I believe in god, therefore I can be a discriminating arsehole and your alws can’t touch me.
A CONTROVERSIAL review of Victoria’s Equal Opportunity Act is threatening to become a political headache for the Brumby Government, with many churches, religious leaders, parents and private schools vowing to defend discrimination based on faith.
The parliamentary review, covering all areas of discrimination — including whether private men’s clubs can continue to exclude women — has sparked widespread alarm among religious Victorians, from the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne to Islamic, Christian and Jewish schools, and faith-based hospitals and aged-care centres.
At stake, these groups say, is their religious freedom to discriminate within churches, schools and church-run welfare services.
Under the 53 exceptions and exemptions to the Equal Opportunity Act, a religious organisation can insist on staff sharing its belief. A Christian private school, for example, can legally discriminate by refusing a Muslim a job as a teacher, receptionist or cleaner.
I believe in god, so I can starve my kid and you can’t do anything about ikt or all my friends will riot and you’ll have to let me off.
Calm is expected to return to the streets of Jerusalem today after a court decision attempted to defuse clashes between police and ultra-Orthodox protesters. Violent riots racked the city this week as thousands of ultra-Orthodox – or “Haredi” – residents protested against the arrest of a woman accused of nearly starving her three-year-old son to death.
Yesterday Jerusalem courts released the woman to house arrest.
The young Helen Clark was once described as “a sex bomb” in black boots, according to a new unauthorised biography of the former prime minister.
Helen Clark, by Wellington journalist Denis Welch, says trade union leader Matt McCarten’s first memory of her was from the early 80s. “She was dressed all in black and had big black boots,” McCarten said.
Fellow unionist Laila Harre, later an Alliance Party cabinet minister in Clark’s first cabinet, recalled a 1985 party where young men were “salivating over Helen Clark and her boots”.
“McCarten: `She was a sex bomb!”‘
“Harre: `She was, actually from a left-wing point of view. We don’t have very high standards!”‘
Now to more serious issues!
Nick Smith.
Is Nick Smith the National Party’s clone of Micheal Cullen?
Serious questions need to be asked about Smith’s capacity to keep up to date on current events. Smith’s clearly about 2 years behind on the Global Warming/ climate change debate. His appalling lack of knowledge is leading Govt. down a path that NZ doesn’t need nor want.
Here is a report of his Nelson consultation meeting(which is a carbon copy of his other meeting except it was more rogioursly chaired.) http://www.nzcpr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=702&sid=2c829019b70929fd9a02f7670ad20a5c&p=23043#p23043
The man is a zealot and its time he was separated from anything to do with NZ’s future or the ETS, carbon trading or anything to do with climate change.
Like the Folic Acis debate which the Nats. are about to do a reversal on it because of the pressure from NZer’s they need to get their act together and front up to the new information and the politics of Global Warming, (and don’t forget that this was its given name before all the scientists established that the earth wasn’t warming), and remove Smith and the greenies (of which he is one hiding under the Nats. skirts), and put a stop to this effort to reduce NZ to poverty.( not that we have that far to go!).
Time for Key to get up to scratch with his information and remove the uncertainty that surrounds this debate.
Its not an issue any longer except in the communist minds of the greenies so into the dustbin of rubbish and onto generating wealth for Kiwi’s.

Folic acid law shock for Hide
4:00AM Sunday Jul 19, 2009
By Carolyne Meng-Yee
MP Rodney Hide warned New Zealand Food Safety Minister Kate Wilkinson against mass medicating bread with folic acid three months ago – a month before the Herald on Sunday broke the story.
Hide, as Minister of Regulatory Reform, said he was “shocked” to learn breadmakers were being forced to add folic acid to all bread and urged Wilkinson – who does not eat bread – to delay the decision. In his April 16 letter, Hide expressed concerns about the lack of choice and potential health risks linked to folic acid.
Ireland and the United Kingdom had recently postponed their plans to force breadmakers to add folic acid because of concerns about links with cancer, he wrote.
“Choice is something that is very important to my party and I had thought to yours … I don’t think the New Zealand public will be happy to find out that there are plans to mass-medicate 4.3 million of them through a product they have no choice but to consume.”
Wilkinson, who does not eat bread because she is gluten intolerant, said in a statement she was aware of Rodney Hide’s concerns.
“The Prime Minister has sought further advice and we are working to find a suitable solution.”
Last week Hide said New Zealand had rejected “the nanny state” in the last election.
“It seems to me the only argument in favour of it is we might upset the Australians which I thought was a plus.”

