Have you ever heard of brand loyalty?

To invest in a wine company the majority of investers would have faith in the product.

I find it only natural he would go to that company for his unique gifts because he trusted their product.

Because of the blind trust he does not know whether he has shares in the company or not but he trusts their product.

Where on earth is the scandal?

Well a Tongan friend of mine who has been working along with the management at the Crusaders’ Academy for the last 5 years or so to scout & recruit polynesian players into the academy. A training environment where they develop polynesian players so they have a better chance to graduate into the Crusader Super 14 team.

“Forget better policies. Forget better solutions. Forget reaching out to the voters on real political issues. Let our mainstream media division beat up a false allegation into a big issue and then we get behind them and run with it too. Character assasination. Always the best strategy. ”

They’re useless, and the sooner politics in NZ is divested of these hopeless braindead parasites and their stinking propaganda disseminating media division, the better for the democratic system. Collapse the mainstream media and Goff and his extreme left loonies will fade into history.

Not for one moment am I suggesting (nor Haden it seems) that there is an official policy of three “darkies”, however, the management of the Crusaders and Canterbury know full well that a team stacked full of PI players would drive their fans away in their droves.

For my sins I lived in Crimechurch for five long years, as usual with Cantabs they define themselves through their rugby team, I guess that comes from having very little else to cheer about.

Anyway, on more than one occasion I cam across blatant racism from their fans, one particular instance has always stuck in my mind, one Saturday afternoon I popped into the local boozer for a couple of pints of God’s nectar (Guinness) while I was there I struck up a conversation with a few of the locals, all of whom are rabid Canterbury fans, as usual they started teasing me about the Hurricanes latest loss, this type of good natured banter was normal, I enjoyed it until one chap (who in ever other sense was a decent bloke) came out with this little pearler….”you know Bruv, the problem with your team (the Hurricanes) is that they have too many niggers in the side”.

I was shocked, I looked around to see if the other guys were as taken aback as I was, I expected at least one of them to say “hang on a minute”, but no, every one of them agreed with the comment.

On other occasions I would be in the boozer to watch a super 14 game, often the Crusaders would be playing, if they were the pub would be full, during play the ball could be dropped by any of the white players and not much would be said, however, if Vunibaka dropped the ball a chorus of “you stupid black bastard” would ring out.

I repeat, while I do not doubt that the three darkie rule is not OFFICIAL policy I am equally certain that it is the unofficial policy of the Crusaders and Canterbury rugby management.

I agree, there are indeed racist bastards everywhere (expect in the eyes of the Greens who refuse to believe that any Maori can be racist).

What you cannot deny is that Canterbury and Crimechurch in particular have far more than any other area in NZ.

While the ones who are coming under investigation are the CRFU and the Crusader organisation in many ways they are simply giving thier fans what they want, a Crusader or Canterbury team stacked full of PI players would play to an almost empty stadium.

Just because some blokes in the Lancaster Pub on Ferry road might not like “darkies” does not mean the CRFU seek their opinions on selection policy. The crusaders have had 148 players – from their website I count 29 “PI” players but only 19 Maori players – obviously they are pro PI

Unfortunately you used Vunibaka as your example without noting that the Good Guys were the first major NZ province to offer outstanding PI players a chance to display their talents at the (second) highest level – Vunibaka being one example of that policy.

Big Bruv, in his bitterness about the hometown rugby losers, hates Canterbury for its great Crusaders. He’s found a new idol in Andy Haden, similarly warped by his home team’s losing tradition.

Haden’s unfit to be a World Cup rugby ambassador, and if he shows up at Christchurch matches, he would be wise to be in disguise.

Big Brother makes the lying claim that the Canterbury Rugby Union is a racist organisation. To me it seems Haden is the racist by implying that a dearth of Pacific Island players keeps the Crusaders at the top. That’s rubbish of course.

As for Big Brother’s accusations of Christchurch being racist, he should look around his Auckland home. White flight is rampant, to Tauranga and even Queenstown, and the more obvious drift to the North Shore and other pale suburbs.

Not that anyone can complain about racist rugby selection in NZ, of course, when we have an NZ Maori team.

Perhaps the answer to Haden and Big Brother’s bitterness would be to have an NZ Pasifika team in the Super 15. It would do pretty well, but the remnant Auckland side would be bottom of the competition by a mile, with Big Brother’s bitterness increasing to the point he would dissolve.

As for Haden, he’s been into ranting before. Read the story linked to below. It’s interesting that Haden brings the Sunday morning Radio NZ leftist Chris Laidlaw into the debate. Laidlaw, more even than David Lange could stomach.

