Bridges reported to be okay after counselling

February 14th, 2010 at 11:29 am by David Farrar

The SST reports:

Prime Minister might be on the wrong side of 40, married, and with a job that is more stressful than sexy, but that has not stopped Kiwis voting him as the country’s hottest politician.

The 48-year-old pipped (with 43% of votes) his much younger, and some would say more cosmetically appealing colleague, Tauranga MP (33%), in an online survey of 700 Kiwis.

Friends and family of Simon Bridges have been keeping a non-stop vigil on him, since he received the news that a 48 year old father of two was judged hotter than him.

After multiple interventions and counselling, we think he will be okay and over time will recover. But members of the public are asked to help safeguard his mental health and not mention the poll results to him.

Auckland Central MP took out the female title with 32% of the votes, followed by another National MP, Melissa Lee (24%), and young Labour MP Jacinda Ardern (19%).

Kaye said that although she thought it was “lovely” that she had been chosen as the nation’s hottest female politician, she was not sure whether it would help her love life. Kaye is single.

“Yesterday I turned 30 and I was feeling down in the dumps, I had the 30 blues, but this news has just made it all better – it has made my day.

“I just hope there weren’t too many of my relatives in the survey sample.”

Good God, I thought Nikki was the MP for Auckland Central, not the MP for Tasmania.

ROTFLOL I don’t think she thought that through at all

[DPF: I think she was trying to be modest and say that she is surprised people voted for her, and it may have been relatives being nice to her – but oh dear the way it came out is hilarious]

It is hard to look at Jacinda from a hotness factor when you hear her hair brain words on ones Breakfast show….. A very swayed socialist thought process…..

Wasn’t Il Duce considered attractive by the women in the 1920s. I don’t think that people being thought attractive is any reason to support them

    Inky

Then why did Klark and co airbrush the hell out of her portrait?

Good looks does have a part to play in being elected, JFK would not have been President were it not for the fact that he was a damn sight better looking than Dick Nixon.

I don’t think JFK was a great US President. I’m not sure that Nixon was worse. Nixon had the problem of fighting a war started by JFK and increased by LBJ. If he didn’t have those legacies his presidency may have looked far better.

JFK had the additional advantage that he was wealthier than Nixon.

I can think of around 50 million reasons why women might think JK was hot :-)

I guess it depends on how much time on the tele the MPs are getting. JK is by far the most viewable National politician. He dresses smartly, and has a nice manner. He is also married and dedicated to his wife and kids – so unattainable for women. That makes him more attractive presumably.

But from a guys perspective, yeah, Nikki is cute, and being 30 and single is nothing to worry about. Perhaps she should be made the “Minister for Man-drought Reduction”, with the portfolio aimed at encouraging single kiwi men to return home and shack up with a nice kiwi lass :-)

Walking up College Hill Road in Auckland, there’s a poster of Nikki Kaye, and I gotta say… it’s not a good photo.

Psst! All Simon Bridges needs to do to take the crown from the PM is unleash his wicked Tom Jones impersonation. He’s probably holding back so as not to peak too early in the run up to the next election.

What happened to the Labour Hottie – Steve Chadwick. Something to turn back the Mongol hordes I would have thought.

And Jacinta Adern – reminds me of a sign on a hand drier in Gore in the late 70’s “Press the button for a 30 second speech by Muldoon”!

Conor Roberts is the sexiest man in New Zealand politics. If only he had Google Alerts set up on his name, perhaps he would know my heart and my Valentine’s hopes would come true.