Since the government has a Minister for Climate Change, I think their position is settled. Stupid, but settled.
And NEVER FORGET – this scam was invented by the Thatcherites and one of the biggest beneficiaries is Goldman Sachs. Communitsts indeed!
Big bruv the noble game, cricket of course dear boy.
One thing about some screaming lefties they were not lacking in guts.
Jim Anderton comes to mind in opening the batting when Gary Bartlett was in action.
Bartlett was as quick as Bond and in those days helmets were not worn, having a short pitched delivery coming off the track was at the least, interesting.
The high tech approach was to have a phone book taped in place to receive the deliveries from Bartlett that went into the ribs
Why should New Zealand farmers be the only ones in the entire world who are expected to pay and support government tax rorts when NO other country in the world has included its agriculture sector in their trading schemes.
I am not a farmer, but it seem farcical to expect our largest export earners are being taxed, because thats all this is ,another tax ,then ask them to compete on international markets for sales.
Why should we as a country lose our export advantage that the WHOLE country benifits from, when no others are exposed to the same rules.
Silly, if the rest of the world include agriculture then fine, but until then its economic suicide.
ONLY IN NEW ZEALAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big bruv, a chucker, hmm, for some strange reason none of us who who batted against him were keen to mention his action
But yes, in comparison to Hadlee and Bond a chucker.
Well, Mynameisjack, thinks they should. As does Nick Smith and apparently a bunch of his party poopers.
MNISJ; Whi is that Rodney has to point out the obvious all the time to these usless Nat. Ministers? eh. They should know this stuff for them selves. If he has to keep it up we should sack the rest for being incompetent and allow Rodney to just get on with the Job.
[DPF: Yes yes we get it. You want to marry Rodney. Here is your problem. National got 45% and ACT 4%. The Government reflects that proportion. Hence you wanting a 100% ACT Government will always be disappointed. Relax and have a drink]
The simple reason is that life is too easy in New Zealand (Te Ika o Maui). We have bountiful rain, a temperate climate, fertile soils and a small population.
This produces a nation of ungrateful spoilt brats who have a sense of entitlement and superiority.
Can any one confirm that the cows in Indian are to be exempt from the fart tax because of their religious status? If this is true then I propose we agree to green Nicks idiotic proposals when the cows in India are taxed!
Big bruv, I do wish they would go back to the old law of five degrees of flex only.
Funny how that so called off spinner with all those so called wickets does not have any trouble keeping his arm from flexing when he is bowling leg spin..
One does wonder why ?
Oh, and change one law, if not playing a shot at a ball that pitches outside leg .
Change the law to include both the off and the leg when a shot is not played, the game is cricket not bloody soccer.
“Oh, and change one law, if not playing a shot at a ball that pitches outside leg .
Change the law to include both the off and the leg when a shot is not played, the game is cricket not bloody soccer.”
I disagree GoH.
Start noballing the bowlers for such negative bowling. What – are they afraid to attack the off stick?
TimG_Oz If I had been a seam bowler I would agree, but I bowled leg spin, why are batsmen so afraid of playing a ball WITH THE BAT that has just spun out of the footmarks ?
Lack of application by batsmen ?
For a leggy to attack the leg stump is hardly negative.

