Another Labour MP criticises Hekia for not campaigning on taxpayer time
November 10th, 2010 at 3:14 pm by David FarrarI previously blogged on how Trevor Mallard criticised Hekia Parata for attending select committees instead of campaigning for votes in Mana.
Now Clare Curran has done the same, and criticised Hekia for attending question time.
Hekia is campaigning non stop whenever she is not required to be at Parliament. But I for one think it is a good thing she actually is also doing the job she is getting paid an MPs salary to do, even if Labour think campaigning is more important.

Mallard was at it again today in the House. What a contemptible lot this Labour crowd is.

It is understandable that Labour are worried that Hekia may pip them at the post In Mana. Hekia Parata is a high quality candidate and would bring a lot of class and pedigree to the job where it counts for the people of mana. If she was a Labour M.P. she would hands down and yet may win anyway.
Vote:Labour is desperately worried that their sentimental pick Chris Faafoi is struggling to make an impression because of his lack of experience and lack of charisma. Nice guy he may be but you need a little mongrel in you to make it in parliament.
Talking of mongrels Matt McCarten has made the race slightly more interesting but is essentially wasting his time. Matt should be in parliament now and is wasted sitting on the sidelines.

mallard and curran are not fit for purpose, as is the NZ Labour party.
wouldn’t it be lovely if matt splits their vote and Hekia pips them.
Vote:now that would be democracy in action!

Having been an idiot and clicked the link a question occurs to me:
You know the old saying that to shut up an Italian, you tie his hands behind his back – well if you took Spud’s smileys away, would he stop posting?

It depends if its programmers incorporated any contingency plans into its programming.

I think it would be good if you could accurately report David that I was criticising Hekia for her seat-hopping manouvres in the House in lieu of real campaigning.
[DPF: If one is in the House and you are a candidate in a by-election, then swapping seats to get on TV seems a smart idea to me.
The saying it is in lieu of real campaigning implies Hekia has a choice to be in the House instead of campaigning. She doesn't - it is her job. Outside House and select committee sitting hours, I understand she is campaigning very hard]

wow, is she the 1st MP to do that Clare .. it was great to hear her IN THE HOUSE a few minutes ago in the general debate earning her pay. Who is paying Faafoi?
Vote:November 10th, 2010 at 4:18 pm
A labour MP asking for someone to report accurately! nice joke. Must be straight out of her report on controlling the media, something about controlling the language to get the desired result?
Shouldn’t you be off trying to destroy a workers career just to further your own?

Clare: Could you please translate into English so we can understand.
1. Her seat-hopping manouvres in the House in lieu of real campaigning.

Are you alleging the Goff-father’s Red Alert persona is nothing more than a program?

If you really want to support John Key vote Colin du Plessis for Mana. Hekia is already in there working hard-two of us working for Mana gives the area twice the level of benefit. Two talented people, working together aand working for Mana. This is good for the area and good for the center right. Currently Key has to do expensive deals (tax wise and culturally for all of us) with the Maori party. Six ACT MP’s will give him the solid support he need to finally sart doing what is necessary to kick start this economy.
Vote:The left is in disarray and voters are torn between Fafooi, Greens and Matt Mc…we can score a victory for the good guys here.

bloody .. Mallard has said that Faafoi is on leave .. he has only been working for Goff for a matter of weeks and already on leave .. is that Annual Leave as in PAID (wow, what fantastic pay and conditions he must have) or LWOP. Good to know the wanna-be MP is loaded

I hope Hekia has one of those advertising folders on her desk in the house, right behind Mr Key where the TV will see it.

As the ACT candidate I had to take unpaid leave from the point of me being announced as the candidate. I can’t see why a similar rule cannot apply to everyone else.

Oh Dear. The Labour Luvvies do sound ever so bitter. How about they just relax and enjoy being in the game at all.
Frankly with some of the Stunts with the last Regime, there should be more than small number inside Jail.

as posted on Redalert. Doubt it will make it through the Trevor firewall.

Trevor, how long has Kris been in his current job? How much leave has he accumulated? is this leave without pay? What employers in the private sector would give an employee 2/3 months leave without pay when they have only been in their current job for a small matter of time? Lastly, how long has Kris been a member of the labour party?
Will double post this on Kiwiblog just in case it gets lost in moderation

I would put a thousand bucks cold hard cash down that Faafoi is still on the tax payers tit while campaigning.

Is Mallard doing Round Taupo, Round Taranaki, and some ride on the West Coast again this summer. How many of those are in Lower Hutt? And how much time is he training for these, it would have to be at least 20 hours a week (Which is more than the total sitting hours of Parliament.)

On a related note just came across the post on Kris Faafoi

I have to say that the comments of all the Anonymouses, including Santa/Anonymouse, were gold. The funniest thing I have read today! I’m still laughing…especially about the disputed size of members of all the Anonymouses. Classic!
Thanks for that.
