Wowsers
July 12th, 2009 at 10:11 am by David FarrarThe SST reports:
Air New Zealand’s decision to parade its staff in nothing but body paint has sparked calls for a cover-up.
While the airline’s television advertisement showing airline ground staff and cabin crew servicing the aircraft and passengers in only painted-on uniforms has been a hit on YouTube, it is causing offence in some quarters.
New Zealand’s advertising watchdog, the Advertising Standards Authority, has received a complaint about the advertisement from a viewer concerned that it was airing on TV at a time when children were watching with their parents.
Really don’t some people have better things to do than complain about ads.
Meanwhile the new Air New Zealand safety demonstration is over four million views on You Tube.
I can’t recall a more successful advertising concept in recent times.

The real success of the safety video is that people pay absolutely no attention these days to the safety messages, whether demonstrated in person or via video.
That Air NZ has been able to get people to look again is surely a good thing, even if it raises few eyebrows from the more prudish.
It wasn’t so long ago we all thought Air NZ was a tired, clapped out and financially distraught airline. Most people would probably concede the new leadership has been excellent, regardless of whether we think it should be state owned or not (and it shouldn’t be!).

Yep, another bunch of useless socialist garbage rule making people. Time to rid NZ of all these do gooding quango’s that all the mindless and useless complain to and the Taxpayers, workers and business owners have to support before we make a dollar for ourselves. Time your favourite party in Govt. got its stuff together and cut these people off the state tit. That’s what they promised David.
Vote:Time you started to say so and enticed them to ACT.

A communist airline that won’t be around much longer.
Who cares what they do?
Fuck em.

This is how you do a Plane Warning Message.

Yeah but seriously, where do I have to fly to, to get on a plane with trolley dolleys that look (and dress) like that?

Got to give Air NZ lots of kudos for this promotion. Up there with the best.

The inflight safety thing is going down well with customers, probably why the humourless idiots are complaining.

Saatchi & Saatchi did it for Elave (nothing to hide, minus the bodypaint) 2 years ago.

Anyone who would complain about something like this has pretty much missed the point of being alive.

People complaining about such pathetic things need to have their names blacklisted so that they can be recognised as idiots and their future complaints can be ignored.

It’s a safe bet to guess most of these bastards are either Labour or Green Party followers, losers and no-hopers who live miserable lives and would like to inflict the same punishment on the rest of the populace.
The best response to these lunatics is the one-finger salute.

No No No. Not greenies or liarbors, they all like a bit of slap and tickle but maybe Progressives. You know the God bothers et al.

Doesn’t bother me overly much, but I suppose if u have kids it may do.
The woman who did the body painting for the ad did the same with a couple of models in the shop windows of Queen St Whitcoulls in May this year as part of a promotion and quite a lot of people stopped and snapped pics with their cellphones.
From memory I think one of them had the Habour Bridge painted on him.
ps, I think I saw an ad while I was on Facebook advertising outtakes from the AirNZ ad that you could view online.

No boobs, no foul. It’s the first time in 15 years I’ve paid attention to the safety demonstration – not because I need to perve, but to admire the risque spirit of people that normally bore me.
