Mayor Jesus

April 18th, 2010 at 10:16 am by David Farrar

The HoS reports:

North Shore Mayor is facing fresh criticism after comparing himself to Jesus on the cross.

In an email about reports he urinated on a tree after drinking at a Takapuna restaurant, he wrote to councillors: “Two people were crucified at Easter – and one of them is me.”

And the SST:

“I now know how General Custer felt surrounded by a thousand Indians wanting his blood. But on this occasion me thinks that right will win through and the `dark forces’ will eventually be put down.”

Jesus and General Custer? So that is General Jesus Williams?

Whale Oil has obliged by providing a photo of General Williams.

Eerrr….. Firstly Custer was demoted back to LTCOL after the civil war after he had achieved fame for being the ‘boy general’ at 23 mainly due to his parentage and good looks. Secondly, he was an arrogant fool with mediocre leadship and tactical ability. Also he made poor assumptions abut his enemy (never make an assumption abut your enemy) and failed to make reasonable deductions of their ability. Perhaps a poor choice of analogy by Mayor Williams yet with all considerations quite fitting !!!

Behind the bikesheds a school joke was “What is six inches high, pink and has an arrow through it?” “Custer’s Last Stand!”
Considering Williams’ public display of privates, perhaps this further reinforces the analogy.

Does this guy ever stop crying about how hard done by he is? If he is actually as in need of psychological help as he seems – possible persecution and God complexes, paranoia, failure to accept responsibility for his actions, perception issues: the schism between reality and his perception of it – perhaps he should go and see a psychologist. If he’s not in need of psychological help, he needs to man up, grow a pair, stop crying, accept that his problems are the result of his own behaviour and keep his stupid opinions to himself.

yup – He does seem to have a grandiose sense of self-importance. He doesnt need to pay a psychologist to tell him where thats going………

I can think of another analogy… recently there was somebody else in the news with a high sense of self importance and a narcisist. He’s in jail now.

The God of the south Mayor Tim Shadbolt may be feeling the same heat as General Custer felt surrounded by southern natives wanting his blood… also crying about how hard done by he is… It looks as if there will be be more than one with their backs to the wall… having their last stand.

Yes he clearly doesn’t have the right stuff to be a leader of a scout troop let alone a large city. If an erratic mistake had occurred once only and he’d learned from it and not repeated, fair enough. But in his case they’ve gone on and on and on.

Which raises the question of what those people who still support him are like as well.

Um, no he’s not. Rodney Hide is still the tail wagging the government’s dog.

LRO – I wasn’t referring to Rodney, nor do I think he can be described as a narcisist. However I intentionally left the statement open for individual interpretation, if that is what you would like to think.

Williams has a screw loose or worse and thank goodness later this year he will be turfed out. I doubt he will get elected to anything on the super city. Perhaps if he stood out west or or Whanganui.

Brilliant idea tvb! I’ll buy the ticket concession for that one… I can see the posters now: “W(h)anganui: Clash of the Narcissists!!!” (you always need three exclamation points on these things.

If Williams thinks he’s Jesus, and Jesus was a Jew, and Williams clearly doesn’t mind waving his privates about in the street, perhaps he was merely trying to demonstrate he’d been appropriately attended to by a Mohel?

How so? Rodney was given the task of setting up the supercity by those who want it….National. Labour were also going to do it so to blame Act/Rodney for doing a job the bigger boys were going to have done anyway is just silly.National have brilliantly managed to deflect any flak from themselves by having Rodney as the frontman and we should all be damm glad he is.No race based seats, councils hopefully restricted to core functions, the regulatory responsibility bill potential….would a Nat have the balls to follow that path? I doubt it.

Captain Neurotic Custer was not “demoted” after the war, he reverted to his permenant rank. He had been a brevet Brigadier General. Many of his men adressed him as general anyway.

Both ranks appear on his marker at Little Big Horn. And as big a cluster as he made of that fight (and in fact his command was NOT wiped out) he is nowhere near in the same class as Jesus/Custer/I’m Bigger Than God Williams.

Who is the one that decided to take a piss in public? Who is the one sending out emails comparing himself to Jesus? Who is the one known to be sending out inappropriate texts/emails late at night? Who is the one who is responsible for the timing of these? Come on mjanderson these things were reported on as soon as they happened, its not like they held onto the info until the campain started.

@ mjanderson – there’s something of a difference between character assassination, and having a laugh at the expense of a pompous fool who keeps manufacturing ammunition for his critics.

Cheers Murray, I was not aware of his rank status nor his grave site – yet to visit it! Comparatively the loss of the Battle of Little Bighorn was small, however the guy in general was a cock and relied upon the superiority of the ‘whiteman’ to win his battles.

Interestingly Neurotic he was one of the least mutilated (having the tip of one finger cut off) because he was a ralative of some of the Souix there having fathered a girl on one of the women.

He also turned down the machine guns because they’d slow him down.

Menawhile Bentine and Reno were able to hold off the locals having gotten themselves into a defensive position and dug in. Custers column was essentially run to earth while trying to extricate himself. They actually got very close to getting out. You’ll see the markers where the troopers fell are scatered up the hillside and clumped where they were ovewealmed in at least three groups.
