Isn’t it a shame you can’t force everyone to watch fox 24/7?

Thats OK Mr. Farrar. Believe me, nothing would give me more pleasure than to see Borker and his thug soviet clan turn up with a hang rope. Just think of what I could do to them in the name of self defence.
BTW, Borker is playing games with your demerit system by posting under numerous identities-
As Borker he currently has 70. (plus the 20 he just got makes 90)
As Left Right Out he has another 90.
He's also been suspended many times under various other identities. (Borker, MNIJ, LRO) If there is any justice in the demerit system, then Borker should be banned for life for such utter dishonesty. He clearly holds the system in contempt and scorn.

I actually think this is right. I am consistently surprised at how much control collectivists are able to command in local bodies in Christchurch. And no amount of leftist silliness, whether its forced rubbish sorting or stopping buses mid-road and making cars needlessly wait, can stop Cantabrians voting for them.

There you go again toad, you are one of the thickest pricks here on this subject. Ecan was fired because after 18 wasted years they left this province with, in effect, a reduced water management policy than the Regional council took over from the Nth Canty Catchment Board and in the absence of what they should have imposed as part of their statuary responsibility. They were disfunctional, incompetent and rudderless in the forming of a water management strategy. FFS it is nothing to do with democracy Ecan proved time after time, term after bloody term they couldn’t even budget anything like an acceptable funding to this area but the could waste sh$t loads of money on stupid ill fated opposition to schemes such as Pegasus Town on grounds related to a preconceived agenda and driven by the philosophies of staff. After squandering a vast sum of money that we will never know the total of, Pegasus exists with a recently reported population over 500 people and we still have no water management strategy and I am just as upset and disillusioned about that as anyone.

The first thing I think when I read DPF’s post is that a finding based on ’350 people through an online panel’ is basically meaningless – so using it as a basis to describe the city of Christchurch as ‘stupid’ or communists is pretty dumb. You guys really need to work on your basic critical thinking skills.
[DPF: An online panel has some validity. It is not a website poll, but is chosen from a panel of people who have agreed to do polls. Agreed that 350 is not huge but the gap is well beyond the margin of error]

Even the members of the bloody local soviet/socialists should accept that although we do not have the protection that U S citizens have against cruel and unusual punishment by way of a constitution, we as a city have not committed any crime that results in their rollover acceptance of Jamberton’s imposing himself on us as mayor. Is there not a dynamic forward looking vital person with a genuine desire to make this City proud instead of an old trougher, living in the time warp of the mid 20th century with a proven record of destructive personal cultist leadership. Good god he has just enjoyed the most cooperative and inclusive period of his time in politics as leader of his personal party of one and now he wants to single handedly blow a council that in recent times has actually given an impression of working together for the City out of the water. Pun intended.

There seem to be a disproportionate number of “massage” parlours in Christchurch in relation to the population. Given the recent revelations of the proclivity of the Left leaning ministers, including Anderton, for spending up large on massages and spa treatments on the taxpayer, perhaps we are justified in speculating there is a correlation between socialist political views and enthusiasm for various types of manual manipulations.
Also, given Anderton’s reputation for being reluctant to delegate decision making, one can imagine he might be keen to personally assume the role of Chief Massage Parlour Inspector and Regulator for Christchurch should he win the mayoralty. Perhaps he is thinking ahead and has decided such a local body role might make for a happy ending to his political career, do you think?

Its all very well for people to come on strong against Anderton, but Bob Parker has made a complete ass of himself as Mayor .
David Farrar himself predicted the demise of Bob Parker in a previous post regarding the disgraceful Parker/ Marryat purchases of David Henderson’s property.
It may surprise people to know that in the more affluent areas like North West Christchurch [Fendalton, Burnside] and South East [ Redcliff to Cashmere] there is a very high level of apathy to Parker.
Parker will lose traditional centre right votes.
Parker has been dishonest in a social and democratic way.
He speaks in platitudes and he feathers up nests.
and I can go into long lengths to prove this.
This is socially conservative territory, and Mayor Parker is just a flimsy bit too liberal socially, and we all know.
We are not unaware of Anderton’s faults but we have a simple choice.
The difficulty we have is getting rid of Bob Parker’s acolytes like Sue Wells and Barry Corbett over there on the South side.
Previous Chair of Ecan [ Canterbury Regional] Sir Kerry Burke will stand in this seat which is a similar seat to his previous Ecan seat.
I am expecting that our new ‘People’s Mayor’ as he wishes to be known to stamp a new authority on Council as did Parker.
We expect that he CEO Tony Marryat will resign,

This is a very important detail that I previously missed. It’s now pretty obvious why Anderton polled so highly. People who agree to be part of these are people who aren’t very busy – students, beneficiaries, housewives, pensioners… all people who tend to vote LEFT.
I wouldn’t wet my pants on this one just yet – I’d prefer to see a real poll come out, and one from a company that is not deep in Labour’s pockets.
