be resolved. We can work to improve things, but that is all.

I have a theory on “preferring one’s own race”. I don’t now the proportions but I think there are three broad categories
- those who “prefer their own race” or feel threatened by other races
- those who don’t care either way
- those who are interested, fascinated in other races

I object to roughly half the questions. God knows what it thinks I’m saying about myself when I say marriage is cool or what I mean by a free market, but I’m pretty certain it’s wrong.

I think I am going to move to some place like Germany.

Redbaiter has a point that many of these questions could be used for a NZ referendum.

My views are really all over the place in my opinion, I supported both gay marriage and the death penalty

But I’m am more neo-conservative in terms of foreign policy (1.47) and culturally liberal (-2.34) in terms of the culture war.

It is pretty consistent with other quizzes I have taken, some say I’m more left wing others say I’m more to the right, but all say I’m slightly more libertarian.

Guess that’s a measure of how non-seriously I’m taking it – it’s a bit of fun people, lighten up.

As for the question of loaded questions – my observation was that they came from both sides, that’s the nature of political questionnaires. I thought this one wasn’t too bad, as many seem to only load them one way.

But just like there are lots of people who are politically closer to Act who vote National, there are lots who are politically close to the Greens who vote Labour.

I think this is a pity – it would be a healthier democracy if we had four parties all in the 15%-30% range. Guess it is partly that traditional and tribal thing that delivers votes to National and Labour from people who, on a policy analysis, actually prefer the policies of other parties. Oh, and also “tactical” voting from people who don’t understand MMP.

I was actually thinking of here Shunda. But looking back on it, both of us were actually minor players on the thread, although I, at least, followed it closely. Guess I didn’t post much becasue others had said what I wanted to say first.

Our respective positions were clear though.
