If it pleases the court, I think what he wrote is more of an attempted derailing.

“I ask: What is the role of government? Surely a principled and professional fourth estate; newspapers, radio, TV and now online media is critical to the functioning of our society and our democratic system? We, as policy-makers and legislators, can’t just leave it to that thing called the market.”

Stop a minute and really think about what this creature is saying.In damming the "market" she's really damming people like you,me and probably even her in most areas of her life, who want to freely interact and trade value for value amoungst ourselves without force being used.Think about what kind of mentality could be opposed to that and begin to understand that when Libs et el call the socialists evil and anti human we are not just spouting off....they mean it.

They’re just dumb today. See the “500 comments” thread when they’re going on about the dearth of evidence regarding the left’s wish to shut down right wing comment when the evidence is right here on this thread before their damn blind eyes in the words of Clare Curran on Red ALert. For just one example. - Redbaiter

“all over the blogosphere, the left are accelerating their efforts to shut down Kiwiblog”? - Redbaiter on 500 comments
</blockquote>

Interpretation - Clare Curran wants to shut down Kiwiblog? Yeah, right. It be "guessed" with more justification that she wants to provide funding for Kiwiblog to maintain it's current excellence.

"Whale Oil has audit reports and spending details for Te Reo Marama – a Maori anti-smoking group. The audit details are to come, but the travel details alone are staggering. Journalists should be asking questions."

Speaking of which as our Cammy is now a beneficiary is he fully declaring all earnings from his various blogs, including the one registered in Belize?

Whats wrong with the left these days? Bloody Russel Brown praising old Shonkey, shit is nothing sacred. Give me the good old days when the left was loony and despised anyone that didn't do the goose step. It's a worry when your once mortal enemy now thinks our one hope is a cool dude. I long for the old days when the left were bad bastards and I knew where I stood, all this love for ones enemy is to much for me.

On point # 5 - It would be unlikely for the mainstream media to pick up on this one, most of them wouldn't know a decent story if it ran them down in the street.

From Clare Curran, (I think the commie who wrote that notorious article on language some years ago)

"I ask: What is the role of government? Surely a principled and professional fourth estate; newspapers, radio, TV and now online media is critical to the functioning of our society and our democratic system? We, as policy-makers and legislators, can’t just leave it to that thing called the market."

Same old control freak bullshit. The joke is there are still people out there who think the left's historical objectives might have changed. They have always been, control the information, control the language, hell, control every damn thing.

Don't think the people who have always been so willing to shut down free speech will stand by and let the criticism they suffer from online commentors continue. A leopard cannot change its spots. Figuring out a way of stopping the free exchange of ideas in language they object to on the internet is their main priority right now.

Watch for it, for in line with what soviets and leftists have always done, it will come in language and a political package designed to make it appear to be the opposite of what it really is. (That's one of Clare's special skills)