As for Canterbury, even if they did use fewer Pacific Island players than other teams, the reason would not necessarily be racist. For example, one could consider the style of rugby Canterbury plays and how players need to fit into the team. In my view, Canterbury has over the years played a very goal-oriented, solid, consistent, methodically planned and team-centric style of rugby. (By team-centric, I mean they have diminished the focus on a few outstanding star players.)

How could this potentially work against incorporating Pacific Islanders into the team? (I will note I don’t believe they have a policy against incorporating Pacific Islanders, but I digress.) It has been said for quite some time that Pacific Islanders bring a certain flair to the game. How is this flair typically expressed? Often, it is expressed in broken-play or outside the gameplan. Often it is expressed in premising the individual over the team, i.e. stepping on the outside instead of passing to the inside man who could score much more easily. It is often try-focused rather than point-focused. These facets of play seem to run against the Canterbury ethos.

They may not have the most brilliant players, and they may have some very overrated players, but the players they do have are chosen not only for their individual sparks of brilliance but also for what they bring to the balance and composition of what makes a winning team. They may not win pretty, but as the most successful and consistent of the New Zealand franchises, they do win and that is what matters most.

“Big Brother makes the lying claim that the Canterbury Rugby Union is a racist organisation. To me it seems Haden is the racist by implying that a dearth of Pacific Island players keeps the Crusaders at the top. That’s rubbish of course.”

That is not what Haden or I am implying, the CRFU choice to limit the number of PI players is (I suspect) a business decision, they know full well that their Neanderthal supporters would stay away if the team was made up of “darkies”.

“As for Big Brother’s accusations of Christchurch being racist, he should look around his Auckland home. White flight is rampant, to Tauranga and even Queenstown, and the more obvious drift to the North Shore and other pale suburbs.”

I do not, nor have I ever, lived in Auckland.

“Not that anyone can complain about racist rugby selection in NZ, of course, when we have an NZ Maori team.”

On that we agree, I despise the Maori rugby team and always support their opponents, this is why I would never support a Pasifika team either.

I am perfectly fine with National sides, indeed, I wish that the NZRU would stick to picking Kiwis in our team rather than rape the Islands of their best players. I will never support any team that is selected on race or a team that has an official or unofficial racial selection policy.

    Society to review climate message
The UK’s Royal Society is reviewing its public statements on climate change after 43 Fellows complained that it had oversimplified its messages.
    :
One Fellow who said he was not absolutely convinced of the dangers of CO2 told me: “This appears to suggest that anyone who questions climate science is malicious. But in science everything is there to be questioned – that should be the very essence of the Royal Society. Some of us were very upset about that.

“I can understand why this has happened – there is so much politically and economically riding on climate science that the society would find it very hard to say ‘well, we are still fairly sure that greenhouse gases are changing the climate’ but the politicians simply wouldn’t accept that level of honest doubt.
    :

The last statement is telling. It will be interesting to see if the Royal Society can fix this and/or recover some of their mana after the Oxburgh white-wash. The Royal Society knows which side their bread is buttered on. Do they care more about the butter, or the truth? Time will tell.

    Quoting from the article:

Prime Minister John Key has labelled Andy Haden’s racial quota claims about New Zealand’s most successful rugby franchise as “factually incorrect” and “offensive”.

The PM was questioned by media when in Auckland today about the growing controversy over former All Black Haden’s claims that the Crusaders have a policy of limiting the number of Polynesian players in their teams to just three.

Mr Key said Haden was meeting Sports Minister Murray McCully in Auckland this afternoon about Haden’s role as an ambassador to next year’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

The bold text is perhaps a legitimate issue for the PM to concern himself with. But leaving aside what Haden said, do you really think it’s the PM’s place to comment on issues relating to the Crusaders?

I understand your point, there’s got to be a threshold and we might all set it differently. My point is that when an issue like this gathers momentum, it can be appropriate for the PM to comment. In this case, I think the PMs comments were measured and appropriate. Haden’s a RWC ambassador, McCully’s the Minister, he should tell Haden to stop being a dork… not that I think it’s within Haden’s capacity frankly.

Haden has this habit of being right about so much, he was first to speak out about player payments et al away back in the 70′s and he’s always at the fore front. What a strange mob is emerging to back Andy Haden on his claims about the Crusaders. Mad, lost, idle Philu sides with Big Bruv here on Kiwiblog. On TTVNZ1′s Close Up, Sainsbury’s stand in, today with almost bouffant hair, was joined by a sports commentator with a mild but distracting resemblance to the famous word smith Oscar Wilde in physique and in hair and skin colour. They batted for Haden’s selection.

