Has anyone else noticed that just as Borker gets banned, Zapper appears to replace him?
The language is a dead giveaway.

As I previously posted tto Billy/Zapper/MNIJ the tone and language is too similar.
Besides which DPF would know the IP addresses, so maybe he “allows” the continued attacks on Christians.

While many may worship Clark, many despise her and genuinely believe she put herself first and of New Zealand. It would be nice if some MP put forth a private members bill to ban awards to politicians. There may be some politicians in the past worthy of an award but certainly none in recent times.

Regardless of whether Bongard deserved the award, he is not to blame for China hammering F&P Appliances. Chinese competition has knocked hell out of whiteware manufacturers throughout the developed world, and in developing countries with slightly higher than Chinese wages (eg Mexico). What has happened to whiteware parallels moves to China of manufacturing of textiles, shoes, clothing, toys, and many other goods.As low Chinese wages attract bigger orders, returns to scale add to China’s advantages. Supply pipelines have consolidated in China and shipping from China has become frequent and efficient.

Above all, the Chinese currency, fixed artificially low by the Chinese government, proved the coup de grace for manufacturing from NZ, with its artificially high currency (as persistent current account balances prove). Pumping up our currency are the narrow instruments used by the Reserve Bank to control inflation, helped by the talking up of the kiwi dollar by Ministers like English (how lucky NZ is) and Brownlee (bullshit about NZ having more mineral wealth than Australia). Add to this the frequent bullish hype from some economists at trading banks, which funnel overseas funds into NZ for lending out.

IMHO, the F&P board (and later F&P Appliances board) and Bongard deserve praise for keeping the company’s NZ manufacturing viable for so long. They diversified manufacturing to first Australia, then Thailand. They came up with innovative products. They made alliances with overseas manufacturers. They sucked out every bit of NZ support that was available, eg all the local body help for the Mosgiel plant. Bongard didn’t keep his head in the sand. He tried hard, against the tide, which inevitably won.

That is what the Honours Committee has told New Zealand today.

They have said Fuck You Very Much, New Zealand.
