The biggest winner is Parakura, who’s gone from 155 to 165kg, after all these massive Chinese meals and takeaways bought on his ministerial credit card.
Go the whale!

Wow – cool coincidence. About 3 weeks ago our daughter suggested a friendly family Biggest Loser competition. $30 entry fee, winner takes all. Today is weigh-in day, and competition runs for all July. I’m confident of having some winnings to spend on my mountain bike. Oh, and I’ve been ‘laying down a good base’ for the last week

for some reason I picked Mita to win the $ .. he just seemed to be more disciplined and had enough spare flesh to trim. And that was before I heard about his love of golf and bike riding.

I saw these guys on Close Up (?) working out in the parliamentary gym. Geez, it looked like a flash place with the nicest of equipment.
Just remind me, how much do they pay for membership?

lol love the “did not report”
parekura should have been able to win that easy. 2 weeks and he would have dropped 10kg.
weight loss comps should be based on body fat percentages. no point in dropping lean mass. means youre doing it wrong..

no danger of “pare the hutt” losing any lean mass dime.

They should start eating each other again like the old days. Would save a lot of NZ’s problems.

Agree with Dime. Weight’s a poor measure.
@Colonel Masters: I’ve been in the gym there. It’s not that fancy.

Just to put Parekura in perspective for older readers;
Vote:His weight is 24 stone 5 3/4 pounds.

Thanks but no thanks Tauhei. I just worked out I weigh more than four of them!
That’s not four of them added together of course.

Eight Kilograms is pretty respectful.
Especially when you think of it in terms of a bag of potatoes.

Not ragging on him or anything, but Tau had a heart attack 2/3rd of the way through June, and has been recuperating since then. He’d better be losing weight!

Would be interesting to see a National Party equivalent to this. I’d pick Gerry to win easy.
