Had a call from Vodafone trying to convince me to sign up for their broadband package. I pointed out I was already signed up to their broadband, so they moved on to home phones. Again, pointed out I was already with them. Then they moved on to mobiles. After assuring them I already had a Vodafone mobile as well, I was informed they would update their records. You’d think they’d know they number they were calling was provided by them.

Ever since I changed my broadband and tolls to slingshot about every 6 months telecom call asking questions along those lines and saying things like “who is your current phone and broadband provider?” and “oh, well we believe our rates are very competitive with theirs”
They are always told politely to bugger off and “yes, I’m very happy with my current provider”

they been ripping us hard core for years man.
2degrees comes along and over night halves my prepay expense by at least half.

Ha! That’s not Telecom, it’s Mikey Havoc doing community service…”You will work in a Telecom call centre and ask the following question until you are bawling with the vitriol directed your way. Next case…”

We merged two companies once (one already with Telecom, one with Telstra). We contacted both Telecom and Telstra to compare prices, service levels etc.

The Telecom person seemed gobsmacked, and completely unprepared for someone enquiring how to change a land-line connection *back* to Telecom.

A received a similar call from Vodafone, who – having just rung me on my cell phone – asked me for my password before they could talk about my account. Not especially smart and I couldn’t be bothered talking anyway.

Funny how the Worst of Telecom was associated with Dr Rod Deane. Who was part of the new right agenda. These are the people who killed the privatisation agenda in NZ by poor service and overcharging