Exactly, while I think the whole deal is a sham, DPF is right on the button. We have to tow the line of what other countries want, we are too small to have any influence.
If the rest of the world wants to make the UN rich and massively increase its power, there is nothing we can do about it (except talk nicely to auntie Helen).
I honestly don’t think this will help “save the planet” one iota.
“Now Redbaiter can keep up with Sarah Palin’s daily life”
I know why you fear her so madly Cha.
She’s going to see your left wing comrades banished from the Republican party and its return to a real opposition, and from that revival will grow similar movements even extending right down here to little ol NZ, and the National party will also be cleansed of ideological traitors, and the clarity of thought and purpose that comes from this catharsis will ensure that all over the globe, the left are at last dispatched back into the sewers they crawled out of.
I am thinking of getting a laptop for internet and business and quite keen on the base model Dell studio 15, with a back lit key pad.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Redsterbaiter – Clarity of thought and Palin. Fuck you make me laugh. Palin’s clarity of thought is the best way to serve the electorate is to walk out on the job. Palin is a quitter, she has no ticker.
Palin is the greatest gift the GOP could give Obama. Between her and Limbaugh they have set the GOP on a downward spiral that will take years to reverse.

If necessary – yes
If we can’t stand up for what we believe in we get what we deserve – in this case socialism by stealth and grinding poverty for future generations.
The man was a cowardly traitor who stabbed America’s armed forces in the back. He was described as “trusted” when the liberal media had nothing like the checks and balances it has today. He began the trend where left liberal journalists inject opinion into their reports rather than just supplying the facts.
Don’t be sucked in by gushing media liberals who perceive Kronkite as their virgin Mary.
“..and the National party will also be cleansed of ideological traitors, and the clarity of thought and purpose that comes from this catharsis will ensure that all over the globe, the left are at last dispatched back into the sewers they crawled out of..”
redbaiter is our own little wannabe pol pot..eh..?
GoH – yes but there is a difference between bowling down the leg side to restrict the scoring, and attacking a batsman around his legs.
Just ask Strauss about the last ashes tour – Warny gripped and spun out of the foot marks, the ball could keep low, rip past off or go straight on. Strauss had no idea what was going to happen – all to often he threw his leg at the ball + missed. The LBW rule never got in Warney’s way.
But a bowler like say Ashley Giles endlessly tossing it down leg and boring us all to tears – stuff that.
BTW If you were a leggie – I was an opening bat. So I’m sure we may have differing opinions. I’ve met some good leggies though that played state cricket and they have no problem with the rule….
Why is it that the Toad puts links to his green blogs on this (NZ’s most popular) blog.
Is it because their own blog is so pitiful that nobody bothers to go there?
By putting up links here he can increase the visits to make the green blog look moderately read.
Methinks you are being used DPF. It is a shabby practice. Another green con.
“[DPF: You want NZ to be the only developed Government in the world that rejects doing anything at all about greenhouse gas emissions? How long exactly do you think our exports will survive? Oh, really? And you think the US will be doing the same to India, China and Brazil at that time? Not to mention jeopardizing our contribution to its spy programmes and access to Antarctica?
[DPF: Yes. The US needs little excuse to go protectionist. The other countries are big and influential. We are not. When you are both the most remote country in the world and one of the smallest, you really don't want to give people an excuse to block your trade]
Shunda Barunda, I’ve had good experience with Lenova and latest models have good reviews. Usually strong and reliable with good screens and keyboards. Also plenty of second-hand available if you want to save money.

