he actually talked a whole lot of shite including about how russell brown was the only person to break a story in the MSM – how many have you or Whale or any number of others put out there?…mind you, given he also wanked on about Tim Watkin and how great (cough cough) Red Alert was…perhaps he should stick to knitting tea cosies for alliance fundraisers.

RIPPED Danyl. I think he would’ve got there except he started mentioning blogs by their political biases, which IMHO isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions The Dim-Post.

he actually talked a whole lot of shite including about how russell brown was the only person to break a story in the MSM

I don’t think he said that, he mentioned Brown a being *a* case of having done so with the KidsCan telethon, and then DPF as *probably* having broken the Helen Clark UN thing.

Tumeke results are a load of crap. Since the losers that run the site have moved to North Korean style censorship their comments have dropped off hugely ( most people were just going there to laugh at what a complete dumbfuck Bomber is ), yet they have maintained their place in the hierarchy. I call BS on that.

Has anyone ever seen THEIR stats?

    It’s a have I tell ya.

Danyl – true genius is never appreciated till you’re dead. Just saying.

Nobody knows exactly where this is heading. But one thing for sure media, especially print media, is in for a hiding and newspapers may cease to exist. There is no obvious viable commercial model for print media especially the “morning newspaper”. Mudoch has thought about this long and hard but I think morning newspapers are a gonner the same way afternoon papers are.

What a boring old twadder. Columnist and writer with a demographic of the aged and infirm….and obsessed enough about Helen Clark to write a whole book about her which judging from all accounts is “nothing to see here that Edwards hasn’t already blabbed on about”.

4 out of the 5 top rating blogs are right wing (if you include Kiwiblog). Even without official ratings you could judge that and unlike wankers who blog under the guise of Stuff, NZ Herald or other media outlets that already have a corporate brand, people read these blogs solely for us.

Welch then trots on about bloody pinkos, journos who blog (under the guise of the corportes they work for) and Russell Brown’s “real homework”. Another excellent piece of balance from Radio NZ.

What’s their ratings these days? Kiwiblog would have doubled the listener numbers just by linking the audio clip.

Welch wants to write about Norman Kirk next according to his interview with the tall gay guy off Morning TV.

Like I am sure Dim, who was sadly for him not in the top 5 so not mentioned and I guess Welch couldn’t work out if any of his posts were serious anyway, I can hardly contain my excitement.

    Bomber stays.

The more he’s on TV the greater the drive to the right.

    Whats with the “experts” DPF?
Buchanan and Beatson are exactly that.
In the same way you are an expert in rating Hawaiian scenery.

I believe Mr Bradbury’s television show is one of those community access ones where you stump up the production costs and they agree to broadcast it for you. It certainly looks that way from the production values on display (BTW when did wollen vests become fashionable for the lefties?).

Although I appreciated the compliment and mention of kiwipolitico, I thought that the most interesting aspect of Mr. Welch’s comments (beyond his reaffirmation that DPF is the Lord of NZ blogs) is the issue of comment moderation. As is known, kiwipolitico took a hard line on the issue, moderating any vulgarity or personal attacks. It lost us some readers but it kept the debates civil and reasoned. In contrast, the tone of commentary discourse both here and elsewhere has deteriorated to the point that moderation experiments have been trialed here, and even the venerable No Minister has adopted moderation. That hard fact is that allowing your site to become a “troll farm” (WO’s words, not mine) damages your brand. The issue is not ideological, but one of civility in a forum that is largely dedicated to the discussion of politics and other social issues.

As for Seajay and his “expert” comment–care to illuminate us on your areas of “expertise?” Or are you just being snarky because the lack of moderation allows you to be so?
