A case for Pete Hodgson

July 16th, 2010 at 9:19 am by David Farrar

The Herald reports:

A hit-and-run driver who left a man seriously injured on the road was tracked by police to the Prime Minister’s electoral office, northwest of Auckland. …

Sergeant Stu Kearns, of the Waitemata serious crash unit, said the 30-year-old victim was standing by his Subaru stationwagon about 7.20pm when he was struck by the van.

“The van then took off,” he said. …

Mr Kearns said the van was located about 8.45pm in the driveway of John Key’s electorate office on the same stretch of highway in Kumeu.

I am enthusiastically awaiting the press release from Pete Hodgson on how the PM was involved in this, on the basis of his research.

Doubtless John Key had microchipped this guy so that he could tell when there was a baby in his house that Key could feast on …

Excellent headline , David. Very droll and right on the button.

Even funnier still, some of the loons will actually be following it up – hoping, hoping, hoping…………………………………………

No need for Pete to get involved. You’ve highlighted it quite nicely yourself.

Was the guy driving a red van ? If so he has no need to comply with the law. Just ask Trevor Mallard, he voted to pass the EFA then drove around in a red van with ‘vote Labour’ plastered all over it with no authorisation. The guy is however stuff if he drives a blue van.

This is a disaster for Key. The seriously injured man knows all about the H-fee. He was meant to be knocked off. Key’s hitman fucked it up and now he’ll be able to talk.

Did a van stand on the honourable Prime Minister’s drive way which minutes later hit a man down the road? If not, why not?

    * The van was loaded with Labour party conspiracy theorists.

    * The lenghs Labour will go to gather mud on National.. by paying someone to create it.

    * Just another local voter seeing the error of their ways by going over to John.

They’re now interviewing all Labour party stafers.

What a ridiculous thread. We have no idea yet whether or not there is any connection to Key or the Nat party. There’s certainly nothing to say that there ISN’T any connection.

It seems a strange, high-profile place to leave/dump a wanted vehicle.

I’m more suspicious about why the story seems to have been buried since that initial 4am Herald article.

Good spin tactics of trying to steer what is possibly a very major even that may have been caused by the prime minister or his supporters by treating it as a joke, well its not a joke, a guy got hurt, and what is the prime minister going to do about it?
He has yet to provide any kind of alibei despite requests by email and phone.
Not to bring politics into this but I would suggest a labour prime minister or any labour minister would not run a guy over thenstoop to trivilising it via jokes made about it by their pet bloggers and so taking the focus away from he/she who committed the crime and to a oppostion party spokeman instead. That is very poor form and typical of right wing capitalist imperilists who have little regard for the little man, who may be that much more little after being squashed by a ministeral limo.
Sure laugh about it, meanwhile a decent man who has made a career on finding and truth and justice and applying it is being made a laughing stock, its not fair and its wrong. Pete Hodgson is a decent hardworking MP, a family man, someone who cares for his fellow man and always seeks to protect them from harm from the capitalist aggressors.
Next time one of you right wingers decides to randomly run over someone just because they are not driving a bMw, have a thought about what you are really doing, its not funny and its not acceptable in this day and age. When the revolution comes and your backs are against the wall, it will be the working masses that will laugh at you ..how will you feel then ? guilty I hope

    Quite right there old chap.

One should never allow oneself to run over just any old common or garden loser wot drives a shitheap Subaru.

One should always aim for a lower class type of target such as a fellow standing by his bicycle or wheelbarrow. :)
