They don’t get it
April 25th, 2010 at 10:16 am by David FarrarThe HoS reports:
Glenn Sims, managing director of Redflame Media and producer of The Apprentice, last night defended his star: “I’m not worried about Terry’s credibility because all these attacks are Tall Poppy syndrome.”
All the stuff/rumours about Terry’s past are probably tall poppy syndrome. But the inability to pay his bill is not an attack – it is a matter of fact.
TVNZ was also standing by the top-rating show. Spokeswoman Megan Richards said: “Serepisos’ private affairs are his own business, and we will not be commenting.”
What nonsense. When you are promoting him as one of the most successful businessmen in NZ, and someone who people would aspire to work for, then it is absolutely relevant whether or not he can pay his bills or not.
TVNZ had undertaken due diligence prior to Serepisos’ being picked for the show.
Did that include a credit check?

It’s not necessarily that they don’t get it, they are spinning staunch.

I don’t get it…
Why is “all the stuff/rumours about Terry’s past” probably tall poppy syndrome?
Surely his further conmanship and amorality is more evidence that these previous rumours are true!

Well if you all paid rates as you should for the services provided then Wgtn. wouldn’t have this problem. Same for lots of others.
Vote:But you won’t support paying your own ways will you?

Did the due diligence include a screen test? Serepisos is rubbish in front of the camera. Apprentice UK all the way.

The issue is WCC supposedly handle every case on an individual basis, which in a democracy must be transparent and fair.
The articles in the paper clearly give the impression that he has brought a lot of money to Wellington from the phoenix football club and also that he employs loads of people.
Therefore ergo he should be a special case.
I think that is bordering on a corrupt practice or even is one, as all ratepayers should have the same service and treatment from council officers.
Not only that if WCC has taken proceedings against any ratepayer who has owned less than or for a shorter period than any of his companies then they are open to accusations of bias or corruption and redress for from those ratepayers.
That alone says that there should be an investigation and if need be prosecutions of officers who have behaved that way even if it is the CEO, we must have trust in our officers or else they must go, the same for the Mayor and councilors.
