Where in the world is Mark Sanford?

Mark Sanford is the Governor of South Caroline, and a few days he basically went walkabout without telling anyone.

The media here have been full of the story of the missing Governor. His wife said she had no diea where he was, even though it was Father’s Day. His Lieutenant Governor had no idea, and didn’t know if he was Acting Governor or not.

It has turned out Sanford decide to do a solo hike of the Appalachian Trail.If he had told people this in advance it would not have been a big issue, but no one knew – not even his security staff whom he gave the slip to.

Especially amusing is the fact that one of the days he was off hiking was National Hike Naked Day, so the TV networks have been speculating that he Governor may be nude hiking.

UPDATE: His staff lied. He was actually in Argentina where he was bonking a woamn he is having an affair with. I thought it very weird his wife did not know where he was. Sanford was seen as a potential 2012 Presidential candidate and was Chairman of the Republican Governors Association.