The proportion of Pacific Islanders in the Crusaders is higher than the proportion of Pacific Islanders in the upper South Island, the home base of the Crusaders. The proportion of Pacific Island and Maori players in the Crusaders is higher than the proportion of these ethnic groups in the upper South Island population. Though with the high rate of intermarriage in the south (at least one Ngai Tahu leader is fair headed with blue eyes), differentiating Maori from Pakeha becomes increasingly difficult and meaningless.

Haden and Co. are the ones who are racist on this issue, IMHO. The implied corollary to what Haden and Co. say about the Crusaders, easily the country’s most successful regional rugby team, is that it is successful because it restricts the number of non-white players. This, of course, is nonsense and is untrue. The Crusaders don’t restrict the number of non-white players. The Crusaders are good because of their strategy, their integrity, their training, and their far-sightedness. They have turned into top players non-white footballers who had been sidelined in the north.

You have to wonder whether the whole imbroglio has been sparked by players’ agents in Auckland keen to foist more northerners (that is, their clients) on the southerners.

As for Big Bruv’s 1.08 post:

…if ever there is a man one sandwich short of a picnic it is Blackadder.

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/opinion/letters-to-the-editor/3748574/Letter-Probably-South-Koreas-fault

[blockquote]“In the aftermath of the sinking of the South Korean naval vessel, the Cheonan …. etc ………. It’s just as likely that the sinking is connected to South Korean pre-election politics, or United States neo- conservative moves within the military to create a reason for invasion of the DPRK”.[/blockquote]
OMG, where does one start? Firstly, the content of his letter. Obfuscation and lies, the US does not want to invade North Korea and risk World War 3 with the Chinese (China will not tolerate US or South Korea occupying North Korea and thus have them at their very back door step, such a move would provoke a major Chinese response. Plus the US through its folly in Iraq does not have the resources to let alone even occupy North Korea even if it wanted to. Incidentally this also explains why China tolerates the North Korean regime, NK is a convenient buffer zone).

[blockquote]… as it is that the DPRK took the risk of war by deliberately sinking the Cheonan….[/blockquote].
No Don Borrie, North Korea (DPRK) will provoke the South for its own political reasons with such occassional acts, but NK doesn’t actually want a war as such because it will be game over for the regime.[/blockquote]

Anyway the jist of Don Borrie’s propaganda is to cast doubt that it wasn’t a North Korean torpedo (launched from a NK mini-sub) that sank the South Korean corvette the Cheonan. However an international investigation team, which sure, included US and Australian investigators, but also included Swedish investigators – why the hell would the Swedish bullshit & midlead the international community etc – have reportedly found fragments of a known North Korean torpedo in and around the sunken ship.

Here’s Wikipedia entry (for goodness sake) on the controversy which discusses the North Korean markings found on the fragments:

I haven’t heard of Don Borrie’s bullshit for years so decided to google his name and look what the search brought up:

First his propaganda – he’s part of a NZ-North Korea friendship society.

But we all know the North Korea regime is one of the worst on this planet. Why is he a traitor and defending a murderous regime?

Fuck, even Amnesty International put a massive boot into the murderous North Korean regime, read their fact sheets:

Fuck, even the UN HCR are concerned about the situation in Norh Korea:

    Ditto Wikipedia:

Of course, as expected New Zeal right-wing blog exposes Rev Don Borries treachery:
    http://newzeal.blogspot.com/2006/10/fnk-3-don-borrie.html

Rev Don Borrie, you are a disgusting piece of shit who santions the torture and murder of the citizens of North Korea and sanctions a corrupt murderous regime that even Amnesty International are deeply concerned about.

Rev Don Borrie, you are a disgrace to the hard won freedoms of the western world eg civil rights, womens rights, freedom of speech and civil liberties, the death penalty – you name it, you are against these in reality.

You should crawl under your rock or move in with Kim Jong-il and kiss his ass, you brown nose.

Sorry Don, your years of propaganda (of you and your ilk) is finally over. We now live in the internet age and the age of the bloggosphere, your writings and bullshit can be exposed for the world to see by anyone and everyone. Don’t be a pussy sign up and debate me, but you won’t because the truth will win. Glad to ruin your day, arsehole.

JK, sorry I probably was so wild that I wasn’t making sense in respect to what I meant by ‘traitor’. Traitor as in traitor to the betterment of mankind/humankind (what ever one wishes to call it etc). Why do we try and bother making society better, democratic (and fairer etc) when people like this guy and his agenda are working against it, sigh?
