Cabinet Front Bench Blog Poll
November 1st, 2010 at 11:00 am by David FarrarIt’s been a while (14 months in fact) since my last blog poll on the Front Bench. These are not scientific, but it is interesting to see how readers regard the various Ministers are performing – and also how things have changed over time.
You can vote in the left hand sidebar – there is a poll for each of the nine Ministers. Go and have your say.

Can’t see Joyce there?

Steven is not on the front bench. I did consider including him in as he is high profile, but then arguably should include McCully and Groser also, and Bennett and Coleman and …..
I might do one with all 27 Ministers at some stage. Not sure how many people would take the time to vote. Maybe I do one just of the 11 non front bench Cabinet Ministers?

I wonder when they will wake up on their stance regarding Climate Change. Smith has rightfully taken a hit in regards his flip flop on this issue.

Wish someone would do this with a wider (and thus more representative sample). Great idea though DPF. A post on the changes over time, once this poll has closed, would be interesting reading.

WHY

I’m struggling to understand, even with the right wing bias of most Kiwiblog readers, how 47% can consider Tolley’s performance to be Very Good or Good, while only 35% consider her Poor or very Poor. This shouldn’t be about politics, it should be about performance, and Tolley’s has been abysmal – a shambles over National Standards and she displays her complete ignorance on that every time she gets asked a Parliamentary Question, together with presiding over a festering industrial dispute in the education sector that isn’t going to go away.
Surely she has to be one of the worst Ministers ever – right down there in the Judith Tizard and Merv Wellington league!
And why is Tolley on the front bench, when Steven Joyce who is by far the most competent Minister of the lot, isn’t? Does Key consider Joyce a threat and not want to give him too great a profile, even though Joyce is the strategist and troubleshooter Key most relies on?

How long are you going to keep telling lies about National Standards and Anne Tolley?

Toad/Locke – whatever your name is…. Tolley has performed badly in the eyes of Labour & the Greens, and their political allies. Your plea for everyone that this shouldn’t be about politics – you’ve voiced your opinion biased by your own politics.

Caused by a militant union hell bent on causing mischief for the government, solely because its led by Labour.

Well I guess we can’t nominate Green MP’s – they’ve never been ministers.
