Anyone know who the 18 National Greens are?

If the only requirements to join are a pulse and a Nat membership card (plausible) Blue-Greens = PR exercise.

" I’m with Jack5, I want to know who these 18 National party idiots are, the bastards should be drummed out of the party. "

I agree. Smith should have been drummed out of the party a decade ago. In political terms, a weak no idea compromiser.

However Mallard's rumour needs to be either substantiated or put to death. This is an issue Key needs to speak out on. Did Key give informal approval to Sharples corrupt act or not. If he did, then he should be drummed out of the party too.

I'm disappointed that so called right wing blogs are not covering this issue with more vigour. The misappropriation of taxpayer money by Sharples to curry favour with his cronies at Maori TV is an outrageous example of state theft, and a perfect illustration of why politicians these days are so often regarded with utter contempt.

If Key did indeed give verbal or tacit approval to Sharples then it is an utter disgrace. I don't know whether Key did as claimed or not, but given his general cluelessness and confusion about the Maori party, it wouldn't surprise me.

Should be down another few points in the next opinion poll if the rumour is true.

Re Colin James (blog 4 above): Anyone know who the 18 National Greens are?

We have Melon Greens for the leftist greens (red on the inside), so what will we call these centrist blue-greens? The Young Turquoise? The Aqua Tongues? The Aqua Factor? The Aqua Hackas? The teal deal? The tealy feelies?

"# Tim Selwyn at Tumeke covers the sentence of Taito Phillip Field, noting “With Mike Williams as President of the party, with Helen as PM, with Cullen as the deputy, and with Margaret Wilson as the Speaker the government had become so sleazed up that an MP as corrupt as Field was tolerated for as long as they possibly could. It’s not a pleasant passage in the annals of the NZ Labour Party.”

Good point Rex. I suggest the spelling mistake in 'annals' needs to be edited though. 'Pleasant passage' is OK though in these enlightened times.

Parliament is to be commended in its belated dipping of the toes into 20th century technology a century later and accepting emailed submmissions. I'm certain this will increase the volume,as the whol business if ttying to find a post box just seems so arcane unless it's for a package.

When I worked at Parliament we had email addresses of course, but they weren't widely known. I used to wish they were - then perhaps people would just have emailed us Flickr photos of poo rather than feeling the need to mail the actual thing :-D

Interesting perspective from Tim Selwyn there, DPF. Can we expect to see it show up in the "quotable quotes" section of the Kiwiblog sidebar?

'# Whale Oil solves two problems at once by suggesting the Palmerston North be turned into a quarantine station for Gingas :-) "

Thank Christ I'm not a ginga. As a Duckvillian they would bar me from entry so it would be the body parts directorate for me.

Okay linkwhoring away- www.sciblogs.co.nz :)

It was officially launched Wednesday last week. It's a network of NZ science bloggers setup by the Science Media Centre. Contributers seem to be drawn from a range of areas and viewpoints.

Out of curiousity, are people giving sciblogs a look? Both Macdoctor and myself (Environment and Ecology) are syndicated on that science network.

I'm not really expecting a big overlap between the politics blog networks and the science blog networks, but hey, you never know :)

Trevor Mallard blogs his denial of an alleged rumour, as a way to ensure the rumour gets plenty of notice. Propaganda 101.

And it's most certainly NOT about the B-3 bomber.