What – you mean like breaking our international agreements by pulling out of a commitment to put folic acid in our bread?
pentwig said: Why is it that the Toad puts links to his green blogs on this (NZ’s most popular) blog.
It is because this is a “General Debate” thread – intended for readers to raise issues they want to discuss. Just doing what DPF intended. You might also note that frogblog has General Debate threads for the same purpose.
It’s also interesting to have a few righties coming over to the Green blogs and comment there – gets a bit boring if it’s all greenies agreeing with each other or not bothering to comment at all because they agree with the post and don’t have anything to add or challenge.
I often put in links to blogs and websites other than Green ones too, where they are relevant to the discussion on topic defined threads, BTW. But I don’t threadjack (and wish others wouldn’t).
Yep Giles was a complete bore in going down the leg side, he was never going to get enough turn at speed to trouble batsmen.
But it seems to me the game is weighted too much towards batsmen now.
I don’t want much in wanting batsmen to forget about their soccer skills.
Along with a wicket that gives good bounce and turn from day one of course
Most participants place a link that add humour to the subject or is directly related to the subject.
You add a link to a subject that is not even related to the current discussions.
Sorry Bud but I think that is threadjacking and self serving. I doubt if the host would do that to any of your blogs.
[DPF: Yes. The US needs little excuse to go protectionist. The other countries are big and influential. We are not. When you are both the most remote country in the world and one of the smallest, you really don't want to give people an excuse to block your trade]
Ok, I’m already about to take a bottle of wine off Bernard Hickey this Nov over his daft claim that the median NZ house price will drop 30%.
I’ll do the same to you. I bet you a good bottle of NZ wine that by August 1 2011 the US will not have blocked our trade with it and NZ will not have reduced its greenhouse emissions beyond normal fluctuations due to weather and economic activity.
Rubbish, only being brave enough to stand up for the rights of all our exporters will see our country strong enough to develop a strong future.
Protectionist governments the world over will do what they always do, howl in disgust at others whilst they shore up their voter base by tarriffs on overseas exporters.
Why worry about what may happen to our exporters DPF when if the costs of emisson taxes will drive a large percentage of the same exporters to the wall.
No development ,no taxes to fund government spending,no jobs and absolutely no future for rural New Zealand.
If other countries come on board with agriculture as part of their emission schemes then fine, but only an absolute idiot would front up to say pick me,pick me.
P.S.- If you still want to have us to buy into this crazy idea then take time out to buy a gun and some locks as the down trodden masses will rise up and crash you idealic world as they strive to survive
This is really scary stuff Jack!
So even assets the husband had prior to the marriage is up for grabs. Next they’ll be challenging family trusts and pre-nuptual agreements [not that the latter hold much weight in NZ].
What’s a guy to do?
“”Toad – gets a bit boring if it’s all greenies agreeing with each other or not bothering to comment at all because they agree with the post and don’t have anything to add or challenge”".
It gets a bit borring when its all right wing on this blog..
A thought,The cantabs were all jumping up and down for dingo deans to beat (NZ)the country that Christchurch hates and their national team THE ALLBLACKS, a thought , lets give the fuckwit white australian supporters IE christchurch to the maori as these sheep shaggers dont live in New Zealand and their properties and busnessis should now be maori owned and the white dingo dean sheepshaggers can go and live in Australia, CHCH feral white australian boyracer sheepshagger centre of NZ, a bunch of tossers, ps i have never seen any one in Australia cheering on a team against Australia , but then Australia isnt Christchurch the redneck boyracer sheepshagging center of New Zealand( check out the women ,deans ,cars and sheep are better) bros imagrate to Australia to be close to dingo dean , a LOOSER , unpatriotic shits
The Blockhead of the Week Award goes the the person who decided to stop giving assistance to beneficiaries who want to get a tertiary qualification (eg teaching and nursing) and get off welfare.

