Is the red dress (I didnt think she wore anything other than pant-suits), and the red inside the ‘gong’ symbolic of the blood she sucked out of the average Kiwi over the previous nine years?

Hey Fran (O’Sullivan). Please note the blogosphere only arose because people were unhappy with having only those opinions that the eltist left wing media considered approved voiced in public.

You do not have a monopoly on opinion any more. Your criticism of the “right wing blogosphere” and their unhappiness at Klark’s award are noted, but really, we don’t give a stuff.

There’s probably not a right wing blogger writing today who does not remember how impossible it was to get a letter to the editor (that expressed views outside those approved by the Progressive gate keepers) published during the time when the internet was not so widely read.

The days when people like Klark could remain untouched by real criticism from the man in the street are long gone. I suggest you get used to that fact.

Clark is still arogant. She wasnt surprised that she got an award. She acted as if she expected it and deserved it. True that maybe byt New Zealanders hate such an attitude. Just another reason why Im glad she is gone

Definately captured her beauty in that pic. Did you notice that TV3 are still using the airbrushed supermodel pictures.

I think being out of politics has softened her a wee bit – heard her on ZB the other morning and she sounded relaxed and happy. I guess it must be that the need to rehearse every sound bite has gone and she can be herself again. She even gave a laugh that sounded like a genuine happy laugh rather than the smug fake cakkle we have gotten used to. Still glad she’s gone though!!

Now back to reading Going Rogue!

As long as there is a UN and she is part of it, she will continue to control us. Watch her continue to climb the control ladder until she is the fox in charge of our hen-houses. She is being, as ever, patient and clever.

I got a laugh when I heard her on the radio. She mentioned about the internet and how it kept her connected to NZ. She then said how she called he parents nearly every day and then she added hastily and my husband also.

“Now back to reading Going Rogue!”

It’s a great read about a fascinating woman. She can sit at her kitchen table, post on facebook and stir the US in a whole lot of different ways. Type, type, type, send, kaboom.

Even lefties are acknowledging she is the outright political winner of 2009. And she has done it without the help of a rich and powerful husband, a privileged upbringing, a pluty education or any form of political machine behind her. And it was only a few months ago that many of the same lefties (and not a few righties) were declaring her political death after her resignation.

Her 2010 starts by headlining a couple of major Tea Party conferences and with the mid terms in November it is likely going to be a fun year for the Arctic Fox.

Politicians, who are paid handsomely and given ample other rewards for their services, should not be eligible for such honours unless of course the honour recognises achievement in another field after their political career.

I’m put in mind of the expression, used when someone has competently carried out the task for which they’ve been paid and then wants additional acknowledgement: “Whaddya want, a medal?”.

In Clark’s case the answer was clearly “yes, please”.

[Nor should sports people if it’s purely for sporting achievement, which is widely recognised and celebrated in other ways, as well as often being well remunerated].

Spent a couple of days reading the book (and looking at the pictures) about Sarah Palin and have to admit I can’t see they are of the same gender.

There was a good short letter in the paper version of the NZ Herald almost directly under the cartoon –

Helen Clark said she “wasn’t really missing New Zealand”.
Shouldn’t love of the country be essential for membership of the Order of New Zealand?
