The girl is stupid to put herself in the situation she got in. I mean, who goes down the alleyway with friends and the musician at that time of the night. Surely if she was reading the signs right she would know what his intent was. Did she agree that he could kiss her? We know where kissing leads. I don’t feel sorry for this girl. If she had half a nut then she wouldn’t get herself in this situation. Did she do it just for the money and attention? Its a hard line I’m crossing but this is my opinion.

The musician has a problem with drugs or alcohol in that he got into a state of intoxication where he committed a crime and has no recollection of the event. The criminal justice system may not be the best way to address his problems, but he’ll be back in the courts again if he doesn’t get straight (despite the references from his chums).

I do not think Sir Geoffrey thinks very clearly on these issues. A celebrity I would have thought could easily show extreme hardship on name suppression. Ordinary Joe Blogs who firstly does not earn their income from public appearances, secondly no-one is all that interested in Joe Blogs so there is not much harm. A celebrity is quite different and will gets loads of publicity and should be able to show extreme hardship. Own goal in my mind.