Sorry Bud but I think that is threadjacking and self serving.
Not at all on a General Debate thread. Once or twice I’ve been the first to comment on the General Debate thread. Do you think everyone should then stick to my comment topic? Or add humour to the subject I’ve posted on.
Anyway, I thought the advertisement I posted on the g.blog thread I linked to above was very funny – in a very sick sort of way!
She didn’t go for the farm, she went for her contribution to the improvement in value of the farm. That’s different. That’s not something he inherited. Her work helped allow the farm to increase in value, by freeing him up to develop it. So she was working for it as well.
If you were married to someone who inherited a house, and you and your partner slaved away to keep everything together and did up the house shouldn’t you be entitled to part of the value of the improvement you contributed to?
Well since Sarah Palin has rated a mention again (the right’s answer to the submissive mewling occasioned by the thought of Helen Clark in leather boots if ever I heard it), I’ll throw this in…
When a hockey mom named Sarah Palin ran for governor as a Republican outsider in 2006, she took on not only a sitting governor from her own party but also Alaska’s Republican establishment — vowing to clean up a political system that had been rocked by an Federal Bureau of Investigation corruption probe.
After handily winning, her popularity in Alaska soared as she went on to sack political appointees with close ties to industry lobbyists and shelved pork projects. Gov. Palin has shown similar fearlessness in going after Big Oil…
“People see her as the symbol of purity in an atmosphere of corruption,” says Anchorage pollster Marc Hellenthal. “She’s more like Saint Sarah.”
WSJ 15 July 2009:
We don’t really know where the former vice presidential candidate stands on most issues. We know only that she is constantly being maligned, that when we turn on the TV and see her fair face beaming, we are about to hear that some liberal someone has slurred this noble lady yet again.
Indeed, if political figures stand for ideas, victimization is what Ms. Palin is all about. It is her brand, her myth. Ronald Reagan stood tall. John McCain was about service. Barack Obama has hope. Sarah Palin is a collector of grievances. She runs for high office by griping…
To become a symbol of this stature Ms. Palin has had to do the opposite of most public figures. Where others learn to take hostility in stride, she and her fans have developed the thinnest of skins. They find offense in the most harmless remarks and diabolical calculation in the inflections of the anchorman’s voice. They take insults out of context to make them seem even more insulting. They pay close attention to voices that are ordinarily ignored, relishing every blogger’s sneer, every celebrity’s slight, every crazy Internet rumor.
The only choice we have regarding this emissions trading crap is which way we want to wreck our economy. We do not matter on the international stage.
If the rest of the world wants to go nuts our options are limited, go it alone and face economic sanctions, or participate in the madness.
Unfortunately the latter may be the less damaging to our economy.
DPF; The US may have put in place legislation but much of Europe is now bucking the whole Global Warming argument because reality is starting to make headway. Their politicians are realizing what a disaster for their countries it will be.
You can follow this by tunning into Muriels blog. There is plenty of debate there and plenty of comment from lots of places and people.
China doesn’t even care and as an example of their attitude to things look at their arrest of the RIO executives and their response to Australia and Rudd. They will do what they decide is good for them. America will do nothing for it is bordering on broke as is Britain, except it is bordering on bankrupt. Japan and Spain are no better and nor is Italy. France will do what suits them but they are treading a fine line. The Balkan states are now balking because so much of their industry is coal fired.
We just need to do nothing for the present until we see how the scenario plays out. We don’t need to be world leaders in this. (That’s just our ego getting the better of us. aka “little man syndrome.)
We can be nimble and act quickly if the need arises but caution should be our action here.
The unfortunate thing about Smith is he is still traveling on thoroughly discredited graphs and information put out by the IPCC. Something even the IPCC have admitted to.
So more homework, less zealotry and a better considered response before we totally give away our Sovereignty to others.
“The Blockhead of the Week Award goes the the person who decided to stop giving assistance to beneficiaries who want to get a tertiary qualification (eg teaching and nursing) and get off welfare.”
FFS….you want to get off welfare….get a fucking job!.
It is so typical of the left, first blame somebody else for being on welfare then blame somebody else when you claim that you cannot get off it, and lets be honest here, how many bludgers do you really think would see this through?, a few might sign up for it so they can avoid looking for a job for a few years but the vast majority would not bother.
One would have thought that if it was such a great idea they would find another way to attend, to suggest that because the tax payer is no longer funding it that the door is closed to bludgers is simply more left wing bullshit.
DPF; I think I am right in saying the The US legislation was a last minute addition to get a bunch of stuff through which included bailout measures etc. It has yet to go to the Senate and be passed and from what I recall Obama has said that he does not support that particular piece of legislation.
