A strike I approve of Add this story to Scoopit!.

AAP reports:

NEW South Wales police have begun a week of refusing to issue on-the-spot fines for traffic infringements and other offences after wage negotiations with the State Government broke down.

Excellent.

I am sure the public will hope the Government holds out for as long as possible.

    Why am I not surprised.

Why do the Right Whingers think they should be permitted to break the law with impunity?

I guess, because, deep down, they have no sense of community, they are simply selfish little “I’ll do what I want” foot stamping infants.

    MyNameIsJack;

    Pledge-card overspend
Prima Facie, a few of them
Benson Pope, David Parker, Winston Peters too.
    Greens breach Electoral Finance Act
Poor Claire Curren got the sack
    Paintergate
    Corngate
    Taito Field and Motorcades

Too bad we didn’t get another term, or else we could have had a whole ‘We didn’t start the fire’ of left wing indescretions during Labour’s reign. Care to revisit your statement of only right wingers believing they should break the law with impunity?

  3. Colonel Masters (420) Says:

I’m sure there is a song in there dog_eat_dog

    Paintergate, Corngate
    Taito Field and Motorcades
    We didn’t start the fire
    It was always burning
    Since the world’s been turning

as opposed to lefties who are selfish little, foot stamping, finger wagging “Do as I say, I know best” busy-bodies.

Tell me – since when have lefties been opposed to workers taking industrial action?

  5. Le Grande Fromage (145) Says:

I like the song idea. How about this to the tune of Billy Joels we didn’t start the fire

    Tennis balls in the gob
Peter Davis likes to [deleted by DPF]
    Signing pictures that aren’t yours
Getting immigrants to tile your floors

    Promoting lezzers by the tonne
let your speeding cops get done
Stealing cash tp promote your cause
Get let off by changing laws

    (Chorus)
    We are filthy lefties.
We are always nicking and its you we’re dicking
    We are filthy lefties
We think its funny spending others money

    [DPF: 50 demerits]

  6. MyNameIsJack (2,415) Says:

I am not opposed to the police taking industrial action, but I believe that DPF’s “support” is not out of a belief in the right of workers to strike, but in his antipathy to certain laws being applied. Usual right wing “why do they put speed cameras at the bottom of the hill?” style moaning.

    My Name is Jack:

But road rules are for other people! I’ve made my money, and I pay my taxes. Therefore I OWN this road. How dare Mr Plod tell me I’m driving too fast? Mr Plod should be doing more serious work like locking up brown people and benefit fraudsters.

What’s that? Ten times as many people are killed every year on the roads as by murderers? I don’t believe that, that must be Leftie propaganda. You can’t tell me I have other obligations AS WELL AS paying tax… I own my own home and I have 3 children, I’ll do what I like thank you very much. People like me MADE this country…

Le Grande Fromage: “Peter Davis likes to touch mens nobs”

100 points for highly defamatory comments??

  9. Le Grande Fromage (145) Says:

Ratbiter it is only defamatory if it is not true.

  10. Ratbiter (1,265) Says:

And f*ck the burden of proof eh cheesy?

It’s much more fun to just slander someone than to spend all that effort on putting a factual case together.

  11. xyzzy (23) Says:

prove it to be true then

  12. Le Grande Fromage (145) Says:

You just want to see the pictures dont you xyzzy. If thats the case you are in the wrong place. I am sure there are plenty of homosexual pornography sites around where you can indulge your fetish.

You are a complete moron – retrospective validation…. Has Winston paid back his $158,000 yet… How long did Klark spend inside for stealing $800,000 – Oh that’s right – she killed off Darnton VS Clark….

  14. ben (2,275) Says:

Government fines can occasionally be useful. They sure help when looking for a car park down town. Each time I have trouble finding a car park in downtown Wellington I wish parking prices could be (even) higher than $4/hour to clear the market.

But, having read the Hamilton City Council is handing out $1500 fines to home owners when people are sitting on your roof against your permission I’m inclined to think that on average NSW will do very well out of this.

  15. side show bob (3,646) Says:

Ben “Government fines can be useful”, maybe Ben but I would now take any infringement notice handed out in the name of justice in this country with a grain of salt. Given the reports that only those “capable” of paying and those with “records” of pass infringement paying are now sent fines. Why any right or bloody left citizen pays their fines when one can walk away is beyond me. They say justice is blind, they got that fucking right.
