The point is that you do not get married unless you make a vow to the other person, to yourself, to God and/or the state (whichever your inclination), and to whoever else you have chosen to witness your marriage.

Not true. Some people just marry for money and an easy life*. And God isn’t even invited to the ceremony. In that case, is it OK for the other party to play around?

*As a South African friend once said: ‘money breeds well’.

As others have pointed out, if you can’t stick to one person, don’t get married in the first place. Because if you do, and then you break that vow with another person, it shows that you are a weak person that does not deserve trust.

No amount of money, prowess at sport, level of intelligence, quantity of friends etc etc etc can ever take away from the fact that you’ve broken what is meant to be the most serious spoken promise of your life. We are NOT animals. We are intelligent beings who are meant to understand what we are doing.

Now all I have to do is make sure I stay loyal to my husband so that I do not have to eat my own words.

Yes, He would have let you know Billy. He always does, without fail.

It’s just that you missed it, or weren’t even trying, perhaps thinking it was up to Him to show Himself as opposed to the other way round. I mean, why would the Creator of the Universe be at all interested in you? What have you ever been or done?

And yet the amazing thing is Billy, that He IS interested in you and everyone else. But it’s your choice, and He won’t fail you IF your choice is genuine. Of course if you’re just making it up then He knows that and what do you expect?

Frankly I’m surprised you know that, most non-believers have no idea what the bible says, before they decide to reject it out of hand.

Maybe I’m not like most non believers. I know what I reject and why I reject it. I played hide and seek with god for a long time, but he always hid, never sought.

True, but more accurately, they are products of the Progressive political culture. Not able to perceive of concepts like fidelity or self respect. No moral boundaries. Selfish narcissists who will do anything if they think nobody is watching, which is of course is the most important time of all for self restraint and decency.

The funny thing is they are the very people you will often find here bemoaning the state of NZ but who do not realise it is their own moral bankruptcy that empowers the left. Fools to themselves they are easily manipulated and exploited by equally morally corrupt socialists.

There is no appeal that can be made to these people on the basis of decency or morality, and it is this nihilism that the power obsessed socialists are most grateful for, because it clears a pathway for their own corrupt endeavours on a much more expansive scale.