Does anybody really think that Charmian B Hussein Obama needs an excuse to take a protectionist stance?
The man’s sole aim is to lie and cheat his way into a second term, should the people of the USA be dumb enough to give him that second term (and thankfully it looks like they will not) then the bastard will really let loose with his communist plans.
Chairman Hussein will do anything he needs to for the second term, if that means freezing out little old NZ then so be it, if that means cuddling up to the terrorists then so be it, if that means meeting with every dictator in the world but refusing to talk to Fox News then so be it.
At the end of this first (and hopefully last) term the terrorist world will think differently about the USA while its old and true allies will hate it with a passion, Charmian Hussein and Plastic Pelosi will be very happy about that.
Big Bruv: nope, P4 is already dead (Colombia can kiss goodbye to an FTA as well). I told people that was going to happen, but noooooo, “hope and change!” they repeated.
Obviously you didn’t listen to his speech yesterday.
But he has said he does not support protectionist measures. But he is a politician afterall.
The country with the final say will be China and it will do what suits its needs. China has a huge need for electricity and a large % is generated by coal fired generators. Its still building them because it has no nuclear stations and so its choice will be dictated by its own needs. Australia will follow along apologetically with China. It can do nothing else. It is China’s coal supplier and there is no one else who has the capacity nor the reserves of coal.
While Rudd is jetting around the world being the big guy and trying to impose carbon taxes on everybody else and his Minister Penny Wong is trying to put on a brave face at home the reality is that coal exports are one of the major lifebloods of Australia. Already with China cutting back its requirements the Queensland Govt. has gone into hock and it will get worse for them That Govt. exists on mining royalties and spreads the largess around because of them. That the royalties are stopping or slowing down hugely, will focus a few minds before long. (well maybe not they are all Labour )
But a day of reckoning is looming for Aussie coal and for Aussie Iron ore. This week China has reported finding the largest and richest iron ore body known. ( probably been known for years but never publicized.)
One day soon Rudd is going to start to play down his rhetoric over Global Warming in response to this. The big miners who pay his wages (figuratively speaking ) have been making their views known, as have the electricity companies most of whom use coal for generation. The extra cost of electricity has not been lost on the Aussie population.
Another good reason why we should not hurry to play follow the misguided leader and place or own interests in jeopardy.
I’ve been subjected to US Cable TV now for 3 weeks. That’s 3 weeks of Obama (or as I term him “the Chosen One”) coverage. Especially at the hotel bar where the owner has Communist Network Nonsense (CNN) on while I eat and drink. I have managed to avoid Obama’s dribble in the past but after consuming around 6 strawberry daiquiris and an afternoon in the sun, it is quite hypnotic lying under a large ceiling fan hearing him craft another speech written by his white boy speechwriter straight out of school. He gives a damn good speech even though the words coming out usually are utter nonsense.
He’s good. He looks good in a five thousand dollar suit and tie. And he knows how to shake that teleprompter.
So last night we had the Obama speech/sermon to the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People). Most of the first part of the speech was dreadful, about how he was going to spend more of mostly the white man’s money. Being at a coloured convention he received a thunderous applause for every trillion he stole.
But then Obama turned it all on the audience. He was brilliant. I think he wrote this part of the speech himself.
“Government programs alone won’t get our children to the Promised Land,”
“We have to say to our children, ‘Yes, if you’re African-American, the odds of growing up amid crime and gangs are higher, Yes, if you live in a poor neighborhood, you will face challenges that someone in a wealthy suburb does not.’
“But that’s not a reason to get bad grades, that’s not a reason to cut class, that’s not a reason to give up on your education and drop out of school. No one has written your destiny for you. Your destiny is in your hands and don’t you forget that.”
“I want them aspiring to be scientists and engineers, doctors and teachers, not just ballers and rappers,” Obama said. “I want them aspiring to be a Supreme Court justice. I want them aspiring to be president of the United States.”
Only a black President could give that speech. And his speech last week in Ghana where he told African leaders effectively to sort their shit out.
“We must start from the simple premise that Africa’s future is up to Africans,” Obama said in his speech.
“I say this knowing full well the tragic past that has sometimes haunted this part of the world. I have the blood of Africa within me, and my family’s own story encompasses both the tragedies and triumphs of the larger African story.”
If only we could have an effective co-President who made sound fiscal decisions, Obama could simply be sent around on a speaking circuit preaching individual responsibility to different ethnic groups in America and around the world. Out of harms way of the nation’s wallet.
As a passing thought when Obama reached the point in his speech where he told parents to put away the Xbox, wouldn’t it be great to get Obama to New Zealand to speak at one of the many wishy-washy “indigeneous” peoples events? A short excerpt here where he even goes as far to say that parents should hit the neighbours children if they were misbehaving. Only Obama could get away with this:
