A US teen convicted of using Facebook to blackmail dozens of male classmates into sex has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Nineteen-year-old Anthony Stancl of New Berlin showed no emotion as the sentence was handed down on Wednesday.
Stancl pleaded no contest in December to two felonies, including repeated sexual assault of a child.
He apologised during sentencing, saying he has learned to understand what his victims went through.
He had faced a maximum 30-year sentence.
Stancl is accused of posing as a girl on Facebook and tricking more than 30 male classmates into sending him naked photos of themselves, then using the photos to blackmail them for sex.
You know if I was 16 and a guy gave me a choice of him releasing a naked photo of me, or having sex with him, it would not be a difficult decision. I’d choose the embarrassing photo over well, coerced sex.
It seems he coerced 7 out of 31 classmates into sex over having the photos released. Amazing.

Reminds me of a story of an English don who took his all male study group off for a visit to the country one hot summer day. Eventually , as they were hot and by a river they all stripped off and did a bit of skinny dipping. On getting out of the water they were all standing completely naked when sudden a canoe containing 3 young ladies hoved into site. All the study group instinctively covered their dangly bits with both hands. The don rapidly put both hands across his face. As the shocked women floated by one student asked the don ” why did you cover your face? He replied .That’s the part of MY anatomy that I am usually recognised by!

DPF, yes, well, the whole thing is a bit sordid and distasteful and I would agree with you, but do you remember high school at all? Just think about having naked photos of you released (doing god knows what) and of the peer pressure – of having to go to that school every day and seeing those people, knowing they are sniggering about your photos behind your back. Being ostracized. Girls wanting nothing to do with you – for, how many years of high school? And with the internet and social networking these days it wouldn’t be just the one school – everyone can see you. It wouldn’t be any use moving to another school.
Thinking about all this it’s easy to see the hold this guy had over the people he was blackmailing. The effect would be devastating.

I’m assuming it was more than that the pictures were naked – I presume they were also otherwise incriminating.
Reminds me of the game to be played with Nigerian scammers:
- scammer: I’m a good religious guy, and have some money for you
- you: I need evidence you’re religious, can you send some photos
– scammer: here’s a photo of me at church
– you: in my church, we show our respect for the lord by dancing naked with broom handles shoved up our backsides. Can you send me a photo of that?
– scammer: sure, I’m part of that religion too, here’s some photos
And so on.
There was a website devoted to it, and they got the scammers to do some pretty stupid things. Rather amusing.

And Fletch, further to your comment; what about adding Photoshop into the equation – I mean we all remember Helun Klark’s photoshopped election cards. If they can make ‘Dear ex-Leader’ look good, then it would be no trouble to graft someones head onto a naked body, and just say it’s them.
But that aside – how dumb do you have to be to send a naked photo of yourself to anyone, let alone a total stranger?
And DPF:
This guy may start a trend – that’s a pretty good strike rate; 23%.
Vote:Imagine if instead of sex you went for the cash option – what’s the going rate for nude photos if these kids were prepared to have homosexual sex, especially on the basis that they’re all heterosexual as the guy posed as a woman to get the photos in the first place? The mind boggles as to the possibilities.

It just goes to show how insecure femininely subdued and brain washed todays males have became… to be black mailed in such a way… and why wasn’t he perpetrator given the maximum 30-year sentence.
In the old days before PC and PCs perverted pricks like this one were quickly weeded out and dealt with by their local communities..

I feel the same way, DPF, at any age. But then again, we both fall into that category of males for whom the harm inflicted on the viewer would significantly outweigh that inflicted upon the subject
