From Kevin Rudd’s Flickr account. John Key would have been a relieved man at the whistle.

Got to say Rudd had the easier punishment: black with a small logo on it is fairly easy to ignore as it sort of merges with the suit. If John Key lost, he’d have to wear green and gold, which is a lot harder to overlook

repeating my comments in another forum … does anyone really believe Henry would still be coach of the ABs if they had LOST by one point?

Yes Ross. Just look at his history.
As it stands, NZ has won 17 of the last 14 Blediswoes.
Robbie has won one of the last six!!
Time to give it a rest????

Perhaps you mean 14 out of 17?

OK, so far Robbie Deans has been unable to make the Wallabies beat the All Blacks. But the phrase comes to mind about a silk purse and a sow’s ear. His stock of forwards to work with is nothing like what Henry has at his disposal, especially in the scrum. He is doing well with what he has got. (The difference was only 1 point on Saturday, remember. One kick by Carter that could have gone astray.)

The question is not whether Robbie Dean’s 2009 Wallabies are better than Graham Henry’s 2009 All Blacks. The real question is could the All Blacks be doing better now if Robbie was in charge of them? We will never know, because that is a “might have been” of history.

But how Henry kept his job is the biggest mystery of all. Prior to RWC 07 he asked to be judged on his results. The result was knocked out in a quarter final, the worst result ever. Any of the rest of us would be losing our jobs on that result!!

That’s the logic of a leftie bagging the referendum!
A wins a win, and so far Henry’s ahead and Deans is behind – that’s the facts.
I don’t think Henrys doing fabulous, far from it – but I don’t think Deans is the answer. His last stint at AB co-coach was a disgrace, and I’ll still never forget his shocking treatment of Christian Cullen.
I think Henrys problem is he’s relying too much on strategy from Wayne Smith

Not only has Deans never been All Black co-coach but the very correct and timely dumping of Cullen was done by messers Mitchell, Shaw and Crowley, Deans being assistant coach with no selectorial input at the time.

So just before the welsh test in 2002 when Cullen was told by Deans (in Mitchells presence) that he had been dropped – he imagined it? and that Deans had decided to play Ben Blair – Cullen imagined that as well?

shit, Cullen and John Matheson must have been on drugs to have imagined all that, no wonder Deans…. sorry Mitchell, Shaw and Crowley dropped him