When his time as President is up, he will be doing that anyway for a large fee. On a President’s salary we would be getting him “for cheap” as they say in these parts.
Rex, I know you’re an extreme left blockhead, but really what the hell is the point of all your kind posting endless diatribes from far left nutjobs on Sarah Palin?? Christ, if I need to view bile spitting bigotry and hate towards Sarah, I only need to visit any left wing website or mainstream media page out there.
Why don’t you at least write something of your own?
Not that it matters either way. We in the true Conservative faction already know she is hated and feared by belly crawling left wing eunuchs and Progressives like you, as well as RINOs who should have been sent packing from the Republican Party years ago.
That’s why we like her more than anybody you approve of.
Yes yes yes, (sigh) its the Wall Street Journal, but I guess you’d be too out of touch and lame to know there is a great difference in political perspective between the editorial staff of the WSJ and its article writers.
Wikipedia, as left wing as it is, still describes the author of your piece, Thomas Frank, in these terms-
“Frank comes from a leftist political perspective and is highly critical of Republican governance, especially the presidency of George W. Bush.”
So what is the true worth of his utterances? I’ll tell you. Nada. Zero. Zip. Sweet fuck all. The only thing you (and all your comrades) transmit from such postings is your mainstream media fed bigotry and fear.
Sarah Palin is most likely going to be the first woman elected POTUS, and you can post all the spiteful hate driven propaganda from left wing nutjobs or turncoat RINOs here you want, it won’t do you one milligram of good.
You cannot overcome her. She defeated a turgid and corrupt Republican Party in Alaska and won the governorship, and she will defeat them in Washington. You need to learn that you abject loser.
Well said, Viking2 @ 6.20 and 7.05pm – voice of reason stuff. The point has come for NZ (and Nick smith in particular) to take a much lower profile in climate change and ETS debates.
Let the debates evolve naturally through their main power bloc protagonists, holding in check NZ’s ridiculous urge for wanting to “lead the world” or “punch above its weight” in the style of the former Clark Government. NZ needs to adopt subtlety rather than zealotry in how it decides – over time – where its best national interests will lie. It’s just too soon to take hard-and-fast positions in this particular policy minefield.
But… but… Reddy, I also think Obama is a snakeoil salesman who’s well out of his depth. Doesn’t that automtically mean I’m a righty?! I mean according to you it’s impossible to form an opinion about a person’s competence and intelligence that’s not entirely based on one’s political biases.
she is hated and feared by belly crawling left wing eunuchs and Progressives like you,
The word’s “mocked”, Red. And as the WSJ points out, if she stopped crawling round and snivelling “poor little me” on every occasion, it would be so much fun.
I noticed your distinct lack of gallantry when, for instance, that video which pretended to shoe Nancy Pelosi first playing with a model airplane, then masturbating, while Bush read his State of the Nation speech, was circulating.
The point of the WSJ item is to suggest it’s a deliberate strategy of Palin and Republican operatives to over-react to material that any other politician would let go by – Pelosi is an example.
your mainstream media fed bigotry and fear
But I’ve formed my (less than complimentary) view of Obama’s lack of depth the same way I’ve gained the impression Palin in thicker than an Alaskan snowdrift. By reading their own words in the media – not the opinion of some stuffed shirt columnist – and figuring out there’s not a hell of a lot of knowledge behind their remarks.
So… does that mean Obama’s on his way to becoming the greatest President America ever had? Must be, by your reckoning.
Rex Widerstrom come on Rex I am looking forward to the moose killer being the chief septic.
After all she only wants to confront Russia in Georgia.
Damn I can hear it now, madam moose killer those Russians have nuked all our airfields in Eastern Europe.
No Rex, you’re one of the six of one half a dozen of the other arseholes who have been fouling it for the right for far too long.
“The word’s “mocked”, Red.”
Naaah, it takes wit and courage to mock someone Rex, qualities often absent in the personal makeup of Progressives. Snivelling liberals cheering the output of other snivelling liberals doesn’t cut it. You keep trying though.
“as the WSJ points out”
Not the WSJ, just one of their nut bar extreme left columnists.
“I noticed your distinct lack of gallantry when, for instance, that video which pretended to shoe Nancy Pelosi first”
I’m not into the juvenile crap that you see on Youtube or wherever else Rex. That’s your speciality. Anyway, Pelosi is one of yours. You defend her. I’ll stick with Palin.
“By reading their own words in the media”
Give me one example at a time Rex, so at the very least I can compare it with some of the weak as piss pseudo liberal Progressive crap you post here, and also give each of your claims the attention it deserves.
Go on. One at a time. Let’s see what you’ve got that isn’t cowardly left wing mainstream media driven bullshit, and what it is that makes you profess to hold Palin in such comparative disdain when other politicians you grovel before demonstrate utter cluelessness in everything they say.
Go on. One at a time. Let’s see how you so rationally came to your conclusions.

Lots of up to date information and discussion at; http://www.nzcpr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=702&sid=2c829019b70929fd9a02f7670ad20a5c&p=23043#p23043

Why the Nats. shouldn’t be allowed out.
July 19th, 2009 at 10:03 am
What rock was Rodney Barely 2% hiding under that it took him until a few months ago to learn something that had beennon the table for several years?
Rodney Hide and Nick Smith -a great pair.
[DPF: A much better pair than those who wanted to continue with the mass medication regime of Annette King]

This emission trading bill is a farce.
July 19th, 2009 at 10:30 am

For those of you who only have the liberal media as a source of information on Kronkite, try this link for a more accurate perspective.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2295734/posts
The man was a cowardly traitor who stabbed America’s armed forces in the back. He was described as “trusted” when the liberal media had nothing like the checks and balances it has today. He began the trend where left liberal journalists inject opinion into their reports rather than just supplying the facts.
Don’t be sucked in by gushing media liberals who perceive Kronkite as their virgin Mary.
Kronkite was a liar and a traitor and a coward.

July 19th, 2009 at 2:57 pm
pentwig said: Why is it that the Toad puts links to his green blogs on this (NZ’s most popular) blog.

Ok, I’m already about to take a bottle of wine off Bernard Hickey this Nov over his daft claim that the median NZ house price will drop 30%.
I’ll do the same to you. I bet you a good bottle of NZ wine that by August 1 2011 the US will not have blocked our trade with it and NZ will not have reduced its greenhouse emissions beyond normal fluctuations due to weather and economic activity.
July 19th, 2009 at 3:32 pm

“I’d give it one to two years max before the US and Europe blocked our exports. The US even has legislation to give them this power]”
How progressive of them.
Don’t worry though, Keisha Castle-Hughes will save us from climate change. She has a blog and everything.

Well since Sarah Palin has rated a mention again (the right’s answer to the submissive mewling occasioned by the thought of Helen Clark in leather boots if ever I heard it), I’ll throw this in…
After initially being supportive of her run for the Vice Presidency that well-known left-wing rag the Wall Street Journal has finally had a gutsful of her whining.

Obama Goes Where White Men Fear

“We need a new mindset”
“Put away the X-Box”
And his speech last week in Ghana where he told African leaders effectively to sort their shit out.
http://media.philly.com/images/20090712_inq_obama12z-d.JPG

Redbaiter expostulates:
But… but… Reddy, I also think Obama is a snakeoil salesman who’s well out of his depth. Doesn’t that automtically mean I’m a righty?! I mean according to you it’s impossible to form an opinion about a person’s competence and intelligence that’s not entirely based on one’s political biases.

The moose killer would whine, nuke Moscow

“Doesn’t that automtically mean I’m a righty?!”
